Abstract

In Kelurahan Ulak Karang Utara, Padang City, it produces garbage that comes from households every day. This waste is always thrown into the trash cans and then transported by the Kelurahan cleaners, thrown into the TPS, and finally dumped into the TPA. However, currently, the community has not yet implemented waste processing. Also, PKK mothers do not understand the benefits that can be obtained from sorting the waste in the household. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge and understanding as well as public awareness about waste processing to increase family income. This activity was carried out in Ulak Karang Utara Village, Padang City, with the target of PKK women's activities in Ulak Karang Village. The activity method used was counseling and training. The implementation of the activity began with an initial meeting between the presentation team, the village head, and the PKK's head, Ulak Karang Utara village. Furthermore, socialization was carried out on household-level waste processing at routine PKK women's meetings. At the end of the socialization, a question and answer session was conducted to see the participants' level of knowledge and understanding. The socialization of waste processing at the household level is the first step for PKK women of Ulak Karang Utara Village to sort waste from the beginning and ultimately reduce the amount of waste generated in the TPA. Waste sorting and processing training can be processed into compost so that it can increase family income. It is hoped that from this activity, PKK women can change their minds that sorting waste is carried out from the start starting at home.

Abstract

Most (77%) urban villages in Padang City still have positive cases of COVID-19 and the most are in Koto Tangah District. Prevention and mitigation measures are the key to implementation in health services. During the pandemic, the Public Health Care (PHC) continued to provide services to pregnant, childbirth and postpartum mothers. However, the transmission of COVID-19 to medical personnel and paramedics is getting higher in Indonesia, until July 2020 there were 1.2% of cases. For this reason, it is necessary to ensure that transmission prevention measures are carried out properly. The purpose of this activity is to socialize the “Delivery Chamber” to health workers at the PHC and the Midwives Independent Practice in Koto Tangah District. The method used in this activity is socialization. The outreach activities began with the construction of “Delivery Chamber” and giving them to several PHC and a midwife's independent practice site as a pilot for other health service centers. In addition, there is also a tutorial for making a Delivery Chamber which will be uploaded to Youtube as a virtual socialization medium. According to Aulia, video tutorials on Youtube have an influence on behavior and level of knowledge. The results of this activity were the delivery of Delivery Chamber to the Lubuk Buaya PHC, Anak Air PHC, Air Dingin PHC and Midwife Mariani. It is hoped that health service managers who provide childbirth services during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide a Delivery Chamber and follow the procedures for its use.

Abstract

The concept of sustainable development arises because of concerns about the accelerated deterioration of environmental conditions caused by behavior that only aims to meet needs without considering the negative impact on the environment in the future. One of them is the waste management system which is still carried out with the collect-transport-disposal system. To prevent the negative impacts of waste that are increasing all the time, such as the emergence of vectors, odors, and smoke due to combustion, a better way of waste management is needed, namely reducing waste through reduce, reuse, and recycle (3R). Through fostering students' eco-literacy about the importance of the 3Rs, it is hoped that there will be a change in students' mindset from an early age to prevent future environmental crises and a behavioral transition to a sustainable lifestyle, especially those who are accustomed to reducing waste. The purpose of this activity is to increase school commitment and student behavior to get used to the 3Rs in everyday life. This activity was carried out at SDN 08 Koto Gadang, District IV Koto, Agam Regency, in the form of counseling, 3R leaflets, and the provision of separate trash bins between organic, paper, and plastic. Pre-test and post-test activities were carried out to assess changes in students' knowledge about the extension material provided. This activity indicates an increase in students' knowledge about reducing, reuse, and recycle. It is hoped that schools can take advantage of the trash bins provided so that all school residents can dispose of waste according to its type so that the remaining waste is easier to process in subsequent handling.

Abstract

The purpose of the activity is to use the knowledge gained during the lecture period to be applied to the community, especially those in remote areas. This activity was carried out at Pandam Gadang, which involved 26 students. Pandam Gadang is a Nagari located in Gunuang Omeh District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. Gunuang Omeh District consists of 3 Nagari, namely Pandam Gadang, Koto Tinggi, and Talang Anau. Pandam Gadang consists of six jorongs, namely Jorong Koto Panjang, Jorong Kampuang Gaduang, Jorong Kampuang Patai, Jorong Ikan Banyak, Jorong Koto Marapak, Jorong Sungai Mangkirai. The problems that are often found in Nagari Pandam Gadang are agricultural problems such as pests and plant diseases and the remaining results of sorting oranges, which reduce productivity in agriculture. Gunuang Omeh sub-district is a district that is famous for its sweet oranges, 95% of the livelihoods of the residents of Nagari Pandam Gadang are farmers, so there are many work programs that students can carry out to improve agriculture in Nagari Pandam Gadang. The implementation of this activity uses training methods, socialization of benefits, and the materials needed and how to make them. The activity results are processing the remaining acidic citrus, which will be processed into orange-flavored jelly candy. Apart from being a new Nagari product, processing these leftover sour oranges can also be a selling point at a more economical price and good for health. It is hoped that Nagari Pandam Gadang will carry out evaluation activities on agricultural products or the obstacles faced every month to maximize agricultural production.

Abstract

A bilingual website is an essential component in delivering information in today's digital era. The existence of a website as a credible reference for information can support the implementation of a good organization and improve reputation in the national and international scope. Because of the significant benefits of the website, every organization is required to have a representative website, including educational institutions such as the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Andalas University. Therefore, increasing the capacity of education personnel in managing the website is an urgent thing to do. To achieve this, this activity does modules and provides training for department employees to have basic skills in managing the department's website. Before carrying out the activity, problem identification and finding solutions were carried out using the USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method, followed by a root problem tree and SMART analysis (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). After that, module creation, training, and evaluation are carried out simultaneously. The result of this activity is that the Management Department has a module for website management, and education personnel has increased their website management skills. Education staff feel the benefits of modules and training even at the primary level. It is hoped that in the future, assistance will still need to be carried out to ensure the website remains managed and becomes a means of consultation if education personnel experience problems.

Abstract

Integrated Service Post is one form of community-based health efforts organized by and for the community that aims to empower the community and provide convenience to the community. Communities targeted by Posyandu include pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, women of childbearing age, men of childbearing age, infants and toddlers in obtaining essential health services. The data on the results of the Posyandu activities are recorded in the administration book by the Posyandu cadres. Many Posyandu still records manual data; that is, the data is written in administrative books, which causes cadres to find it challenging to monitor all participants from time to time and make it challenging to report by the Health Office standards. Including one that occurred at the Cendana Posyandu as a partner located in 17, Kahuripan Village, Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City. The solution to this problem is to propose applying an information system that can facilitate data management and administration of partner posyandu, especially in the availability of effective and efficient data. This activity aims to implement the posyandu information system at the Cendana posyandu to improve the quality and accuracy of data management. The result of this activity is the availability of a Posyandu information system in a systematic, effective and efficient manner. It can make it easier for cadres to monitor the development of mothers and toddlers from time to time and facilitate report generation.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a global health problem. On March 11, 2020, WHO declared Covid-19 a pandemic. On May 7, 2020, Indonesia reported 12,776 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 252 positive cases from West Sumatra Province. Based on scientific evidence, Covid-19 can be transmitted from human to human through coughing/sneezing droplets (droplets). Standard recommendations to prevent the spread of infection are using masks, maintaining distance, washing hands regularly with soap and clean water, and others. The purpose of this activity is to increase public knowledge through billboards that explain information related to Covid-19 that can be seen and accessed by many people, increase food security for vulnerable groups through the distribution of necessities, and distribute non-medical masks as an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. This activity was carried out in Jurong Balai Gadang, Nagari Koto Laweh, X Koto District, Tanah Datar Regency. The implementation of the activity consists of three activities: the first activity, namely the installation of billboards regarding the prevention of transmission of Covid-19 and the new normal COVID-19. The second activity is distributing 40 food packages (containing rice, eggs, cooking oil, sugar) to economically affected people by the Covid-19 pandemic. The third activity is the distribution of masks. The results of the activities obtained are that all activities can be carried out correctly. The public can use the installation of billboards as a source of information that can be accessed easily. The provision of necessities can help food vulnerable communities to meet their nutritional needs during the pandemic.
