Abstract

The utilization of student feedback in differentiated instruction plays a critical role in supporting adaptive teaching strategies that meet individual learning needs. However, in practice, this aspect is often not fully optimized. This study aims to analyze the forms of feedback delivery, the differences in feedback characteristics, and the teacher's strategies in responding to student feedback within the context of differentiated learning at Phase C of Primary School. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and open-ended questionnaires involving one teacher and 17 sixth-grade students at a public elementary school in Sukabumi City, Indonesia. The findings reveal that students provided feedback in both informal oral forms and written formats, including manual and digital submissions. Distinct feedback characteristics were identified based on students’ levels of understanding: lower-level students requested visual aids, mid-level students suggested collaborative strategies, and higher-level students offered ideas such as grouping based on learning pace and task personalization. The teacher responded to the feedback by adjusting instructional processes—such as teaching pace, methods, and mediabut had not yet implemented differentiaion in content or product. While the teacher’s feedback responses were generally responsive and fostered student participation, they were not yet systematically structured. This study emphasizes that student feedback is an essential foundation for developing responsive differentiated instruction centered on individual learning readiness.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the role of the Dutch Ethical Policy in shaping national consciousness and the emergence of an indigenous intellectual elite who became agents of change in the struggle for Indonesian independence. The research employs a qualitative method with a historical approach, analyzing historical documents, colonial archives, and relevant literature. The findings reveal that although the Ethical Policy was intended to serve colonial interests, it inadvertently provided opportunities for education and increased social awareness among the indigenous elite. These individuals became key drivers of social transformation, fostering resistance against colonial rule and advocating for independence through organizations, education, and the media. This study concludes that colonial education served as a crucial instrument for social change and the development of Indonesian nationalism, with the indigenous intellectual elite playing a central role in the independence movement.

Abstract

The lom ability of students to understand and reconstruct fairy tales indicates the need for inovation in indonesian language learning media. The use of convetional methods makes students less active and makes it difficult to grasp the content and moral messages of the story . This study aims to develop a digital storytelling video media assisted by hand puppets that is feasible, partical, and effective for use in learning, especially to support students ability to retell the story and explore moral values. The study was conducted at SDN Tanjungrejo 1 Malang with 23 fourth-grade students as subjects, using qualitative and quantitative data approaches through the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model. The instruments used incluced expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, observastion sheets, and pretests and postets. The product was developed in the form of a video entitled “Lyli Yang Sombong”, with hand puppet characters, presented in an attractive manner and uploaded on the Youtube platfrom for easy access. The validation results from material, languange, and media experts showed an average feasibility of 88,33% (feasible category). Field trials showed an increase in students active participation in learning. Students were more attentive, built imagination, and created emotional connections with the story characters. The pretest and posttest results showed significant results, with an average N-Gain of 0,81 (high category). Particality was also high, with teacher responses of 85% and 90% respectively. Thus, this medium has proven to be feasible, partical, and effective in teaching storytelling in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative research aimed at describing student errors in solving numerical operation problems. Error analysis employs Newman's procedure which identifies five types of errors: reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. The research was conducted at MTS. Muh Maradekaya in grade VIII with three students as research subjects selected purposively based on criteria of being at the same grade level, attending the same school, and having a minimum test score of 75. The research instruments consisted of the researcher as the primary instrument, along with five essay test questions and interview guidelines as supporting instruments. Data analysis techniques employed the Miles and Huberman model including data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Data validity was obtained through technical triangulation combining tests to identify student errors, interviews to explore the underlying factors causing errors, and documentation to record the research process and student work results. The research findings revealed that students made the most errors in the transformation information indicator. This condition indicates that student problems are not merely technical calculation issues, but also involve reading comprehension, understanding, and deep thinking abilities.

Abstract

Children’s education is primarily the responsibility of parents, as they are the first and foremost educators in a child's life. In Islam, the concept of education begins even before a child is born, as reflected in various verses of the Qur’an. However, in this modern era filled with challenges, the role of parents in child education is increasingly being overlooked. This study aims to examine in depth the role of parents in children's education based on the perspective of the Qur’an. This research employs a descriptive method with a library approach, analyzing verses from the Qur’an along with classical and contemporary interpretations such as Tafsir al-Jalalayn and Tafsir al-Misbah. The findings indicate that parents play a crucial role in instilling the values of faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), and morals (akhlaq) in their children. According to the Qur’an, child education begins in the womb and continues after birth through the habituation of worship, strengthening of monotheism (tawhid), and character development. The implementation of these values is not only carried out through teaching but also through the parents’ daily example.
