Abstract

Collembola is one of a group of animals that generally live in the soil. Collembola has an important role in the ecosystem due to its function as a subsystem of consumer and decomposition that can be used as bio-indicators. Changing in habitat in the upstream of Brantas River Basin is cause disruption for Collembola community. This is a descriptive research, aims to uncover the information of community structure, including the type found, diversity, evenness, and relative abundance of Collembola in three type habitats (forest, agricultural, and residential). Soil sampling conducted in each type of habitat using TBSF methods. Identification of Collembola samples conducted at the Biology Laboratory of University of Muhammadiyah Malang and verified at Basic Entomology Laboratory, Gadjah Mada University. This study results are; (1) the number of Collembola were found in forest were 21, agriculture were 5, and residential were 17. (2) There is difference in descriptive diversity of Collembola in forest, agricultural, and residential. Collembola species diversity index of forest higher (2.78) compared to agriculture (1.16) and residential (2.42). Forest and residential habitat have moderate diversity, while agriculture has a low diversity. (3) There is difference in descriptive evenness of Collembola in forest, agricultural, and residential. Evenness index Collembola in forest was higher (0.91) than agriculture (0.72) and residential (0.85). Evenness of Collembola in residential is higher than agriculture. All types of habitat, including having a high evenness. (4) There are differences in the relative abundance of descriptive Collembola in forest, agricultural, and residential. Relative abundance of forest, agricultural, and residential varied. The highest relative abundance in forest is Hypogastrura consanguinea, Ascocyrtus sp, and Homidia cingula. The highest relative abundance in agriculture is Pseudachorutes javanicus, Isotomurus palustris, and Ascocyrtus sp. The highest relative abundance in residential is Ascocyrtus sp., Cryptopygus thermophilus, and Isotomurus palustris.

Abstract

This research aimed to ascertain the application of Problem Based Learn­ing model towards student’s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.This research was a quasi experiment research. The research was designed using posttest only control group design using Problem Based Learning as model towards the experi­mental group, as compared to the conventional model. The conventional model was com­plemented with discussion, classical course and question-answer method. The population of this research was all of X degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The sample of this research was taken using cluster random sampling. The data was collected by using essays test, document and through observation. The stated hypotheses was tested using t-test.The conclusion of this research showed that the application of Problem Based Learning model has given significant effect towards student’s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.

Abstract

This is the review which dealed with the curiculum of, both an educational study program generally and biological study program as well. The review showed the importance to set the curiculum up and fit it with the competence based curiculum, since that curiculum has been applied by the user, thus, it needed to response respectively.The first step is, indeed, setting up the curiculum of educational study program, becoming the competence based curiculum. That curiculum setting up by two main steps are defining the targeted output competence, followed by defining the competency for group of subjects and then for each subject. Secondly, is applying the curiculum in a daily educational proccesses, and then give it an assesment, evaluation and review toward the proccesses it self and the output respectively.The competence based curiculum could provide some output as a young teacher which has some competency. However, some certification test is still needed to filter the output and give rise to the high quality and full of competence teacher. Abstract

This study was aimed to 1) improve qualit y of learning through the implementation of NoS based learning, 2) develop form of collaboration between teacher and lecturer in implementation of NoS based learning, 3) implementation NoS based learning model in Senior High School, 4) improve performance of lecturers-teachers through the implementation of based NoS learning, 5) improve learning outcomes on students. This study is a research based learning in Biology Education. The data of NoS covers teachers behavior, student behavior, learning climate and learning materials. The data was analyzed qualitatively. The results show that the implementation of NoS based learning in Biology Education had been appraised as very good by students (67.2%) and team teaching validated as very good (44.56%). Furthermore, students of SMA N 4 considered good (59.66%) and team teaching appraised as very good (81.9%). The students' outcomes had aslso been improved after implementation of NoS-based learning. It can be concluded that the NoS based learning is promised innovation in biology learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the effectiveness of Local Isolate Bacteria from Boyolali (ILB) to decompose organic materials from wasted vegetable and slurry. The result of decomposition were compared to EM4 for control. The laboratory result indicates that Local isolate bacteria from Boyolali were more effective than EM4 to increase N (Nitrogen) content. The ability of Local isolate bacteria from Boyolali was better than EM4 in degrading organic materials of slurry, particularly, towards P (Phosphate). The best concentration of ILB decomposition is 30 %. Liquid fertilizer produced from Slurry with decomposition ILB 30% that applied towards cabbage  increased the weight of cabbage and the length of circumference by 0.5525 gram and 12.67 cm respectively. From the experimental results that it can be concluded that ILB has better capability in decomposing organic material than EM4. ILB has a good potential as decomposter to produces liquid organic fertilizer. Keywords:     Local isolate, decomposter, EM4, Slurry, cabbage

Abstract

ABSTRAK- Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran model formal dan informal hands on activities, pengaruh kreativitas dan sikap peduli lingkungan, serta interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar biologi pada materi Plantae. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen, desain faktorial 2 x 2 x 2 dengan melibatkan dua kelompok eksperimen tanpa kelompok kontrol yaitu kelas XA dan XD, semester genap tahun pelajaran 2011-2012 di SMA Negeri 3 Madiun. Teknik sampling adalah teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes untuk hasil belajar ranah kognitif, sedangkan ranah afektif dan psikomotor diperoleh dari hasil penggabungan antara observasi dengan tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji anava tiga jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) tidak ada pengaruh model formal dan informal hands on activities terhadap prestasi belajar ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa, (2) ada pengaruh kreativitas tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa, (3) ada pengaruh sikap peduli lingkungan tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa, (4) tidak ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran (formal dan informal hands on activities) dengan kreativitas terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa, (5) ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran (formal dan informal hands on activities) dengan sikap peduli lingkungan terhadap prestasi kognitif, sedang untuk afektif dan psikomotor tidak ada, (6) tidak ada interaksi antara kreativitas dengan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa, (7) tidak ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran (formal dan informal hands on activities), kreativitas dan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT- The purpose of this research is to know the comparison of problem based learning models with Guided discovery learning to activities of students of X grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014. This study was a quasi experimental research. The research design was used post-test only nonequivalent control group design. This research applied problem based learning models and Guided Discovery Learning at experimental group. The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X MIPA 4 experiment group I and X MIPA 6 as Experiment group II. Techniques of collecting data were test and non-test methods. The test method examination test. The non-test method included observation of activities student and documentation.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. This research concluded that there are differences activities of student to application of problem based learning and Guided Discovery Learning of grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014.Keywords : activities., problem based learning., Guided discovery learning.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) development of students worksheet Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on Local Potential; 2) test feasibility of the PBL model; 3) determine the effectiveness of PBL model. Analysis of the data used for research and development are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis, as well as the percentage techniques. Research and development of PBL models based on local potential uses 4-D model. The results of research and development showed: 1) product of PBL-based models are developed based on the stages of the Local Potential PBL syntax that uses indicators of critical thinking skills, 2) feasibility of the model PBL-based Local Potential according to experts is very well qualified with average of 92,1 %, qualified by education practition is very well with average of 94,5 %, whereas according to qualified students an excellent with average of 88,2 %; 3) student’s worksheet PBL-based Local Potential effectively improve critical thinking skills and learning results with gain value 9 and N-gain value 0.28 at low category. Based on result of t scores obtainable gain value 9.06 and N-gain value 0.420 at medium category.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran generatif melalui media animasi berbasis flash dan video, keterampilan generik, keingintahuan dan interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kanor Bojonegoro tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Sampel diperoleh dengan teknik cluster random sampling terdiri dari 2 kelas VIII E dan VIII D. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode tes untuk prestasi belajar kognitif dan keterampilan generik, metode angket untuk keingintahuan, serta metode observasi untuk mendapatkan data prestasi belajar afektif dan psikomotor. Data dianalisis menggunakan anava tiga jalan dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2 x 2 menggunakan SPSS17. Berdasarkan hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa: 1. penerapan model pembelajaran generatif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dapat mengatasi kesulitan peserta didik dalam mengerjakan soal yang bersifat aplikatif;  2. pemanfaatan media flash dan video dapat meningkatkan motivasi dalam belajar dan memudahkan siswa dalam mempelajari materi sistem peredaran darah sehingga siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan media animasi berbasis flash memiliki prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor lebih baik dari pada siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan media video;  3. tingkat keterampilan generik siswa memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar sehinga siswa yang memiliki keterampilan generik tinggi memperoleh prestasi kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memiliki keterampilan generik rendah; 4. tingkat keingintahuan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan siswa dan prestasi belajar. Siswa dengan tingkat keingintahuan tinggi memperoleh prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memiliki keingintahuan rendah; 5. media flash dan video memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda, masing-masing memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan. Apabila keduanya diinteraksikan  dengan  keterampilan generik dalam suatu pembelajaran akan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat kecil terhadap prestasi belajar; 6. keterampilan generik dan keingintahuan merupakan dua hal yang saling independen, sehingga apabila keduanya diinteraksikan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum has a pattern in which to create a creative Indonesian human being. The creative thinking abilities is important because it makes learners have many ways to solve problems with different perceptions and concepts. Components of creative thinking abilities include fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Problem solving can be used to increase motivation and cultivate creative traits. The purpose of this research is to describe the achievement aspect of each level of student’s creative thinking ability Program Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University in problem solving of plant ecology. This research method using quantitative approach and descriptive research type. Quantitative data from the result of student answers do written tasks that will be analyzed in percentage, then converted into data description. The result of achievement aspect of each level of student’s creative thinking ability student of Biology Education Lambung Mangkurat University in problem solving namely the creative level with fluency aspect is high, flexibility and novelty is medium. The quite creative level with fluency, flexibility and novelty is medium. The less creative level with fluency is medium, flexibility and novelty is low.
