Abstract

Community participation is very much needed in the development process of an area that requires the development of facilities needed by the community directly. The application of community participation in the Kalase'rena sub-district is processing the rice field irrigation system in the sub-district. It is known that this location has rice fields and plantations with a pumping system and a rain-fed irrigation system, because this sub-district is located in a highaltitude area. With these conditions, the welfare of the community is quite lagging behind. Through these conditions, solutions are needed to improve the welfare of the community, especially in the agricultural sector. To support this agricultural sector, an irrigation system or watering of rice fields is needed. The rice field irrigation system was created in stages; identifying areas, conducting location surveys, informing the public about the conditions of rice field irrigation. Then it continues with a system of exploring problems, analyzing the needs of the community/farmers and analyzing in the field both in terms of environmental conditions and the water sources needed. From this data, it is necessary to plan an irrigation canal system with direct management by the community and an open water canal system that can be monitored directly by the community. By planning a manual sluice system and open channels, the level of community satisfaction can be averaged at 79.2%, which really requires irrigation channels for irrigating rice fields in the Kalase'rena sub-district.

Abstract

The fishing community in Puntondo Village, Takalar, relies heavily on income generated from the INS MSMEs. However, their business activities remain relatively simple and have yet to leverage digital markets [1], which limits their distribution reach, operational efficiency, and marketing effectiveness. The aim of this community service program is to transform the fisheries sub-sector—specifically the INS Fisheries MSMEs in Takalar—from a conventional system into a website-based digital system. Digitalization is utilized to address issues such as lack of clarity, limited market coverage, operational inefficiency, competitiveness, and customer trust. As a result, the digitalization of the fisheries sector through website integration is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency, revenue generation, and consumer confidence. Information technology and digitalization are crucial for the continued development of fisheries-based MSMEs, which in turn can improve the coastal economy [2]. This transformation has a profound impact on digital branding, marketing strategies, and information transparency. Accordingly, management training, technology mentoring, inventory system integration, and online marketing have been carried out. Several case studies have shown improvements in market reach, transaction speed, and the professional image of INS MSMEs. The website aids in product distribution and SEO optimization, thereby enhancing credibility. Additionally, the INS MSME is the central subject in outreach efforts involving local fishermen and communities. The observation method includes analysis of sales activities before and after the website launch, as well as monitoring of website usage and consumer engagement online. The analytical method comprises a qualitative analysis of the digitalization program’s impact on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including changes in market reach, operational efficiency, and customer perception, along with empirical comparisons through case study analysis. The primary output of this program is a dedicated MSME website for promotion and transactions, designed around a digital inventory management system, SEO-based marketing, and strengthened customer engagement through social media. This aligns with community development theories, particularly the empowerment of coastal communities through technological and interdisciplinary (technical and economic) approaches to MSME growth. In the results and discussion section, it is described that the main outcome is a functional, SEO-friendly website, which has significantly expanded its national market reach and improved transactional efficiency by reducing manual errors. The specific impacts of the program include enhanced operational efficiency, online ordering, real-time inventory tracking, increased product visibility on Google and e-commerce platforms, improved credibility through customer testimonials, and higher MSME revenue. More significantly, the program has opened opportunities for partnerships with investors and business collaborators, allowing MSMEs to compete digitally with larger platforms. In conclusion, collaboration through digitalization has proven to enhance MSME competitiveness and create partnership and investment opportunities. Nevertheless, challenges such as limited infrastructure and data security threats remain. Therefore, website-based digitalization of fisheries MSMEs is highly effective in advancing the local economy, expanding market reach, and ensuring the sustainability of operational efficiency.

Abstract

Sidrap Regency has a reputation as a rice granary and egg production center in South Sulawesi. Currently, the laying hen population reaches 4,940,118 with a daily production of around 100,000 egg racks. This large production volume also produces very high volumes of chicken feces waste. Currently, this waste simply accumulates around the coop without being processed, causing air pollution, disturbing the environment, and causing health problems. The partner in this community service is the EMAS Cooperative, which has many members from various business sectors. However, several livestock businesses within the EMAS Cooperative do not yet have a dynamic business model process that can effectively manage resources, respond to market changes, and ensure business sustainability. Therefore, an innovation is presented in the form of technology for processing chicken feces into solid organic fertilizer in tablet form with market value, accompanied by the development of a dynamic business model to support sustainable business management. This community service activity is carried out in four main stages: field observation, problem analysis and solution determination, tool design and manufacture, and implementation and mentoring. The implementation results showed that farmers gained knowledge and skills in processing chicken feces waste into organic fertilizer inJurnal Tepat (Teknologi Terapan Untuk Pengabdian Masyarakat), Volume 8, Nomor 2, Tahun 20252tablet form, while also being able to apply a dynamic business model in managing the EMAS Cooperative business in a more adaptive and sustainable manner. Furthermore, training effectiveness measurements also showed improvements in all indicators, with the highest achievement being technical knowledge at 91%, followed by practical skills at 71%, conceptual understanding at 41%, and attitude and motivation at 34%. Business planning skills increased by 27%, although lower than other indicators, still indicating positive development and requiring further mentoring. These findings confirm that community service activities not only produce waste management solutions but also strengthen the managerial capacity of farmers in supporting business sustainability.
