Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors that cause low-economic elementary schools to have excellence in the non-academic field, as well as to describe the strategies applied by teachers with students who have excellence in the non-academic field. The method used in this research is a type of case study research with a qualitative approach, data collection techniques are carried out by interview, observation, and documentation. The results in this study are 1) The factors underlying the excellence of the non-academic field at MIM Pucangan are: Utilization of funds properly, giving awards and support as motivation, student habituation, and collaboration of supportive schools. 2) The strategy carried out by teachers in improving the excellence of the non-academic field is to improve the quality of mentors and make good use of infrastructure.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology that affects the world of industrial technology, on this occasion we conducted research in a school in the city of Surakarta which became one of the places to prepare human resources who will later be involved in the industrial world. The purpose of this study was to find information related to the implementation of an industry-based curriculum at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta, obstacles in the implementation of an industry-based curriculum at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta and efforts made to overcome obstacles in the implementation of this industry-based curriculum. We collected data using a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews, direct observation and documentation analysis. The results of this study are that we get information that the industry-based curriculum is implemented by establishing cooperation between the school and the industry by providing learning materials tailored to the needs of the industry, then the obstacles in implementing this curriculum are limited practical supporting infrastructure that must always be adapted to the rapid development of technology, the ability of teachers who always have to be improved to keep up with new material in accordance with technological developments, and there are some mental students who are not ready with job offers outside the area. Of the several obstacles that exist, the school also tries to overcome these obstacles by making student practice groups to optimize learning time and establishing partners with industry to participate in meeting the needs of infrastructure to support practice, teachers and the industry also always coordinate related to the material that must be adjusted to the needs of the industry, then the mentality and attitude of students who are always prepared to be ready to enter the world of work.

Abstract

The development of technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings significant changes in the world of education, including in Arabic language learning. Digital literacy is an important skill that supports the teaching and learning process effectively and innovatively. This study aims to analyze the role of digital literacy in improving the quality of Arabic language learning at various levels of education. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results show that digital literacy facilitates access to learning resources, increases student motivation, and enables the application of technology-based learning methods such as e-learning and blended learning. In addition, the ability to integrate technology in Arabic learning helps students understand the material more interactively and contextually. This study concludes that digital literacy plays an important role in creating a more dynamic and adaptive learning experience according to the needs of the times. Therefore, it is necessary to develop digital literacy skills for educators and learners to optimize Arabic learning outcomes in the digital era.

Abstract

Currently, there are still many children who have difficulty learning to count. So, learning media that is interesting and not monotonous is needed in order to develop student interest and improve students' ability to calculate. This research aims to describe 1) Implementation of the use of a mathematical calculation board. 2) obstacles and challenges in using mathematical calculation boards. 3) Teacher perceptions of the effectiveness of the mathematics calculation board. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method with a case study approach. This research was carried out at Siwi Peni Grobogan Kindergarten with subjects including Siwi Peni Kindergarten students aged 5-6 years with a total of 15 students and teachers participating, namely the Siwi Peni Kindergarten homeroom teacher, and also the principal of Siwi Peni Kindergarten. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation.  The data analysis used is the Miles and Huberman theory, namely data collection, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, it can be stated that: 1) The use of counting board media is carried out through three stages, namely the planning stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. 2) Obstacles and obstacles in using counting board media, namely the teacher's lack of knowledge regarding learning media, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and students not knowing how to write numbers, which hinders learning activities.  3) Based on the teacher's perception of the effectiveness of using counting board media, it can be said to be effective, because it is able to increase student involvement in class and improve students' numeracy skills..

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Identify the strategies used by the school principal to improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta, (2) Identify the factors that support and hinder the strategies used by the principal of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. This type of research employs qualitative research. The design of this study is a case study. The research subjects include the principal, Islamic religious education teachers, and students. Data collection techniques with an interactive model include data collection, reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is ensured through triangulation of data sources and triangulation of methods. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the principal of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta implements various efforts to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning, such as training for educators, the use of technology, strengthening Islamic values, and routine guidance. These steps play a role in improving teacher competence and students' enthusiasm for learning. (2) The success of this strategy is supported by the active role of teachers, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the commitment of school principals. However, there are several challenges, such as lack of student participation, budget limitations, and obstacles in the application of learning technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the increase in Indonesian vocabulary mastery by using the Anagram Game (Word Wall) in Elementary School Class VI MIN 1 Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year. This study uses PTK (Classroom Action Research). Data analysis is an activity after data from all respondents or other data sources are collected. The subjects and objects of this study were all 24 students in grade IV. This research procedure used Cycle I and Cycle II. The research instrument used a test. The data analysis technique uses three steps, namely: (1) Data reduction, (2) Data presentation, and (3) Drawing conclusions or verification. So from the explanation above, it can be concluded that Indonesian vocabulary can increase by using the anagram game (word wall) in Elementary School Class IV Min 1 Medan. The results of the study showed that the use of Wordwall was proven effective in improving the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary in grade IV Min 1 Medan students, as evidenced by an increase in the average test score of 173%. In addition to improving vocabulary mastery, Wordwall was also proven to be able to motivate students to learn more actively and improve their interpersonal skills through interaction in Indonesian. This study opens up opportunities for the development of more interactive and meaningful learning models for students. Wordwall, with its various features and ease of use, has the potential to be an effective learning tool in improving Indonesian language mastery at various levels of education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali. The methodology of this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, namely information in the form of letters rather than numbers. The key to this research is the principal and the teacher. This is because the principal and teachers are directly involved in the learning process at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews and document studies. The leadership of the principal is expected to have the ability to move, influence, motivate, direct, and nurture teachers, so that a high work ethic, creativity and productivity are born in achieving goals. Teacher performance is the result of teachers' work that is reflected in how to plan, implement, and assess the teaching and learning process. The results of the study show that the leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance is good, namely the commitment to enforce the discipline of teachers' working time in schools and provide motivation for teachers and empower teachers by paying attention to their achievements in improving their work ethic. Teachers' performance improved with the enforcement of discipline and teachers' work motivation at school, both including their presence at school and class, discipline in presenting subject matter and punctuality when leaving the classroom after completing the subject matter. Motivation and Empowerment of teachers by paying attention to their achievements in improving their work ethic and providing awards, congratulations, and appreciation either in the form of charters or incentives for outstanding teachers. Thus, it was concluded that the leadership of the principal in improving the performance of teachers at SMK N 1 Banyudono Boyolali greatly contributes to the progress of learning quality so that it can encourage the quality of education and success in the world of education, especially at SMK N 1 Banyudono Boyolali.

Abstract

The learning method is a circle that connects teachers, students and learning materials. Teachers can use methods to deliver learning materials to students. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the lecture method in Muhammadiyah learning and its impact on grade VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and document studies. The results of the study indicate that the lecture method has advantages in delivering material systematically and effectively in reaching all students at one time. However, this method also has weaknesses, such as low student participation, boredom in learning, and lack of in-depth exploration and interaction. The positive impacts found include increased student understanding of the history and principles of Muhammadiyah, while negative impacts include student boredom and minimal motivation to learn independently. Based on these findings, it is recommended to combine the lecture method with other learning methods, such as discussion, use of interactive media, and giving project-based assignments to improve the effectiveness of Muhammadiyah learning in Muhammadiyah schools.

Abstract

In the field of education, school branding is a complex phenomenon that has many aspects. Therefore, the principal needs to have skills in improving school branding in order to be able to face increasingly tight competition. This study aims to describe the role of the principal and the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the branding of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kartasura. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach including field research. The results of the study indicate that the role of the principal in improving school branding includes: The principal ensures that the school account is running well. The principal maintains communication with the school, parents of students, and alumni. The principal improves the quality of teachers. The principal improves facilities and infrastructure. Supporting factors in improving school branding include: Professional teachers. Positive school culture. The inhibiting factors include: Lack of funding and the presence of competitors in the school's environmental zone.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relevance of moral education values ​​in the book uswatun hasanah with Islamic education in modern times. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. The research design uses library research and the research approach is a study of figures. The data sources used are written sources by collecting works of figures and related previous studies. The results of this study indicate that the specifications of moral education values ​​according to Nukman Sulaiman are to form humans who have noble character, obey Allah and His Messenger, love both parents, honor teachers, respect family, love orphans, respect neighbors, be honest, trustworthy, patient, shy, brave, friendly, polite, have high ideals, 'iffatun, believe in yourself, be diligent, help each other, and be sincere. The values ​​of moral education from Nukman Sulaiman's perspective according to the researcher's goals are still relevant to today's education. This is proven by the fact that Nukman Sulaiman's educational goals are still applied in the Al Washliyah Education System, Articles 2, 3 and 4 concerning the vision, mission and goals of education.
