Abstract

Mathematical problems frequently arise in various scientific fields, particularly in determining the roots of nonlinear functions. Since complex nonlinear functions are often difficult to solve analytically, numerical methods are commonly used as an alternative approach. This article aims to compare the number of iterations and the error levels produced by the Newton-Raphson and Steffensen methods. The tests were conducted on three types of functions, polynomial functions of the form a1xn+a2xn-1+...+amx0, exponential functions of the form aebx+d+t and trigonometric functions of the form a0sin(b0x)+a1cos(b1x)+a2. For each type, three different functions were used, and each was tested with three different initial guesses. The results show that, in terms of iteration count, the Newton-Raphson method outperformed the Steffensen method for polynomial and trigonometric functions by 84% and 62%, respectively, while for exponential functions, the Steffensen method was superior by 12%. In terms of error, the Newton-Raphson method yielded smaller errors across all function types, with improvements of 92%, 84%, and 98% for polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions, respectively, compared to the Steffensen method.

Abstract

The low academic performance of fourth-grade students in the IPAS subject (a combination of science and social studies in the Merdeka Curriculum) in Sleman Regency raises concerns about the effectiveness of curriculum implementation. Preliminary surveys revealed that an unsupportive learning environment and students’ lack of discipline were key contributing factors. This study aims to examine the simultaneous influence of the learning environment and disciplinary attitude on IPAS learning outcomes. A descriptive quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to fourth-grade students at public elementary schools in Sleman Regency and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The F-test results indicate a significant simultaneous influence of the learning environment and disciplinary attitude on IPAS learning outcomes, with an F-value of 43.374 and a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). The t-test results show that both the learning environment (t = 7.463; sig = 0.000) and disciplinary attitude (t = 2.726; sig = 0.007) have a positive and significant individual influence. These findings highlight the importance of a conducive learning environment and student discipline in improving learning outcomes. The study provides insights for educators and parents to develop more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

The low learning independence of grade IV elementary school students in Bantul Regency is a concern in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum which contains the Pancasila Student Profile with the dimension of learning independence. Based on the results of the pre-research, it is indicated that there are problems with learning independence such as students lacking confidence, discipline, initiative, and responsibility. This study aims to determine the influence of learning motivation and the role of parents on the learning independence of students in stealth. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires on learning motivation, parental roles, and learning independence of grade IV elementary school students in Bantul Regency to the sample and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results of the F test showed that learning motivation and the role of parents in stealth had a positive and significant effect on the learning independence of students with an F value of 14.652 and a significance of 0.000 (< 0.05). The t-test showed that learning motivation (t=16.173, sig=0.000) and parental role (t=17.782, sig=0.000) had a positive and significant effect on learning independence, respectively. These findings reinforce the importance of learning motivation and the role of parents in increasing learning independence. This research is expected to be a reference for teachers and parents in creating more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model on students' cognitive learning outcomes. This study is a quantitative study of the Quasi Experimental Design type with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SDN 1 Darma totaling 59 students. Sampling in this study was Purposive Sampling. The sample used was class VA with 29 students as the experimental class and class VB with 30 students as the control class. The data collection technique in this study used an observation sheet of the implementation of learning on teachers and student learning activities while to measure students' cognitive learning outcomes using a pretest-posttest in the form of a multiple-choice test of 15 questions that had been validated by expert lecturers and teachers. The results of the hypothesis test produced Sig. (2-tailed) 0.009 < 0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the use of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model has an effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth grade students in Mathematics at SDN 1 Darma as evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test.

Abstract

Based on the conditions in the field, it shows relatively low student learning outcomes for the material of natural appearance in the IPS learning content. So the need for the use of Nature Card learning media is expected to be able to improve students' understanding of the material of natural appearance in the IPS content. The research method used is the experimental method of the pre-experimental type with the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Research activities that provide an initial test (pretest) before being given treatment, after being given treatment, then provide a final test (posttest). The population in this study were grade IV students at SDN Simokerto V. Sampling was carried out by random sampling. Data collection techniques by interview, test, observation and documentation. Analysis tests can be carried out with t-tests by measuring the normality and homogeneity tests first. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the independent sample test table on student learning outcomes can be seen that the sig value = 0.000 <0.05. This shows that there is an influence of the use of nature card learning media on student learning outcomes in the material of natural appearance in the IPS subject.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural nation, faces significant challenges related to intolerance based on religious, ethnic, and political differences, particularly among younger generations. This study aims to critically analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in fostering the values of tolerance within the context of Indonesia’s pluralistic society. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, the research examines academic sources, curriculum documents, and survey data related to youth intolerance. The findings reveal that although Islam, both theologically and historically, upholds strong principles of tolerance, its implementation in IRE remains predominantly cognitive and legalistic, lacking sufficient emphasis on affective and social dimensions. The absence of contextual and multicultural learning models hinders the internalization of core values such as tasamuh (tolerance), ‘adl (justice), and ukhuwah (brotherhood). Data from the Setara Institute (2023) indicate that approximately 30% of Indonesian youth are classified as intolerant or vulnerable to radical ideologies. Factors such as national identity understanding, digital religious literacy, and exposure to social media significantly influence attitudes toward tolerance. Therefore, IRE must be reoriented toward cultivating tolerant character through participatory methods, the integration of religious moderation values, and teacher role-modeling. Contextual, transformative, and socially responsive Islamic education can serve as a strategic instrument in shaping a religious generation that is inclusive, humanistic, and capable of living harmoniously in a plural society.

Abstract

BSTRACT Vocational education (SMK) has a strategic role in preparing human resources ready for work. Indonesia has targeted an increase in the proportion of vocational high school students in order to prepare a productive workforce and reduce the unemployment rate of secondary education graduates (Kemdikbud, 2020). However, in reality, the number of junior high school/MTs graduates who choose to continue to vocational high schools is still lower than those who continue to high schools or MA (BPS, 2023). The results of a mini-research conducted by researchers on grade IX students of SMP 1 Dawe Kudus in the 2024/2025 academic year through a questionnaire in the form of a Google form regarding the choice of further studies to SMA/SMK/MA/Islamic Boarding Schools, also showed that SMA is still more popular with students. Of the 206 students, 143 students chose SMA, 54 students chose SMK, 3 students chose MA, and 6 students did not continue their studies. This article examines the factors that cause low interest in vocational high schools and provides strategic recommendations to increase participation in vocational education. Through literature study and data analysis, it was found that negative public perception of vocational schools, disparities in quality between vocational schools, and weak links to the world of work are the main obstacles. It is necessary to transform the image of vocational schools, revitalize the curriculum, and increase synergy with industry to attract more students to vocational education. ABSTRAK Pendidikan vokasional (SMK) memiliki peran strategis dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia siap kerja. Indonesia telah menargetkan peningkatan proporsi siswa SMK dalam rangka menyiapkan tenaga kerja produktif dan mengurangi angka pengangguran lulusan pendidikan menengah (Kemdikbud, 2020). Namun kenyataannya, jumlah siswa lulusan SMP/MTs yang memilih melanjutkan ke SMK masih lebih rendah dibandingkan yang melanjutkan ke SMA atau MA (BPS, 2023). Hasil mini riset yang dilakukan peneliti pada siswa kelas IX SMP 1 Dawe Kudus TA 2024/2025 melalui angket dalam bentuk google form tentang pemilihan studi lanjut ke SMA/SMK/MA/Pondok Pesantren, juga menunjukkan SMA masih lebih diminati oleh siswa. Dari 206 siswa terdapat 143 siswa memilih SMA, 54 siswa memilih SMK, 3 siswa memilih MA, dan 6 siswa tidak melanjutkan studi. Artikel ini mengkaji faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya minat terhadap SMK dan memberikan rekomendasi strategis untuk meningkatkan partisipasi pendidikan vokasional. Melalui studi literatur dan analisis data, ditemukan bahwa persepsi negatif masyarakat terhadap SMK, ketimpangan mutu antar SMK, dan lemahnya keterkaitan dengan dunia kerja menjadi hambatan utama. Perlu transformasi citra SMK, revitalisasi kurikulum, dan peningkatan sinergi dengan industri untuk menarik lebih banyak siswa ke pendidikan vokasional. Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the development of 4C competencies (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication) in the context of 21st-century learning as reflected in the Merdeka Curriculum textbook for Grade VI Elementary School published by Kemendikbudristek. The method used is content analysis with a qualitative approach. The primary data for this research consists of questions and exercises in the Grade VI Elementary School textbook compiled, published, and distributed by Kemendikbudristek. The research results indicate that this Indonesian language textbook for Grade VI allocates 42% of its development to critical thinking and problem-solving skills, 38% to creativity and originality, and 7% each to collaboration and communication skills. These findings were obtained through an in-depth analysis of the content of the respective textbook.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach on elementary school students' numeracy literacy skills based on Gender. The method used is an experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The research subjects consisted of two fifth-grade classes at SDN 6 Palembang: the experimental class received PMRI-based learning, while the control class received conventional instruction. The instrument used was an essay test designed to measure students’ numeracy literacy skills. Data analysis using two-way ANOVA revealed that: (1) the PMRI approach had a significant effect on students’ numeracy literacy skills; (2) there was no significant difference in numeracy literacy based on Gender; and (3) there was no significant interaction between the teaching approach and Gender in affecting students’ numeracy literacy. Therefore, the PMRI approach is proven to be effective in improving students’ numeracy literacy skills, regardless of Gender

Abstract

This study analyzes the textbooks and Student Worksheets (LKS) for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) of Grade VI under the Independent Curriculum to identify potential misconceptions in the presentation of the material. The method employed is qualitative content analysis, categorizing misconceptions into five types: misidentifications, overgeneralizations, oversimplifications, obsolete concepts and terms, and undergeneralizations. The analysis results revealed several significant misconceptions, such as depicting the moon as the only natural satellite, oversimplifying the process of osteoporosis, and using non-scientific terms like "cow farts." These misconceptions can negatively impact students' understanding, limit their critical thinking, and potentially lead to long-term conceptual errors. The study recommends revising teaching materials to improve scientific accuracy and relevance, thereby supporting more effective learning and enhancing students' science literacy.
