Abstract

As a result of the development of the current modernization for the next generation, namely considering ancestral culture as a feature of backward society and abandoning traditional lifestyles. These subjects can be approached though biology learning, especially on the utilization of biodiversity sub material. The existence of information delivery through interactive PowerPoint can help students as the next generation to see ancestral culture, not as a feature of backward communities.  The purpose research is to determine the feasibility interactive PowerPoint learning media the sub-material the utilization biodiversity. The research method is descriptive quantitative. The research was carried out in 2 stages, namely an inventory traditional ceremonial plants the Dayak Bidayuh Tribe, Hlibuei Village, and a feasibility test interactive PowerPoint media. Through the inventory stage, we found 20 plants used by the Dayak Bidayuh tribe as ceremonial plants. Media validation consists of 6 validators, namely 3 material experts and 3 media experts. The validation results get the   3.67 by material experts and media experts of 3.65. Based on the category of validity by looking at the value of   obtained, interactive PowerPoint media is suitable for use in learning biodiversity sub-material.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of implementing problem-based learning in lesson study on students' critical thinking skills, especially of the topic human respiratory system. The research method used is a true experiment with a posttest-only control design. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya which consisted of 8 classes with a total number of students was 273. The samples used in this study were 2 classes, class XI MIPA 8 an experimental class with 35 students, and class XI MIPA 7 a control class with 33 students. The sampling technique was carried out by cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in the form of critical skills test a total of 15 things. The instrument is used to test critical thinking skills on the material of the human respiratory system. The data analysis technique was carried out by using a t-test. The results significance value is 0.023<0.05 can be said that there is an effect of problem-based learning models on students' critical thinking skills in the human respiratory system

Abstract

Critical thinking skills include the ability to reason, analyze, make decisions, assess, explain, and self-regulate. This study was to determine the effect of Group Discovery Learning (GDL) on students' critical thinking skills in terms of academic abilities. This was a quasi-experimental research design using a post-test only with a non-equivalent control group design. The population was students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. The subjects were taken using simple random sampling which met the normality and homogeneity tests. The sample was class X MIPA 5 as the control class and X MIPA 2 as the experimental class. Data were collected using essay tests, documentation, and observation. The hypothesis was tested with two-way ANOVA followed by the LSD test. The results show that: (1). Students' critical thinking skills were affected by the group discovery learning model. (2). There is a significant difference between students' academic abilities on critical thinking skills between control and experiment classes. These results can be used for further research in building active and innovative learning models and strategies

Abstract

Higher education has regulations through standard set as quality assurance that must be fullfilled. This study aims to evaluate the learning planning of biology lecturers before carrying out lectures so that they can measure the achievement of the quality of biology learning planning. The research method is descriptive qualitative with QA evaluation technique. The results of the study showed that as a whole there was an increase in the percentage of fulfillment of the components of the lesson plan for a biology education course in 1 year, there were several components that had decreased so that control was needed in the form of solutions as the direction for further improvement programs. In conclusion, the results of the evaluation showed an increase in all components of the lesson plan compared to the following semester, but there were several components that needed improvement

Abstract

Motivated by the needs of students for teaching materials on Respiratory System material, the researcher decided to develop teaching material in the form of electronic handout to support the learning of Respiratory System material. This study aims to produce an e-Handout based on Discovery Learning for Respiratory System Material that is valid, practical, and effective. This research uses a 4D development model with four stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Based on the results of the media and material validity test of e-Handout based on Discovery Learning for Respiratory System Material, the results were very valid. The results of the practicality of media get results with the criteria very practical. The media effectiveness assessment received the very effective criterion with an average classical completion of 86.6%. Based on the results of the research obtained, it can be concluded that the e-Handout based on Discovery Learning for Respiratory System Material is declared valid, practical, and effective for use in learning Biology of Respiratory System material. The developed e-Handout is packaged in a pre-existing form and can be used for independent learning. This research is expected to be a reference for other researchers who will develop similar products on other Biology materials.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to train 21st century skills for SMPN 1 Aikmel students through a scientific approach with a Lesson Study model. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which examines the process of learning science divided into several cycles to reveal the facts of learning. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMPN 1 Aikmel. Lesson Study was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of Plan (composing Lesson design), Do (open class), See (learning reflection), Redesign Lesson design, Do (open class), and See (learning reflection). Based on the results of observations that have been made, it was obtained data on student collaboration skills of 75.1%, critical thinking skills of 72.4%, and literacy skills of 72.5%. From the data it can be concluded that overall collaboration skills, critical thinking skills and literacy skills are in the high category. The results of the study showed that there were changes in students' collaboration skills, literacy skills and critical thinking skills because they were trained through a scientific approach in each cycle of the science learning process that was carried out

Abstract

The city of Magelang has the local potential of the Kebun Bibit Senopati which has a variety of plants that can be used as teaching materials for plant diversity sub-materials. The potential diversity of Anthophyta plants in the Kebun Bibit Senopati can be packaged as a learning resource in the form of a web-module enrichment based on a scientific approach that is more practical and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. This study aims to determine the diversity of anthophytes in the Kebun Bibit Senopati, Magelang City, determine the feasibility of the enrichment web module, and determine the teacher's response to the enrichment web module. This research was carried out using the R&D method with a 4-D model which was limited to the development stage and modified by pre-experimentation. From the results of observations and identification of anthophytes in Kebun Bibit Senopati, it is known that there are 70 species of anthophytes that have been identified and grouped into 23 orders. The assessment of the feasibility of the web-enrichment module from media expert validators is 83.54%, material expert validators are 88.5%, and pedagogical expert validators are 81%. The feasibility of the web module is equipped with the results of the N-gain value, which is in the high category, which is effective as an enrichment learning teaching material. The teacher's response to the development of the web module is strongly agreed upon, accompanied by the acquisition of assessment results from the teacher of 85.83%. The enrichment web module is considered very feasible and effective to be used as teaching material in learning the enrichment of plant diversity sub-materials.

Abstract

Scientific learning is a common approach that is quite effective in learning, especially in learning biology.  This research was conducted with the aim to find out (1) the influence of science skills through scientific learning models, (2) types of scientific learning models that affect students' science skills, and (3) natural science topics using scientific learning models that affect students' science skills.  This research was a meta-analysis study with a qualitative approach that adopted a literature review method by Durst & Edvardsson consisting of the following 4 steps. 15 articles were selected from 27 articles published in the last 5 years (2018-2022). The research article was searched using the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), SINTA Indonesia online database. Results of these analyses show that science skills affected through scientific learning model are 3C, thinking skill, literacy skill, and science process skill. These science skills are influenced through scientific learning model by project-based learning, problem-based learning and discovery learning. Biology topics used in this research are environment, plantae, histology, endocrine system, animal kingdom, ecosystem, and biodiversity; environment is the most commonly used topic in science learning.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of high school students on the circulatory system concept have not reached the expected target. The achievement of basic competencies or learning objectives are not achieved because the learning resources that have been used by teachers and students are not able to strengthen The achievement of basic competencies or learning objectives is not achieved because the learning resources that have been used by teachers and students are not able to strengthen concept abstraction for the topic of the circulatory system.. Augmented Reality (AR) technology is a technology that infuses information from the virtual world and displays it in real (3D) with the help of a computer or mobile phone. This study aims to produce Augmented Reality (AR) assisted learning modules to improve learning outcomes in circulatory system concept. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) research with a research design developed by Hanafin and Peck that consists of three phases, that is the needs analysis phase, design phase, and  development - implementation phase. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that Augmented Reality (AR) assisted learning module on  circulatory system topic was declared very good (86.6%) by experts with review from media experts (85.3%), material experts (90.2%) and experts language (84.3%). This module has characteristics of a printed learning module which includes 3D images equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) technology.. However, it is not yet known how effective this module in improving learning outcomes because it has not passed the product effectiveness assessment. Therefore, the researcher suggests further research, to test the effectiveness of this learning module on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Based on the observation in the class of X F at SMAN 6 Madiun, it showed that students lack of curiosity, low desire in asking and expressing opinions, and lower enthusiasm for reading sources of information. Through the classroom action, this study aim to increase students’ cognitive on biotechnology with problem based learning (PBL) model. This research was conducted with three cycles. The cycle consists of four stages such as planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The target of study amounted to 35 students of class X F. The data collected through pre- and post-test, students’ questionnaires, observation notes and interviews. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result found that after using problem based learning, the students’ cognitive result percentage increased, from 1st cycle 51% to 2nd cycle 60% and 3rd cycle is 86%. Based on the questionnaire data, 49% of students strongly agree that the problem based learning model can help in learning biotechnology. The improvement of percentages cognitive result show the higher number of students complete the material increased in each cycle
