Abstract

The integration of technology in education, particularly through the creation of interactive learning media, has gained significant attention as a means to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Developing interactive learning media that incorporates the context of the Betawi Traditional House is essential, given that current educational resources, especially in mathematics, often lack real-world context. This study was conducted at a junior high school in Jakarta, focusing on seventh-grade students during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the Articulate Storyline platform to create interactive learning media, guided by the ADDIE development model. Data were collected through a questionnaire and essay questions, which included five items targeting mathematical reasoning skills. The questionnaire underwent validation by experts, and students provided feedback on the learning media via a separate questionnaire. Analysis of pre-test and post-test scores, using a one-sample t-test, indicated a notable improvement in post-test results compared to pre-test scores. Among the 33 participating students, the highest pre-test score was 12, achieved by just one student, while the post-test's highest score reached 18, accomplished by two students. The interactive learning media, presented as LKPD based on Articulate Storyline and contextualized within the Betawi Traditional House, is effectively designed to enhance students' mathematical reasoning skills in the study of Lines and Angles. This demonstrates that the developed learning media, validated and practical in nature, can significantly boost students' mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

Creative thinking in mathematics and other fields is an important life skill, especially in the era of information and increasingly fierce competition. The low ability of students' creative thinking is due to the learning process and learning methods that have not run optimally. STEAM learning emerged as an effort to overcome the shortcomings of previous learning methods. This research aims to improve creative thinking skills through the development of teaching media in the form of E-LKPD (Electronic Learners' Worksheet) based on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The STEAM-based E-LKPD is designed using Liveworksheet. The method used in this research is the ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The trial was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Jambi City by taking one of the ninth-grade classes at the school with a total of 28 students. Data analysis was measured using a Likert scale, and then the results of the creative thinking ability test were calculated using the N-Gain formula. The results showed that the STEAM-based E-LKPD met the product quality criteria, which included validity, practicality, and effectiveness. It was found that the percentage of material validity was 80% with “valid” criteria, and the design validity obtained a percentage of 91.4% with “very valid” criteria. For the results of the teacher's practicality, a percentage of 90.1% was obtained in the “very practical” category, and for the results of student practicality, a percentage of 82.0% was obtained in the “very practical” category. The effectiveness test obtained 87.8% with the category “very effective”. Then the N-Gain value obtained was 56.5%, which was in the “medium” category. So the STEAM-based E-LKPD teaching media is effective enough to improve creative thinking skills, so it is suitable for use in learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the results of the development of teaching modules based on local wisdom assisted by heyzine flipbook to improve students' numeracy. This research has novelty in the teaching module development approach, namely by integrating local wisdom and the use of heyzine flipbook through the Luther-Sutopo development model (concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, distribution). The approach of local wisdom into learning has an important role in preserving culture and increasing the relevance of teaching materials for students. The research method used was quantitative, with a one group pretest-posttest design. This study involved 23 students of class VII B at SMP Negeri 3 Kalipucang, Pangandaran Regency. Through the pretest and posttest, the study successfully identified significant improvement in learners' numeracy. The average student score increased from 44.28 to 70.85. The average N-Gain value of 0.50 (50%) indicates the achievement of moderate improvement. In addition, statistical analysis using paired sample t-test with a p-value of 0.000 and an effect size of 2.37 proved that the process-differentiated teaching module had a huge impact on improving students' numeracy. The use of this module is effective because it not only improves learning outcomes, but also encourages students to be more familiar with local wisdom in Pangandaran Regency. Thus, this teaching module can be adopted by other educators as one of the tools to support more meaningful learning in improving students' numeracy
