Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Science Learning on the Human Respiratory System Material covers various important aspects, including high-level thinking skills (HOTS), key components such as literacy, 21st-century competencies referred to as the 4Cs (including Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity and Innovation), TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge), and the core values reflected in the Pancasila Student Profile. All of these aspects aim to develop students' critical and creative thinking skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Independent Curriculum through Science learning on the human respiratory system material, with a focus on aspects that support the implementation of the curriculum. The subjects of the study were teachers and fifth-grade students at SDN Mangunsari 1. The research adopted a qualitative method, using observation, interviews, and documentation as techniques for collecting data. The analysis process involved several stages, including data reduction, organizing the data for display, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SDN Mangunsari 1 remains suboptimal, particularly in the integration of key aspects of the curriculum into the Science learning process on the human respiratory system material. One of the main obstacles is the low ability of teachers in compiling teaching modules. To overcome this, teachers took the initiative to seek references from various online sources and digital media provided by the Ministry of Education, as well as discussing with more experienced fellow teachers.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of applying social psychology in Islamic Education (PAI) learning at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Falah Nagreg, particularly in enhancing students' religious understanding and character development. Social psychology helps teachers understand student interactions and behavior, thereby strengthening the learning process that is not only knowledge-oriented but also focused on character development and social skills. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method, conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Falah Nagreg. The study concludes that the application of social psychology in PAI education at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Falah Nagreg effectively improves the quality of education by integrating religious value understanding and character development through social interaction. This approach strengthens cognitive aspects while fostering empathy, responsibility, fairness, and cooperation. Therefore, PAI teachers need to integrate social psychology to create an inclusive learning environment that supports students' character development. The urgency of integrating social psychology into PAI learning lies in its ability to bridge the understanding of Islamic values with the social reality of students. This approach is effective in shaping students' characters to be empathetic, tolerant, and able to practice religious teachings contextually.

Abstract

Writing is one of the language skills that students need to master, including writing short stories. However, students often face challenges such as lack of motivation and interest, and consider writing as a boring task. KBM App is an application that can be used to write and publish works, so it can help improve students' writing skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of utilizing KBM App in improving the short story writing skills of fifth grade students. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design on fifth grade students. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' writing skills after using KBM App. T-test analysis showed that there was a positive effect on improving short story writing skills. The results of the N-Gain test in the experimental class showed a "quite effective" category with a value of 0.6504 (65.04%), while the control class only reached 0.3583 (35.83%) which was included in the "ineffective" category. Thus, KBM App can be a fairly effective alternative in improving short story writing skills in elementary schools.

Abstract

The low interest in learning mathematics among students occurs because teachers still use conventional learning media that are less interactive and engaging. This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of gamified learning media assisted by Genially and Educaplay on addition and subtraction of whole numbers to increase the learning interest of second-grade students. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects included students, classroom teachers, and validators consisting of material, media, and language experts. The instruments used were validation questionnaires, student and teacher response questionnaires, and learning interest questionnaires, with data collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The analysis results showed that the learning media were categorized as “very feasible” with a percentage of 87.5% from material experts, 95.83% from media experts, and 100% from language experts. The practicality of the media was in the “very practical” category with a percentage of 81.94% from teachers and 94.8% from students. The effectiveness of the media was categorized as “effective” with a percentage of 87.41%. Thus, gamified learning media assisted by Genially and Educaplay are proven to be feasible, practical, and effective in increasing students’ learning interest in addition and subtraction of whole numbers, making it a potential alternative for interactive mathematics learning in lower elementary grades.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in improving reading literacy skills of third-grade students at MIS Tangga. The TaRL approach emphasizes instruction tailored to students' actual learning levels rather than their grade level. This descriptive qualitative research employed data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results showed that most students responded very positively to the implementation of TaRL, with several questionnaire statements rated in the "very high" category (above 88%). Academically, students' final semester scores ranged from 80 to 91, with many showing stability or improvement, such as S1 (from 90 to 91) and S7 (from 85 to 87). These outcomes indicate that the TaRL approach effectively enhances student engagement, comprehension, and confidence in reading, while also positively influencing academic achievement. TaRL proves to be a viable and inclusive strategy for primary literacy education.
