Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to add fractions among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 23 Sungaiselan through the use of area model image media. The research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes, particularly in fraction material, due to the continued use of conventional teaching methods and minimal use of concrete learning media. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 20 students, with success indicators set at a minimum score of 70 per student and a classical mastery level of 85%. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes: in the pre-cycle, only 15% of students achieved mastery with an average score of 43.5, in cycle I, mastery increased to 65% with an average score of 63.5, and in cycle II, mastery reached 90% with an average score of 83.5. In addition to improved scores, students demonstrated higher active participation, increased learning motivation, and better understanding of fraction concepts. The study concludes that the use of area model image media is effective in helping students understand fraction addition concepts, while also creating an interactive, contextual, and engaging learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca aksara Lontara melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning pada siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Perumputan Kabupaten Bantaeng. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang terdiri atas dua siklus, di mana setiap siklus dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga kali pertemuan dan satu kali tes evaluasi. Prosedur penelitian meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Perumputan Kabupaten Bantaeng yang berjumlah 20 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I siswa memperoleh nilai tertinggi 85, nilai terendah 65, dengan rata-rata 74,50 dan ketuntasan klasikal 60%. Pada siklus II nilai tertinggi meningkat menjadi 95, nilai terendah 75, dengan rata-rata 84,75 dan ketuntasan klasikal 90%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca aksara Lontara siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Perumputan Kabupaten Bantaeng.

Abstract

The aim of research is very important in achieving quality,both in the process and in educational graduates. The learning process also has the potential to contribute to the impact of low quality education. This means that learning is very dependent on the teacher's ability to carry out or package the learning process.The type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to improve student learning outcomes. a research activity carried out in class. Classroom action research in this study was carried out in a collaborative and participatory manner. Collaborative means that researchers work together with class VIII teachers at SMP Negeri 41 Bulukumba.The improvement in student learning outcomes in cycle I already met the criteria, out of 28 students who got very good criteria as many as 12 students or 43% while students who got good criteria were 6 students or 21%, and students who got the criteria enough as many as 6 students or by 21%. And those who got the less category were 2 students or 7%, students who got the failed category were 2 students or 7% While in cycle II there were 28 students who got very good criteria as many as 21 students or 75% while students who got good criteria as many as 5 students or 17%, and students who get sufficient criteria as many as 1 student or 4%. And those who get less criteria are 1 student or 4% so that it can be said that student learning outcomes have increased.

Abstract

The problem found is that students' ability to solve story problems on fractions is still varied and tends to be low, especially at the stage of implementing the plan and reviewing according to Polya's steps. This study aims to analyze the ability of 5th grade students of SDN 3 Korleko Selatan in solving story problems on fractions based on Polya's steps. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of 14 students, where data were collected through tests and interviews with 3 students representing the high, medium, and low ability categories. The results of the study showed varying abilities, high-ability students were able to carry out the four Polya stages systematically, on the contrary, medium and low-ability students experienced significant difficulties, especially at the stage of implementing the plan which was marked by calculation errors, and at the review stage where they tended not to verify the answers. The main conclusion is that students' problem-solving abilities still need to be improved, especially at the implementation and review stages. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers integrate Polya's steps in learning and use models such as Problem-Based Learning for more holistic reinforcement.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low early reading skills of second-grade students at SDN Sungai Miai 4 Banjarmasin, which was caused by conventional teaching methods and minimal use of engaging learning media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using picture alphabet cards on improving the early reading skills of elementary school students. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with 17 second-grade students and one Indonesian language teacher as subjects. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and reading tests before and after the application of illustrated alphabet cards. The results showed that the use of picture alphabet cards improved students' early reading skills in terms of letter recognition, word pronunciation, reading comprehension, and the use of punctuation and intonation. In addition, this media also had a positive impact on students' motivation and confidence in reading, as well as creating a more interactive, enjoyable, and participatory learning atmosphere. Illustrated alphabet cards have been proven to be effective as visual aids that are appropriate for the cognitive development stage of elementary school children, as explained in the theories of Piaget, Bruner, and Vygotsky, which emphasize the importance of visual-based learning and scaffolding in the zone of proximal development. Thus, the use of illustrated alphabet cards can be used as an innovative alternative to improve students' basic literacy skills while strengthening the quality of the Indonesian language learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review several studies related to reading ability and vocabulary mastery in Indonesian language learning at elementary schools. Reading ability and vocabulary mastery are the main foundations of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The three previous studies show that card-based media, including word cards, flashcards, and picture word cards, have a positive effect on improving students' basic literacy skills. This article aims to review and compare previous research on the use of card media in learning Bahasa Indonesia at elementary schools and proposes the development of digital word card comics as an alternative medium that is more interactive and contextual. The research method used was a literature review of three empirical articles and other relevant supporting sources. The study results indicate that card media is effective in improving students' reading skills and vocabulary mastery, but it remains conventional. Therefore, digital word card comic media is proposed as an innovative form of 21st-century learning media that integrates text, images, and audio in a digital context.

Abstract

Instilling financial literacy from an early age is a strategic step in shaping healthy financial character and habits, especially within the context of sharia values. This study aims to examine the implementation of sharia financial literacy through executive function-based activities for preschool-aged children within the Aisyiyah Regional Leadership of Pacitan Regency. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of learning activities. The results showed that the integration of sharia financial literacy in activities that train children's executive functions such as planning, decision-making, and self-control was able to foster children's basic understanding of the concepts of saving, sharing, and money management in accordance with sharia principles. These activities were packaged in the form of role-playing, simple transaction simulations, and stories containing Islamic morals. The conclusion of this study states that the implementation of sharia financial literacy through the executive function activities approach is effective for preschool-aged children and is relevant to the educational values ​​promoted by preschool educational organizations/institutions within the Aisyiyah environment of Pacitan Regency.

Abstract

Penilaian dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran daring mutlak harus dilakukan untuk mengukur keberhasilan sistem pembelajaran yang dijalankan oleh dosen. Hampir semua dosen mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan alat penilaian mandiri dalam pembelajaran daring. Kemampuan dosen dalam mengembangkan alat penilaian merupakan salah satu indikator kualitas pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Beberapa dosen tidak memahami alat penilaian yang baik dan benar dalam proses akhir kegiatan pembelajaran online, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa pendidikan tinggi belum mampu mengembangkan alat penilaian secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh teknik penilaian dalam pembelajaran online berbasis EDLI untuk mengukur tingkat motivasi dan keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian quasi-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian satu kelompok pra-tes-pasca-tes, melibatkan 15 dosen di perguruan tinggi di Provinsi Maluku Utara yang melaksanakan kuliah daring pada mata kuliah tertentu. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan meliputi: 1) Statistik deskriptif; 2) Uji asumsi; dan 3) Uji hipotesis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa panduan teknik penilaian proses perkuliahan berbasis EDLI memiliki pengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dosen untuk memberikan penilaian akurat terhadap tingkat motivasi dan tingkat keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan daring, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh 15 dosen yang mengalami peningkatan skor berdasarkan hasil pengisian skala penilaian dalam perkuliahan daring. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi bagi sektor pendidikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dosen dalam melakukan penilaian yang akurat terkait tingkat motivasi dan keterlibatan mahasiswa selama kuliah online yang menggunakan media konferensi video, sehingga penilaian kinerja mahasiswa dalam mengikuti kuliah menjadi lebih efektif.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the importance of instilling an attitude of tolerance in elementary school students, the reality in the field shows that even though students have known tolerance, problems such as egocentric attitudes are still found in the classroom, Therefore, this study aims to describe the role of teachers and their application in instilling an attitude of tolerance to grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The subjects of the study were teachers and fourth grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun, Data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. To strengthen the analysis, this study refers to James A. Banks' multicultural education theory and Gordon Allport's contact hypothesis which is relevant to instilling the value of tolerance through equality in opinion. The results of the study show that teachers have a central role in instilling tolerance through various approaches. As a learning resource and educator, teachers emphasize the importance of respecting differences and respecting the opinions of others. As facilitators, teachers create group discussion spaces to get students used to working together and resolving differences democratically. In their role as classroom managers, teachers apply discipline rules, as well as an educational reward and punishment system. Keywords: Teacher’s role, tolerance attitude, students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis media video dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada elemen Teknologi Perkantoran di SMK Negeri 1 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen) dengan metode total sampling, di mana sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MPLB 4 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI MPLB 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 70 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis dengan independent sample t-test, dengan pengolahan data melalui IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa angket motivasi belajar valid dan reliabel (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,893), dan dari 30 soal tes hasil belajar terdapat 20 soal valid dan reliabel (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,862). Hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa data hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen yang diajar menggunakan model Problem Based Learning berbasis media video dengan kelas kontrol yang diajar secara konvensional, dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05 dan t hitung = 5,236. Selain itu, motivasi belajar juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05 dan t hitung = 5,196. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis media video efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dan motivasi belajar memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MPLB di SMK Negeri 1 Medan
