Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of corn flour (Zea mays L.) substitution on the physical and sensory qualities of onion sticks as an alternative to partially replacing wheat flour. The study was carried out experimentally with three levels of corn flour substitution: 20%, 30%, and 40%. Physical tests included expansion power, thickness, and crispness; while sensory evaluation assessed color, aroma, taste, texture, and thickness. ANOVA test results showed significant effects on expansion power, thickness, and crispness. The Kruskal- Wallis test revealed that the level of corn flour substitution significantly affected thickness, while color, margarine aroma, savory taste, corn flavor, and texture were not significantly influenced. The Tukey test indicated that 20% substitution produced the best thickness quality. These findings suggest that corn flour substitution up to 20% can produce onion sticks with good physical and sensory quality, and support food diversification efforts based on local ingredients to reduce dependence on imported wheat flour.

Abstract

PISA is a triennial international assessment administered to 15-year-old students from countries participating in the OECD. It measures students’ reading literacy, mathematics (numeracy), and science competencies. In addition to academic achievement, PISA also assesses various contextual factors at both the school and student levels that may influence student performance. One psychological factor measured in PISA that may affect students’ numeracy outcomes is anxiety. This study aims to analyze the effect of anxiety on Indonesian students’ numeracy achievement. A simple linear regression model was employed to explain the nature of this effect. The results indicate that anxiety has a statistically significant negative effect on numeracy achievement. However, this factor explains only a small proportion of the variance in students’ numeracy outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the linguistic aspects that construct the microstructure of Sasak healing incantation texts (Mantra) . Microstructure is understood as internal linguistic elements that include lexical choice, grammatical forms, figurative language, as well as the use of repetition and parallelism in the text. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using critical discourse analysis as its method. The research data consist of Sasak healing Mantra obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with traditional healers, as well as recording and documenting the incantation texts. Data analysis was conducted through stages of transcription, classification of linguistic elements, and interpretation of meaning based on cultural context. The results show that the microstructure of Sasak healing mantra is dominated by archaic and religious diction, the use of imperative and declarative sentences, and stylistic features such as repetition, metaphor, and symbolism. These linguistic elements function to strengthen the suggestive and sacred power of the incantations in traditional healing practices. The linguistic aspects of microstructure not only serve as a means of linguistic expression but also as a medium for transmitting cultural values and beliefs of the Sasak community. This study is expected to enrich linguistic studies and oral tradition discourse as well as support efforts to preserve local culture.

Abstract

This study develops the Social-Distributed Micro-MOOC (SDM-MOOC), a digital learning approach that emphasizes social interaction, the use of thinking artifacts, and guided reflection to deepen learners’ conceptual understanding. The model was designed through theoretical review, needs analysis, and an initial pilot involving participants familiar with digital learning platforms. Data were collected from digital artifacts, collaborative conversations, and reflective notes, and were analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the SDM-MOOC framework is capable of fostering a learning ecosystem that makes thinking processes visible, sustains meaningful dialogue, and enables learners to reorganize their understanding through structured reflection. Participants demonstrated cognitive growth through a sequence of activities including stimulus engagement, artifact creation, collaborative discussion, and reflection. These results highlight that even simple digital platforms can serve as effective spaces for collaboration and knowledge construction when supported by appropriate pedagogical design. This study provides both conceptual and practical foundations for implementing socially oriented microlearning. The SDM-MOOC model holds potential for use across diverse educational settings and opens avenues for further research exploring artifact quality, discussion dynamics, and the relationship between distributed learning processes and learners’ conceptual development

Abstract

This study examines the strategies implemented by teachers at the Caha Tana'o Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) in Tonda Village in developing a culture of Islamic religious education literacy and its impact on students. Using a descriptive approach that involved interviews with teachers and 10 students, as well as observation and documentation, several innovative strategies were identified, including project-based learning, group discussions, the use of digital media, and routine Quran reading activities. These strategies have been proven to increase students' reading interest from 60% to 80%, their understanding of religion by up to 90%, and their student learning independence. The methodology used is a qualitative approach, with data analysis through reduction, presentation, and conclusion, in accordance with the Miles and Huberman method, with purposive subjects in a rural location with a population of approximately 1,500 people. The main findings indicate that contextual strategies that integrate local Islamic values have the potential to provide positive impacts, despite being faced with challenges such as a lack of resources (60% of TPQ lack books), low reading interest (30%), and limited internet access. Comparisons with other TPQs, such as Al-Falah, demonstrate the potential for community adaptation. The study recommends teacher training, parent-community collaboration, and resource provision to ensure the sustainability of holistic religious literacy at TPQs.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of ecological literacy in online news coverage of plastic waste reduction campaigns published by The Jakarta Post. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis, the study analyzed twelve English-language online news articles to identify how ecological literacy elements are embedded in environmental reporting. The analysis was guided by an ecological literacy framework focusing on five key dimensions: Ecological Knowledge, Environmental Awareness, Affective Engagement, Responsible Behavior, and Systematic Thinking. The findings indicate that ecological knowledge and environmental awareness are the most dominant dimensions, reflected through scientific explanations, problem-oriented narratives, and factual descriptions of the impacts of plastic waste. Meanwhile, affective engagement and systematic thinking appear less frequently due to the news' structural characteristics that prioritize objectivity and concise information. Responsible behavior is represented through descriptions of concrete environmental actions and sustainability initiatives. Overall, this study shows that online news serves not only as a source of information but also as an informal educational medium that contributes to increasing ecological literacy and environmental awareness. These findings highlight the important role of online journalism in supporting sustainability discourse and plastic waste reduction efforts in Indonesia.Analysis of Eco-Literacy in Online News Coverage of Plastic Waste Reduction Campaigns
