Abstract

Folklore is part of the culture of the community that speaks it, a concrete form of creativity, feeling, and will that becomes the crystallization of values and a reflection of the character of the people. It contains hopes and references for the nobility of character and the outlook on life of the community that speaks it, so that it becomes a transfer of values from the previous generation to the next generation, where there is character education that can be conveyed. This study aims to find and present a general description or information about the folklore of East Kotawaringin. The research method uses a qualitative approach with the ethnopedagogy method. The research locus is Baamang District, East Kotawaringin Regency. Data were collected using interviews, observations, and literature studies. Analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation (display), conclusion, and verification. The results found were information and facts about folklore as a crystallization of values and a reflection of the character of the community. There are values in the folklore of East Kotawaringin, including norms towards oneself, others, the environment, and God. The existence of these values makes folklore can be used as a medium for character education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the implementation of learning with outdoor learning methods, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors experienced by teachers in applying this method in thematic learning in grade III SDN 2 Kemuning, Banjarbaru. The research used qualitative methods with data sources from students, teachers, the school environment, and related documents. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, and were tested for validity through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the outdoor learning method is very effective in increasing students' enthusiasm for learning. However, this method has supporting and inhibiting factors. In terms of learning, the advantages are that it is more applicable and inspiring because it provides real examples to students. Meanwhile, the obstacles include the need for more time in its implementation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for a new work culture in improving the capacity and capability of Civil Servants (ASN) at the Class IB District Court of Sampit. The research method used in this study was in-depth interviews and documentary studies. Research respondents consisted of officials and staff at the court. The results showed that there is a significant need for the adoption of a new work culture that is more open, inclusive, and oriented towards public service. A work culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning was identified as a key factor in enhancing the capacity and capability of ASN. The implications of this research suggest the need for changes in management policies and practices in the court to create a work environment that supports the professional growth and development of ASN.

Abstract

National consciousness is a vital element in shaping the identity and integrity of a nation. Amid the rapid flow of globalization and technological advancements, Generation Z, those born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s, faces unique challenges in upholding national values. This article aims to discuss the real challenges of national consciousness faced by Generation Z in the digital era, while also exploring their potential and opportunities to strengthen nationalism through relevant and contextual approaches. The methodology used in this research is a literature review, which involves collecting data and information from various sources, including academic articles and reference books. A descriptive analytical approach is applied to describe and present the gathered data without drawing definitive conclusions. Through both qualitative and quantitative approaches, this paper examines how Generation Z tends to be more open to global culture, yet still demonstrates a strong sense of patriotism, especially when confronted with issues concerning national sovereignty. However, their understanding of history, national ideology, and national symbols remains limited and in need of improvement. Therefore, an adaptive and creative approach is required, particularly through digital platforms and formal education, to instill national values that align with the unique characteristics of this generation.

Abstract

The need for data related to Islamic boarding schools is needed for various policies that will later be related to the development of Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to inventory Islamic boarding schools in the Katingan, Pulang Pisau, and Kapuas districts in terms of their history, number of students and teachers, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and their learning processes. Using a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were 20 Islamic Boarding School Leaders/Managers. The results of the study were that from the type of Islamic boarding school, 30% still used the salaf concept and 70% used a combination of modern concepts. There are still Islamic boarding schools that have obstacles such as not having permanent dormitories, inadequate road access, the welfare of educators and education personnel, and a lack of experts in Al-Qur'anic knowledge. Recommendations for related parties are for the Ministry of Religion of Katingan, Pulang Pisau, and Kapuas Districts to intensify monitoring and evaluation and provide information on assistance such as building construction, and others; Educational institutions such as state and private universities should make the location of the Islamic boarding school a place for community service by both lecturers and students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Effect of Population and Regional Minimum Wages on Employment Opportunities in Central Kalimantan and this study was conducted in Central Kalimantan with a time span of 2014-2023 using multiple regression analysis tools and classical assumption tests. The results of the analysis concluded that the population (X1) simultaneously did not have a significant effect on increasing employment opportunities in Central Kalimantan. Regional minimum wages (X2) simultaneously had a significant effect on increasing employment opportunities in Central Kalimantan. Based on classical assumptions, it is explained that this regression model meets the assumption of normality, multicollinearity occurs in this regression model, there are no symptoms of heteroscedasticity in the regression model used, it is concluded that in the regression model there are no symptoms or problems of autocorrelation.

Abstract

The problem of beggars in Palangka Raya City is one of the complex social issues, reflecting social inequality and the failure of an inclusive social protection system. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the implementation of the social rehabilitation program run by the Palangka Raya City Social Service to deal with beggars. This study collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation from various informants, including Social Service employees, social assistants, and beggars who had participated in the program. The study results indicate that the social rehabilitation program, which includes data collection, mental coaching, skills training, and social assistance, still faces various obstacles. The main challenges are low participation of beggars, limited rehabilitation facilities, a limited number of social assistants, and difficulties in social reintegration. In addition, the skills training provided is not fully practical due to limited job opportunities and post-rehabilitation support. However, some beggars have successfully undergone rehabilitation and live independently. This study recommends improvements in the capacity of rehabilitation facilities, the number of social assistants, a more holistic approach, and stronger economic empowerment to increase the program's effectiveness. It is hoped that with these steps, the social rehabilitation program can significantly impact beggars in Palangka Raya City.

Abstract

Media use in learning has become an integral part of the modern education landscape. Despite the continuous advancements in educational technology, the effectiveness of learning media remains significantly determined by the pedagogical approach employed. One relevant and potentially impactful approach for optimizing media utilization is social constructivism, developed by Lev Vygotsky. This approach emphasizes that learning occurs through social interaction, supported by more competent individuals through the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) concepts and scaffolding. This study analyzes how learning media can be effectively integrated through Vygotsky's constructivist approach. The method employed in this research is library research, which reviews various theoretical sources and relevant prior research findings. The results of the review indicate that integrating media based on social constructivism can enhance student engagement, foster collaborative interaction, and strengthen the knowledge construction process. Thus, utilizing media aligned with the principles of Vygotsky's constructivism is a crucial strategy in creating meaningful and contextual learning experiences.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the factors influencing the decision-making process of Muslim parents from upper-middle economic backgrounds in selecting Islamic-based educational institutions in Palangka Raya. Hasanka Boarding School, as one of the most favored modern Islamic educational institutions, becomes the focus of this study, highlighting the need to examine the underlying reasons and motivations of parents in choosing this school. The research employed a mixed-method approach with case study, using closed-ended questionnaires for quantitative data collection and open-ended questionnaires for qualitative descriptive analysis. The study involved 55 respondents, all of whom are parents of students at Hasanka Boarding School Junior High School. The instrument items were developed based on the framework proposed by Abuddin Nata concerning the factors that influence parents in choosing Islamic education. The findings indicate that religious aspects (95%) are the dominant factor motivating parents to choose Hasanka Boarding School, followed by the quality of education and teachers (91,6%), as well as the school's role in supporting social development and future aspirations (90%). Meanwhile, the integrated curriculum and school reputation were found to be lower in the hierarchy of motivating factors. These findings were analyzed through the integration of several theoretical frameworks, including Maslow's theory of motivation, Lancaster's consumer choice theory, Islamic education theory, community-based education theory, and religious moderation theory. This study contributes to strengthening the understanding of the multidimensional factors that influence educational decisions among Muslim middle-class communities in the modern era.

Abstract

Indonesia has an unemployment rate of 5.25% among university graduates and a low interest in university graduates who become entrepreneurs. This study explores how entrepreneurial knowledge, social media, and digital marketing affect entrepreneurial interest among Bina Insani University FEB students (2021-2023) who have taken entrepreneurship courses. Using a quantitative approach method with a probability sampling technique and a simple random sample of 200 respondents, the data were analyzed using SPSS 29. The results showed that all three variables significantly (p < 0.05) and positively influence entrepreneurial interest, with digital marketing as the most influential factor (β = 0.344). The findings highlight the need to strengthen and diversify entrepreneurship education at Bina Insani University, integrate digital marketing and social media, and encourage collaboration with the digital industry and government to build relevant entrepreneurial skills that align with the new era of digitalization.
