Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan observasi terhadap representasi keris yang difungsikan sebagai salah satu strategi konten dakwah yang dilakukan oleh Ustad Salim A. Fillah di platform Youtube. Sebagai sebuah karya seni tradisi, keris dinarasikan oleh Ustad Salim A. Fillah dengan menggunakan pendekatan historis, khususnya pada sejarah persebaran Islam di Nusantara, spesifiknya di Pulau Jawa. Oleh sebab itu, secara kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini mencoba untuk melihat sejumlah strategi Ustad Salim A. Fillah sebagai pendakwah yang membidik penikmat dan pengamat budaya sebagai target dakwahnya. Kerangka teori terkait Representasi yang cukup fenomenal dari Stuart Hall pun menjadi pisau analisis dalam mengolah data. Dari situ kita akan melihat bersama bagaimana strategi Ustad Salim A. Fillah dalam berdakwah dengan membawa representasi keris di setiap konten videonya. Urgensi dari penelitian ini adalah temuan secara konstruktif dalam melihat fenomena integrasi antara seni keris dan strategi dakwah agama Islam, mengingat selama ini keris senantiasa diasumsikan secara liar sebagai benda magis yang dekat dengan kesyirikan

Abstract

This study examines how Shejek, a Sharia-based ride-hailing platform for Muslim women, constructs religious identity and reframes resistance within the context of Indonesia’s digital economy. Unlike mainstream services such as Gojek and Grab, Shejek integrates Islamic principles—including the avoidance of ikhtilat (unrestricted interaction between marriageable individuals) and khalwat (seclusion of a man and a woman in private spaces)—to market itself as a safer and more religiously appropriate transportation option. Through a qualitative content analysis of Shejek’s Instagram posts from 2023 to 2024, this research explores how narratives of urban fear, piety, and gendered safety are strategically deployed in digital branding.Findings reveal that rather than presenting a direct resistance to patriarchal structures, Shejek negotiates empowerment by embedding Islamic values into the platform economy, thereby creating a new form of hegemony. Its use of religious branding and fear-based narratives fosters emotional loyalty and market differentiation but also risks reinforcing exclusionary norms. This study contributes to critical discussions on religious commodification, gendered digital spaces, and the dynamics of cultural power in Southeast Asia’s sharing economy.

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the structure and the meaning of perfection in the song lyrics “Pelukku untuk Pelikmu” by Fiersa Besari and “Sempurna” by Andra and the Backbone. The aim of this research is to reveal how the lyrical elements reflect the concept of perfection. The research approach employs Roman Ingarden's theory of normative strata, which consists of five layers: the sound layer, the meaning layer, the object layer, the world layer, and the metaphysical layer. In addition to Ingarden's theory, this study also applies Hewitt and Flett’s theory of perfectionism, which includes three dimensions: self-oriented, other-oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism. The analysis shows that “Pelukku untuk Pelikmu” emphasizes acceptance of human imperfections through self-acceptance of one's partner. In contrast, “Sempurna” portrays an idealized view of a partner as a perfect figure, strengthening the emotional bond within the relationship. Both songs present different interpretations of perfection, yet both focus on the value of appreciation in human relationships. This study is expected to enrich the understanding of how perfection is perceived in literary works, particularly in song lyrics, and to contribute to the study of Roman Ingarden's normative strata analysis and the concept of perfectionism. Keywords: song lyrics, structural, perfection, perfectionism

Abstract

This research will focus on the increase in sales of popular fiction works in the self-help genre, with the aim of understanding the reasons behind this growth. In accordance with the prevailing principles of production, an augmentation in sales is naturally attributable to the alignment of market interest and the producer's strategy for its fulfilment. Nevertheless, employing the notion of cultural production, this pertains to the process of establishing a connection between the conventional principles concerning mental well-being that are held by Generation Z and those that have been handed down through the generations. The dissemination of such principles within a cross-generational cultural milieu is undoubtedly predicated on the implementation of a meticulously devised strategy, one that is designed to ensure its acceptance. This constitutes the novelty of this research, namely that popular literary production is not invariably viewed from a commercial standpoint.

Abstract

ABSTRAK:            Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri pengelolaan kebijakan kebudayaan pesisir kilen di pesisir utara Jawa, khususnya di Kabupaten Pekalongan. Penelitian ini menjadi penting mengingat masyarakat Pekalongan mengalami saling silang budaya sejak lama antara budaya Jawa, Arab, China dan sebagainya. Oleh karena itu upaya pengembangan budaya asli pesisir oleh Dinas Kebudayaan sangatlah bermakna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan penetapan informan secara snowball. Analisis data mengedepankan proses klarifikasi data agar tercapai konsistensi serta  langkah abstraksi teoritis terhadap informasi dan fakta untuk mencapai pernyatan mendasar sebagai kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya pengelolaan kebudayaan pesisir kilen yang dilakukan Dinas Kebudayaan Kabupaten Pekalongan menjadi sangat penting mengingat sulit untuk mengkontruksikan kebudayaan asli karena masyarakat telah mengalami saling silang budaya sejak lama. Hal yang ironi,  dukungan pendanaan terhadap upaya tersebut masih terbatas. Namun demikian, Dinas Kebudayaan sudah cukup banyak melakukan pengelolaan dan pengembangan budaya, melalui pendataan cagar budaya, kerjasama dengan lembaga pendidikan, pendataan kelompok seni, pengajuan seni tari sintren sebagai warisan budaya takbenda, bantuan peralatan tari, dan sebagainya. Di sisi grassroot, pendanaan seni tari didukung oleh dana pemerintah desa dan dukungan warga lokal.  Implikasi hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun  aspek govermentality lebih kuat, namun kebijakan pengelolaan kebudayaan asli pesisir kilen oleh pemerintah daerah tetap diperlukan dan perlu ditingkatkan.  Abstract:            This paper aims to explore the policy management of  pesisir kilen culture on the north coast of Java, particularly in Pekalongan Regency. This research is crucial regarding the people of Pekalongan have long experienced cross-culture among Javanese, Arab, Chinese and other cultures. Accordingly, efforts to develop indigenous coastal culture by the Culture Office are purposeful. This research applies a qualitative method by snowball sampling. The data analysis prioritizes the process of data clarification to achieve consistency and theoretical abstraction steps on information and facts to reach fundamental statements as conclusions. The results showed that the efforts of the Pekalongan Regency Cultural Office to manage pesisir kilen culture  are pivotal. It is difficult indeed to construct the original culture as the community has experienced cross culture for a long time. Ironically, funding support for these efforts is  limited. Nevertheless, the Culture Office has done a lot to manage and develop culture, through data collection of cultural heritage, cooperation with educational institutions, data collection of art groups, the proposal of sintren dance as an intangible cultural heritage, provision of the dance equipment, and so on. On the grassroots side, dance funding is supported by village government funds and local community support. The implications of this study emphasize that although the governmentality aspect might be stronger, the policy of managing the original culture of pesisir kilen by the local government stays needed and improved.

Abstract

This research focuses on the Behantat Tradition which is still preserved by the people of Sumber Rahayu Village, Rambang District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. Sumber Rahayu Village is one of the villages that still inherits and is strong in noble traditions and culture, although currently most traditions and culture are starting to be eroded by technological advances and globalization. So this research aims to find out the social values and ethics that develop and are contained in the behantat tradition. This type of research is qualitative research using methods including library research which is complemented by interviews to strengthen the data. The author collects information from various sources, such as books, articles, newspapers and relevant online media. Once the information is collected, the data is filtered to find the sources that best suit the research topic. The next step is to note down the important points and organize them into coherent writing that is relevant to the theme raised. The results of this research reveal that the stages of the behantat tradition consist of betandang (proposal), inter-antaran (behantat), mbalasi, and nari (party). There are social values and ethics, namely strengthening social harmony. Social values such as mutual cooperation, caring, and strengthening relationships are reflected in this tradition, where people work together and help each other in its implementation. Apart from that, social ethics such as mutual respect, politeness, responsibility, as well as simplicity and sincerity are also taught, making this tradition not only a cultural heritage, but also a guideline in social life.

Abstract

Despite being a country filled with the diversity of its people, the lack of social inclusion in Indonesia is still quite concerning. Diverse book, book who tells a story of diverse experiences, can be used as a way to build a social inclusion awareness. The Diversitea book club, a book community who introduced the importance of reading diverse books to the Indonesian readers, could play a role in increasing the social inclusion awareness. The main objective of this qualitative study was to analyze the role of The Diversitea book club, a book community whose activities centered on diverse books, in increasing social inclusion awareness. Data were collected from online observations, semistructured online interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed through the lens of qualitative data analysis by Miles and Huberman. The analysis revealed that the activities done by The Diversitea book club have fulfilled the four roles of a book community; encouraging reading, building social relationships between members, a place to discuss and share information, and supporting the wellbeings of individuals. The finding suggests that reading and discussing diverse book could help in increasing social inclusion awareness, and the nature of knowledge sharing in Communities of Practice such as The Diversitea making them a great example for organizations with similar goal; such as the public libraries in Indonesia who need to implement the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali makna simbolis ulos dalam ritual kematian masyarakat Batak Toba, menggunakan pendekatan interpretatif-simbolik Clifford Geertz. Sebagai kain tenun tradisional, ulos bukan hanya artefak budaya, tetapi simbol yang dijiwai dengan makna sosial dan spiritual yang mendalam. Melalui metode berbasis literatur kualitatif, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa dalam konteks kematian, ulos berfungsi sebagai simbol kesedihan yang mendalam, kehormatan akhir, dan harapan abadi bagi keluarga yang berduka. Ritual pemberian ulos mengungkapkan nilai-nilai komunal seperti menghormati almarhum, solidaritas antar kerabat, dan keberlangsungan hidup. Dengan demikian, ulos bertindak sebagai media simbolis yang mengikat yang hidup, yang mati, dan yang sakral, mencerminkan bagaimana masyarakat Batak Toba menafsirkan kematian bukan sebagai akhir, tetapi sebagai transisi dalam siklus kehidupan. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna simbolik ulos dalam ritus kematian masyarakat Batak Toba, dengan menggunakan pendekatan interpretatif simbolik Clifford Geertz. Ulos, sebagai kain adat khas Batak Toba, bukan sekadar benda budaya, melainkan simbol yang sarat makna sosial dan spiritual. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam konteks kematian, ulos berperan sebagai simbol duka mendalam, penghormatan terakhir, serta pengharapan bagi keluarga yang ditinggalkan. Pemberian ulos dalam ritus kematian menunjukkan nilai-nilai kebudayaan yang hidup dalam komunitas Batak Toba, seperti penghormatan kepada leluhur, solidaritas keluarga, dan kelanjutan hidup. Dengan demikian, ulos menjadi sarana simbolik yang mengikat manusia dengan sesamanya, dengan leluhur, dan dengan kekuatan spiritual yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Artikel ini ditulis agar pembaca mengetahui makna ritual/tradisi sego berkat dalam acara Buka Luwur yang diadakan Pengurus Masjid, Menara, dan Makam Sunan Kudus bersama warga se-Desa Kauman, Kecamatan Kota, Kudus, Jateng. Lestarinya tradisi tiap bulan Muharram/Suro. Data riset dari observasi partisipan, mewawancarai warga dan panitia, dan mengkaji referensi. Terkumpulnya data dianalisa dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif. Sego Berkat merujuk UU No 5/2017 bermakna toleran, keragaman, lokalitas, lintas daerah, partisipan, kebermanfaatan, keberlanjutan, kebebasan ekspresi, kepaduan, sederajat, dan kegotongroyongan. Kandungan maknanya yakni material bahwa nasi bahan dikonsumsi dengan keyakinan bertuah bagi si penerima atau bermanfaat sesuai keyakinan, (2) nilai vital yaitu aspek guna hanya tiap bulan Sura/Muharam, (3) aspek rohani yaitu nilai guna sebagai pemantap tamu yang hadir untuk hormat pada Sunan Kudus. Nilai bermuatan religi yaitu kebutuhan Rohani/doa. Fungsi nilai dalam konteks tradisi (1) faktor berharap mendapat keberkahan dari Sunan Kudus dan (2) bertindak untuk melakukan penghormatan pada Sunan Kudus. Tradisi terlestari wujud mendoa dan peduli kepada leluhur, sang Sunan.
