Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade V elementary school students in learning Indonesian through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. This study used students of class V-A SD Muhammadiyah 04 Batu City as participants. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach by Kemmis and McTaggart which consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The implementation of this research consisted of two cycles with each cycle carried out for two meetings. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II. This is evidenced by the acquisition of the percentage of learning outcomes in cycle I of 35.48% in the very good category and 10.34% in the good category, while in cycle II it was 51.72% in the very good category and 31.03% in the good category. The increase occurred due to the application of the PBL model integrated with the CRT approach which encourages active participation of students and creates meaningful learning.

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students using the Problem Based Learning model on the material "I and my needs". The type of research used Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest-Postest Design research design. The subjects used were all fourth grade students of UPTD SD Negeri Oebobo 2 totaling 27 people. The sampling technique used the Non Probability sampling technique with saturated sampling, where the entire population was sampled. Data collection techniques and instruments in the form of tests and observation sheets. The test instruments given were in the form of pretests and posttests to measure learning outcomes. Before being used, the test instruments were first tested for validity and reliability. After the data was collected, they were analyzed using a hypothesis test. The results showed that the average posttest score was 84.07> the average pretest score of 57.96. In addition, the results of hypothesis testing with a paired sample T-test showed that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000. This shows that the significance level value (2-tailed) <0.05, according to the basis for making this test decision that if the significance level value (2-tailed) <0.05, then the learning outcomes differ significantly between the pretest and posttest data. Therefore, the results of the study indicate a significant influence between the Problem Based Learning model assisted by smart board media on the learning outcomes of science subjects and the needs of grade IV students of UPTD SD Negeri Oebobo 2.

The objective of this research was to describe and identify the improvement in learning outcomes from the application of the role reversal question method in Anti-Corruption Civic Education for grade V students at SDS Kartini Panipahan. The design of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR), with the object of the research being the application of the role reversal question learning method to enhance student activity and learning outcomes in Anti-Corruption Civic Education. The results and discussions of this research concluded that the PKn learning using the active learning method of role reversal question could improve the learning outcomes of grade V students at SDS Kartini Panipahan. The steps in the active learning model of role reversal question included: the teacher creating questions related to the material before the learning activity began, explaining the learning activities, dividing students into several groups, assigning students to conduct group discussions, assigning students to create individual questions, conducting Q&A sessions by swapping roles, and providing feedback on students' answers. This was indicated by the students who scored ≥70 in cycle I increasing by 25% from an initial condition of 39% to 69%. Subsequently, the students who scored ≥70 in cycle II experienced an increase of 28%, reaching 93%. The average score in cycle I increased by 8.75% from the initial condition of 57.73 to 78.52, and in cycle II, the average score increased again by 10.97%, reaching 86.25.

The curriculum plays a crucial role in shaping the direction and quality of education. The Merdeka Curriculum was developed in response to post-pandemic educational challenges, emphasizing flexibility, project-based learning, and character development. This study aims to analyze the interrelation between components of the Merdeka Curriculum as an integrated system and to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses in implementation. The method used is a literature review, involving the examination of various scholarly sources to gain a comprehensive understanding. The analysis reveals that the Merdeka Curriculum consists of four main components goals, content, process, and evaluation which are closely interconnected. Teachers play a vital role in aligning these components to ensure effective learning. The curriculum offers advantages such as essentialized content, greater instructional autonomy, and student-centered assessment. However, challenges include limited teacher training, uneven infrastructure, and varying interpretations in practice. Therefore, optimizing the Merdeka Curriculum requires enhancing teacher competencies and systemic support to fully achieve educational objectives in a holistic manner.

The implementation of critical thinking skills in the basic education curriculum in the 21st century presents real challenges for educators, especially in the realm of primary level education. This study examines in depth the challenges faced by second grade teachers at SD Negeri 2 Karanganyar Purbalingga. Application of critical thinking skills elements in the learning stages. This research applies a qualitative case study approach, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. The findings of the research show that teachers experience various challenges in their learning practices, including one of the limitations in understanding the concept of critical thinking; the lack of professional training that is aligned with the principles of 21st-century learning has not been fully met; and the limited availability of adequate media and learning resources contributes to the challenges in efforts to stimulate students' critical thinking skills. Internal learner factors, such as low curiosity and language limitations, act as barriers to the development of critical thinking skills from an early age. In classroom management, teachers are faced with challenges in order to achieve optimal learning outcomes and in line with the main considerations with the cognitive stages of students II so that teachers can design more meaningful learning experiences. This research shows that improving teachers' competencies through continuous training and the provision of relevant learning resources play an important role in supporting the success of 21st century skills-based learning. The findings of this study are expected to have essential contributive potential and seek to enrich understanding among academics, educational practitioners and policy makers regarding improving the quality of learning in the early phases of formal education.

This study aims explore how effective the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with the Window Shopping method is in improving student learning outcomes in IPAS, particularly on the topic of Indonesian Culture for Grade IV students at SD Negeri 3 Panembahan. The results that implementing PjBL model alongside the Window Shopping method was successful in engaging students actively in the learning process. This approach provided with meaningfull and relevant learning experiences. The improvement in learning outcomes is evident when comparing results across the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. In the pre-cycle, the average students score was only 28,8 with 0%. After was applied in cycle I, the averafe score is to 49,8 and 15% of students achieved mastery. In cycle II, there was a substantial improvement, with the average score increasing to 87,6 and 88% of students meeting the learning goals. These findings suggest that using the PjBL model with the Window Shopping methoed is an effective strategy for enchaning student achievement in learning about Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

Abstract. This study aims to 1) find out how the students' speaking skills are before applying the storytelling method of class V of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang: 2) find out whether the storytelling method can improve the speaking skills of class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang: 3) find out the effect of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a one group pre-test-post-test research design. The population in this study were all class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang, totaling 23 students. The results of the study showed that 1) based on. data analysis that in the pretest data, the average score of the speaking skills test was 29. 2) there was an increase between the pretest that did not apply the storytelling method with an average score of 29, while the posttest data score that applied the storytelling method got an average score of 56, so from that there was an increase in the average score of speaking for grade V students. 3) The test of the effect size of the storytelling method on helping students, the results were influential with the effect size results being very high with a value of 3.47 at a distance of ES> 2.0. The implications of this study indicate that the need for a storytelling method in learning Indonesian to improve students' speaking skills so that it can have a positive impact on Indonesian speaking skills. This study describes the Implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) through the jaran bodhag dance at SDN Kanigaran 6 Probolinggo City. The focus of this study includes the implementation of activities, activity achievements, and supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the P5 project. The background of the study is based on the importance of strengthening and preserving local culture through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) activities, in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum which emphasizes the Pancasila dimension. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive research type, which in this study describes how the process of implementing P5 activities starts from planning, implementation, to evaluation. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of P5 through the values of the jaran bodhag dance makes a significant contribution to the development of competencies, the formation of talents and potential of students in introducing local culture, expanding cultural history insights, and strengthening Pancasila values according to the specified dimensions. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of P5 activities through the values of the Jaran Bodhag dance at SDN Kanigaran 6, Probolinggo City, has a positive impact on students, this is proven by the fact that this culture-based learning process can instill and develop students' character in accordance with the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile, and increase awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage as part of the nation's identity.

The issue of students' dependence on tutoring teachers is increasingly becoming a bad habit. This makes the purpose of this research to analyze the strengthening of the character value of responsibility among fourth-grade students at SD 2 Singocandi, particularly those who attend tutoring outside of school. This research uses a qualitative research type with a narrative inquiry approach, which will then be explained descriptively. Using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation, as well as using Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results obtained through this research indicate that the responsibility character of the 4th-grade students at SD 2 Singocandi, particularly those who attend extracurricular tutoring, falls into the good category. The efforts made by teachers at school or educators in tutoring sessions have proven to provide good progress in the students' sense of responsibility. Moreover, influenced by several factors both from within the students themselves and from their environment, the stages in strengthening the value of students' responsibility character become even better.

The problem of dropping out of school at the elementary education level in Indonesia is still a crucial issue that hinders the achievement of nine-year compulsory education. The latest data shows that tens of thousands of elementary school-aged children do not continue their education, mainly due to family economic factors, limited access to education, and social and cultural influences. Government efforts to reduce the dropout rate include strengthening non-formal education, empowering local communities, and volunteer teaching programs. Dropping out of school at the elementary education level is a serious problem still faced by Riau Province. Based on data from the Riau Provincial Education Office, around 44.37% of school-aged children drop out of school, making Riau the third highest in Indonesia. The main causal factors include family economic limitations, difficult-to-reach geographical conditions, low public awareness of the importance of education, and lack of facilities and government support. This study aims to identify the factors causing dropouts in elementary education in Riau and evaluate local government efforts to overcome these problems. The methods used are literature studies and secondary data analysis from various official sources and current news. The results of the study show that economic and geographical factors are the main obstacles, while government support still needs to be strengthened in order to significantly reduce the dropout rate. This article recommends increasing social assistance programs, improving access to education in remote areas, and increasing socialization of the importance of education to the community.
