Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on Wordwall media in shaping cooperative character among fifth-grade elementary school students with the topic "Norms in Life". The research was conducted in two cycles of action research. The first cycle involved planning, action, observation, and reflection. Learning activities included role-playing about life norms, supported by Wordwall. The results of the first cycle showed a sufficient level of cooperation, but there was an imbalance in role distribution and communication. The second cycle was carried out with improvements based on the reflection of the first cycle. Observations indicated a significant improvement in student cooperation, particularly in negotiation, group dynamics, and responsibility. The findings suggest that PjBL based on Wordwall successfully enhances students' cooperative character. They become more engaged in learning, improving communication skills, role distribution, and collaborative problem-solving. This indicates that the model can be an effective learning approach in developing cooperation skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Educational philosophy is the theoretical basis that underlies approaches, methods, and values in the learning process in elementary school. This research discusses the application of educational philosophy by teachers in elementary schools (SD) with a focus on various philosophical schools that influence educational practice. This research method uses a literature review with descriptive analysis methods. Data was collected through library and documentation techniques by accessing various sources, such as books, journals, and related documents. Data analysis was carried out using a content analysis model. The results and discussion identify the role of teachers as educators, instructors, mentors, leaders, learning managers, and models/exemplars. Several philosophical schools such as Idealism, Naturalism, Pragmatism, Existentialism, and Perennialism, influence educational approaches, methods, and goals. Challenges in implementing educational philosophy for teachers involve limitations in the school curriculum, limited resources, and educators' lack of understanding of the concepts and principles of educational philosophy. This research contributes to understanding how educational philosophy can be integrated into educational practice at the elementary school level. The identified challenges can also become a basis for policymakers and educational decision-makers to increase the application of educational philosophy in the elementary school context, by paying attention to the balance between academic aspects and philosophical values.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) at elementary schools. The study involved 23 fourth-grade students from Sompokan Primary School. This research utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design. Student learning outcomes were obtained through pretest and posttest exams consisting of 20 short-answer questions. The pretest results showed an average score of 56.43 with a standard deviation of 12.251, while the posttest results showed improvement with an average score of 83.70 and a standard deviation of 6.071. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated that both pretest and posttest data followed a normal distribution, with significance values of 0.200 and 0.120, respectively. The correlation between pretest and posttest scores was 0.683, statistically significant (p < 0.001). Paired samples t-test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t = -14.156, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that the use of E-LKPD based on PBL positively influences the improvement of student learning outcomes in IPAS for fourth-grade elementary school students. This method enhances interactivity and student engagement in learning, facilitating deeper understanding and critical thinking skills. Thus, E-LKPD based on PBL can be an effective strategy to enhance the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

The direction of this study was carried out to find out there is a relationship between the understanding of rights and duties material with the attitude of responsibility of fourth-grade students in elementary schools in Jagakarsa District for the academic year 2023–2024. A quantitative correlational method with an ex post facto design was utilized in this research at SDN Tanjung Barat 07, SDN Ciganjur 01, SDN Srengseng Sawah 17, and SDN Ciganjur 04 from January to June. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.514, supporting the hypothesis that there is a relationship understanding of rights and duties material and student’s sense of responsibility at a significance level of α = 0.05. Due to the positive correlation coefficient, it can be concluded that the understanding of rights and duties material is positively correlated with the students' sense of responsibility. The coefficient of determination (r2) has the results of the test of 26.41%, indicating that the remaining 73.59% is explained by other unexamined variables.
