Abstract

Pregnancy due to merariq kodeq or getting married at an early age can be risky because, at that age, teenagers are relatively unable to accept physical and psychological changes. Efforts that can be made for couples who marry at an early age to prepare for a healthy pregnancy are through mentoring. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of Merariq Kodeq (Bedeq) Education Bale Assistance on Pre-Pregnancy Readiness. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental research with a Post-Test only with Control Group Design approach with a total sampling technique of 60 people divided into two groups, namely the BEDEQ assistance intervention group and the Catin service counseling control group with 30 people in each group. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group, with a p value of 0.008 (p value 0.05). Most of the respondents had good knowledge after receiving the Bedeq intervention assistance treatment for prospective brides and grooms, 18 respondents (81.8%) and married couples, 7 people (87.5%). Meanwhile, in the control group, the level of knowledge about healthy pre-pregnancy among prospective brides and grooms was 10 people (45.5%) had good knowledge, 9 people (40.9%) had sufficient knowledge, and 3 people (13.6%) had poor knowledge. With BEDEQ assistance, the community, especially teenage brides and grooms, can pay more attention to their physical and psychological conditions in preparing for a healthy pre-pregnancy to prevent the risk of stunting

Abstract

The duration of labour is influenced by 3 main factors, namely power, passage, passanger. Control of these factors is thought to be able to influence the duration of labor so as to minimize the incidence of complications caused by prolonged labour.  Maternal nutritional status, one of which is the weight gain during pregnancy, allegedly affects power and passanger as factors that play an important role in labour. This study aims to determine the effect of maternal weight gain during pregnancy on uterine contractions and fetal weight at Srikandi IBI Public Hospital, Jember, East Java. This research is an observational analytic study, a cross-sectional approach with sample size of 92 mothers giving birth at Srikandi General Hospital in Jember. Collected data was analyzed by inferential analysis using path analysis. It was found that the maternal weight gain during pregnancy had a significant effect on the fetal weight (t-value 3.77 with an estimated value of 0.37), but did not affect uterine contractions either in frequency (t-value 1.62) or duration (t -value 0.69). So it can be concluded that the greater maternal weight gain during pregnancy, the greater the fetal weight. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that health workers will provide assistance so that pregnant women pay attention to increasing body weight during pregnancy based on BMI, so that there are no labor complications due to passanger factors.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy carries the risk of premature birth, low birth weight, and fetus malformations and can impose additional costs on society and families. The prevalence of anemia would be the best indicator to monitor pregnant women’s health and prevent pregnancy complications. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted pregnant women. The prevalence of anemia in pregnancy increased from 38.33% in 2019 to 49.21% in 2020.  In the COVID-19 pandemic situation with social activity restrictions, decreasing family income, and limited access to health services, suffering from COVID-19 are risk factors for increasing the incidence of anemia in pregnancy. This study aimed to determine factors affecting the incidence of anemia in pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic in Karangrejo District, Magetan Regency. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample was selected by purposive sampling with a sample size of 52 study subjects. Data were analyzed using logistic regression analysis with SPSS. Factors that increased the incidence of anemia in pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic were pregnancy interval (OR=17.67; CI 95%= 1.01 to 116.00; p=0.049),  gestational age (OR=11.39; CI 95% 1.12-116.00; p= 0,040), animal protein intake  (OR= 0.25; CI 95% 0.03 – 2.38; p= 0,044), iron supplementation (OR= 108.47; CI 95% 2.36 – 4978.68; p= 0,016), consumption of tea (OR=36,89; CI95% 1.57 to 868.41; p=0.025). Mothers’ education,  family income, parity, frequency of ANC visits, and COVID-19 morbidity do not significantly affect the incidence of anemia in pregnancy. There were effects of pregnancy interval, gestational age, animal protein intake, iron supplementation, and consumption of tea on the incidence of anemia in pregnancy during the COVID-19 in Karangrejo District, Magetan Regency.  Keywords: anemia;pregnancy;COVID-19

Abstract

Songgak is a concoction of the Sasak tribe of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. It consists of coffee mixed with groundwood, cloves, black pepper, coriander, and nutmeg. The original recipe involves roasting the spices before mixing them with coffee, namely using a frying pan over a stove. The roasting process is carried out without controlling the temperature and roasting time, so the roasted ingredients need to be standardized(Dewi et  al., 2021). GCMS is a tool used to analyze compounds in samples using chemical separation methods, mainly chromatography. The compounds in the mixture are separated in a chromatographic column. The separation mechanism between several compounds occurs due to differences in the solubility values of each in the moving solvent and differences in the absorption of each of the competing compounds into the stationary phase (Gross, 2017). In this research, variations will be carried out on spices, namely T1 original treatment of roasting spices over fire for 8 minutes, T2 drying spices in sunlight, T3 oven for 5 minutes, T5 oven for 5 minutes, T4 oven for 15 minutes and T5 oven for 15 minutes. In the T4 treatment, namely oven for 10 minutes, the results of the analysis of the substance content with the most types, namely 20 types, were obtained. The active anti-microbial compound found in all treatments was Hexadecanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-1-(h)(C19 H38 O4) BM:330, which helps inhibit the growth of cancer cells. (National Library Medicine, n.d.). Octadecanoic acid (CAS) Stear (C18 H34 O2) BM:282 Anti-inflammatory, Antiandrogenic Cancer prevention, Hypocholesterolemia Dermatigenic, 5-Alpha reductase inhibitor, Anemiagenic, Insecticide (Natarajan et al., 2019) and Tetradecanoic acid (CAS) Myris (C14 H28 O2) BM:228 as anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive.

Abstract

The focus of the global problem that is of concern both in the world and in Indonesia is the HIV/AIDS case, that reported HIV/AIDS cases in districts/cities in Indonesia were 22,331 HIV cases and 4,534 AIDS cases. Meanwhile in NTB in 2022, there were 1471 accumulated AIDS cases and the addition of 192 new cases, in Central Lombok Regency there were 378 HIV cases and 220 AIDS cases as of September 2022, as well as 211 HIV cases in the MSM group. The strategy determined was to carry out in-depth interviews using the Snow Ball method with 4 informants, namely the VCT/KTH Mandalika Team at Praya Regional Hospital, Management at Praya Regional Hospital, MSM Clients at KTH at Praya Regional Hospital and the HIV Program Holder of the Central Lombok District Health Service. Test the validity of the data with Credibility, Continuous Observation, Triangulation, Transferability, Depreciability, Confirmability. This research has received ethical approval from the Ethics Committee of Qamarul Huda Badaruddin Bagu University with Number: 022/EC/FKES-UNIQHBA/YPPQH/VIII/2023. Management of HIV/AIDS Prevention Services in the MSM Group at KTH Mandalika RSUD Praya still needs to improve the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS prevention, more intensive strategic planning is needed to overcome the increase in HIV prevalence, involving an approach through a TEAM of Field Officers in providing more effective education and social support through VCT services and hotline counseling. Coordination and a stable organizational structure in KTH Mandalika RSUD Praya cannot be ignored, so that response efforts can run more focused. Staff training and development, especially those related to handling PLWHA, needs to be based on objective selection and unit needs, while the use of information technology, such as the SIHA 2.1 application and RS SIM, can be improved to ensure accurate recording and reporting. Management of BHP and ARV availability needs to be optimized through efficient coordination with the District and Provincial Health Services, and regular evaluations need to be carried out to increase distribution efficiency. Implementing the recommendations from 4 informants can have a significant positive impact in managing the management of HIV/AIDS prevention services at KTH Mandalika RSUD Praya, so as to reduce HIV transmission, and provide better support to PLWHA in the MSM community..

Abstract

Population issues are still the main focus of both developed and developing countries including Indonesia. The government through the Population and Family Planning Sector continues to strive to reduce the Total fertility Rate by reducing the drop out rate of contraceptive use. Drop out is the non-participation of fertile age couples to become family planning acceptors. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the drop out of family planning acceptors in West Lombok Regency. Previous studies stated that the factors causing drop out were knowledge, attitudes and distance from health services. The difference between this study and previous researchers is the research method used, the location of the study and the time of the study, and to determine the most dominant factors causing drop out. The research design used Cross-Sectional, a population of 135,076 with a sample size of 100 fertility age couple obtained randomly using the proportional to size method, the research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi square test to determine the effect and the multivariate logistic regression test to see the most dominant effect. Results: Chi Square test of knowledge factor obtained p value 0.000 < from alpha (0.05), motivation factor obtained p value 0.0005 < from alpha (0.05), access factor obtained p value 0.961 > from alpha (0.05), insurance ownership obtained p value 0.001 < from alpha (0.05) and work obtained p value 0.000 < from alpha (0.05) Conclusion: there is an influence of knowledge, motivation, insurance ownership and respondent's work with the occurrence of drop out in family planning acceptors while respondent access has no influence on the occurrence of drop out in West Lombok Regency. While the most dominant factor is motivation with OR value 5.575, meaning KB acceptors who do not have strong motivation have a risk or tendency of 5 to 6 times dropping out as family planning acceptors.

Abstract

Introduction: Parkinson's disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer's disease, progressively affecting both motor and non-motor systems in patients. In addition to the commonly recognized motor symptoms such as tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia, non-motor symptoms such as chronic pain are often underdiagnosed. Pain in Parkinson's patients can manifest in various forms, including musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, and dystonic pain. While pain is not a primary symptom defining Parkinson's, its impact on patients' quality of life is profound, contributing to reduced mobility, sleep disturbances, increased risk of falls, and poor mental health, including depression and anxiety. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the severity of Parkinson's disease, pain levels, and quality of life in Parkinson's patients. Method: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted at the Neurology Clinic of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar in East Java from October 2023 to March 2024, using purposive sampling techniques. We assessed Parkinson's severity (Hoehn & Yahr scale), pain levels (Numeric Rating Scale), and quality of life (Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire-39 (PDQ-39) Indonesian Version). Result: The study found that PDQ-39 INA scores were significantly associated with Parkinson's disease severity (n = 11, p = 0.012), indicating a significant impact of disease severity on quality of life. However, no significant relationship was found between PDQ-39 scores and pain levels (p = 0.117). Pearson correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between Parkinson's severity scale and pain level (r = 0.461, p = 0.154). Specifically, Parkinson's severity significantly affected PDQ-39 scores (p = 0.001), while pain levels did not have a significant effect (p = 0.399). Conclusion: This study reveals that while pain is a critical issue, it is the severity of Parkinson's disease that has a more substantial impact on patients' quality of life.
