Abstract

Climate change, geological activity, and environmental degradation have increased the number of natural disasters in recent years. To mitigate the social, economic, and infrastructure impacts, early disaster detection and mitigation are crucial. Real-time monitoring of geospatial phenomena such as forest fires, floods, and landslides is aided by satellite technology. Combining remote sensing technology with big data and artificial intelligence improves prediction accuracy and enhances rapid disaster response. In addition to disaster mitigation, satellite technology contributes to national resilience by monitoring geospatial threats and regional security, including border surveillance and cyber threat detection. The development of satellite technology in Indonesia faces constraints such as limited budget and human resources, but through strategic investment and collaboration, there is significant potential to increase its independence and resilience. Satellite technology is expected to strengthen national resilience and support sustainable development and public welfare in the face of global threats.

Abstract

Misconceptions are one of the main obstacles in the junior high school science learning process, especially in the subject of the digestive system, because students often maintain incorrect understandings that impact their mastery of advanced concepts. To address this issue, this study designed an interactive Android-based educational game using Smart Apps Creator (SAC) as an alternative solution to minimize misconceptions. The main objectives of this study include testing the validity of the media produced and assessing student responses to the application of these educational games in science learning. This study applied the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validation process was carried out by subject matter experts, media experts, and practitioners (junior high school science teachers) using a questionnaire instrument, while limited testing involved students through a response questionnaire. The validation results show that subject matter experts gave a score of 87.75%, media experts 94.39%, and practitioner experts 85.50%, with an average validity level of 89.21%, which falls into the “highly valid” category. Meanwhile, student responses obtained a percentage of 88.67% and were in the “very good” category, confirming that the learning media developed was not only appropriate in terms of content and appearance, but also well received by direct users, and it is recommended to be further developed with broader coverage and tested on a larger scale to obtain more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

Low interest in learning is a common problem in the learning process. The cause is the limited teaching materials available in schools. This condition results in suboptimal understanding of the material and decreased student engagement during learning activities. Based on these problems, an e-booklet teaching material was developed to support the learning interest of seventh-grade junior high school students. The purpose of this study was to measure the validity and response of students to teaching materials in the form of e-booklets discussing medicinal plants in the Banten region. The method applied in this study was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of four stages, namely analysis, design, development, and implementation. The research instruments consisted of expert validation sheets and questionnaires to measure student responses, which had undergone a validation process by instrument experts using the judgment method. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the e-booklet achieved a validity level of “Highly Valid” with an average percentage of 87.84%, based on validation from subject matter experts, teaching material experts, and practitioner experts who were junior high school science teachers. After undergoing a revision process, the product was tested on a limited basis with students and received a response rate of 97.79%, which falls into the “Very Good” category. Abstract

Current learning requires critical thinking skills, but the problem arises that students do not yet have critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, teachers have not created learning that can develop students' critical thinking skills. This is due to limited time in delivering very dense material. The lack of critical thinking skills can be addressed through learning activities that make students actively involved, namely by using E-LKPD. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of validity and readability of students towards E-LKPD based on critical thinking skills. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Data were obtained through observation, interviews, validation, and student readability tests. The results of the study based on experts obtained a percentage of 92.02% with a very valid category and for the readability test obtained a result of 88% with a very good category. From the results of the validation and readability test, it can be concluded that the development of E-LKPD based on critical thinking skills is proven to be very valid and has very good readability.

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the contribution of the REACT model in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in learning about substances and their changes at a public junior high school in Serang City. A quantitative approach was employed, using a pretest–posttest control group design, where Class VII C served as the experimental group applying the REACT model, while Class VII A functioned as the control group using the PBL model. Data were collected through multiple instruments, including interviews, questionnaires, test documentation, and observations, and were subsequently analyzed using homogeneity and normality tests, followed by an independent sample t-test. The results indicated an increase in the experimental group’s posttest mean score to 78, outperforming the control group’s mean score of 66, with a significance value of 0.003, below the 0.05 threshold. These findings confirm that the implementation of the REACT model effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills through the stages of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring. Therefore, the REACT model can be considered a viable alternative science teaching strategy that supports the development of students’ critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Environmental and disaster disinformation has evolved into a serious hybrid threat to national defense, targeting social stability and public trust during crises. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of science literacy as a non-military defense modality in countering false narratives and pseudoscience. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA protocol, this study reviewed selected articles published between 2020 and 2025 from Scopus, Google Scholar, and Garuda Portal databases. The analysis reveals that disaster disinformation operates as a form of cognitive warfare that undermines national mitigation responses. Key findings confirm that science literacy functions effectively as a "cognitive shield" that enhances public resistance to hoaxes, while simultaneously repositioning critical thinking skills as a modern manifestation of the State Defense (Bela Negara) concept within the Universal People's Defense and Security System (Sishankamrata). This study concludes that integrating science curriculum with defense doctrine is imperative to build adaptive national resilience. Synergy between the education and defense sectors is recommended to create a resilient information ecosystem.
