Abstract

This paper presents an extended integrated inventory model with multi vendors that produce one item product and supply it to multi buyers. It is assumed that vendor production rates are not equal and the demands of buyers assumed to be normally distributed and independent. The model formulation was made for each buyer and vendor. Then, each cost component from the buyer and vendor is combined to form the total inventory costs. This model uses the service level as constraint. The final mathematical model consists of formulations of the total inventory costs and with certain service level.

Abstract

Accident Proneness is still a new concept in road safety studies in Malaysia. The study aims to examine the measurement model of personality traits, aggressive driving and accident proneness in a large sample of Malaysian licensed drivers. A further aim is to investigate both direct and indirect effects of personality traits and direct effects of aggressive driving on accident proneness. Data were collected using by-hand survey. Participants were 732 fully licensed motor vehicle drivers, including 490 males and 242 females who completed a questionnaire including the Five Factor Personality Traits, Aggressive Driving, items related to drivers’ accident records and demographic characteristics. The result of PLS-SEM analysis revealed satisfactory measurement model of five factor personality traits, aggressive driving and accident proneness with acceptable convergent and discriminant validity. The results further show that the personality traits of conscientiousness negatively relate to accident proneness and aggressive driving. Openness to experience and aggressive driving are positively related to accident proneness while agreeableness is negatively related to aggressive driving and neuroticism is positively related to aggressive driving. In addition, the results show that agreeableness, conscientiousness and neuroticism have indirect effects on accident proneness through aggressive driving.

Abstract

Abstract— The purpose of this article is to study the knowledge, to create a model for improving the Road Transportation Management Potentiality for linking the special economic zone and border trade in Mukdahan province, Thailand, and to study the effect of increasing the potential of road transport management on business performance. Mixed research method was used. The sample was 316 road freight entrepreneurs in the border economic and trade areas in Mukdahan province, from a population of 1,500 people, including 12 interviewees. Data were collected by using questionnaires and interview forms. The data gathered was tested by using various statistical techniques to ensure that the information is reliable and accurate in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).  The results found that increasing the potential of road transport management for linking special economic zones and border trade in Mukdahan province with Inbound-Outbound Transportation (IOT) had a direct positive impact on Performance of Firm Management (PFM), with the three most important capabilities: security, documentation procedures, and vehicle management, whereas the three most outstanding results are cheaper, faster, and better. To implement this model, entrepreneurs, therefore, need to give first priority in developing operational manuals such as safety standard transportation manual, customs clearance from Mukdahan province to Laos PDR manual, and vehicle management manual.
