Abstract

This study analyzes the potential of Indonesia’s ecotourism as a soft power instrument in digital public diplomacy through the CubMu platform and the YOLO (You Only Live Once) program. The main objective of this research is to examine how environmental narratives are constructed and disseminated through digital storytelling as part of Indonesia’s efforts to build a sustainable global image. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review and digital discourse analysis, this study finds that CubMu’s communication practices contribute to framing ecotourism as a reflection of Indonesia’s commitment to global environmental issues, although its dissemination remains predominantly regional. The YOLO program demonstrates potential in reaching the global youth audience through emotionally engaging and visually appealing narratives; however, its effectiveness is limited by risks of over-commercialization and digital infrastructure gaps in rural areas. The study concludes that integrating ecotourism and digital diplomacy can strengthen Indonesia’s position as a proactive actor in environmental diplomacy while opening new avenues for sustainability-oriented soft power.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities continue to face various challenges, including dependence on external assistance, limited access to economic resources, non-inclusive policies, and programs that have not fully supported sustainable independence. This study offers an alternative perspective by applying a strengths-based approach, which views persons with disabilities as individuals with potentials, capacities, and resources that can be developed. The analysis employs the ROPES framework (Resources, Options, Possibilities, Exceptions, and Solutions) proposed by Clay Graybeal to identify individual and collective strengths. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study explores the lived experiences and capacities of persons with disabilities within their social context. The research was conducted among members of the “Tumbuh Mandiri” Disability Farmers Group in Cimahi City, Indonesia. Informants consisted of one group leader and two administrators selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that strengths-based and experiential learning processes within the group play a significant role in fostering members’ social and economic independence. These results suggest that a strengths-based approach provides an important foundation for designing inclusive, sustainable, and capacity-oriented disability empowerment programs.Persons with disabilities continue to face various challenges, including dependence on external assistance, limited access to economic resources, non-inclusive policies, and programs that have not fully supported sustainable independence. Abstract

Rapid environmental changes require organizations, including education and training institutions, to develop high adaptive capabilities, commonly referred to as organizational agility. This study aims to examine the role of ambidextrous leadership and self-serving bias in enhancing organizational agility through psychological safety as the mediating variable in non-formal education. A quantitative research design was employed using a survey method involving 108 employees of Build Better Communication, a non-formal education. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that ambidextrous leadership has a positive and significant effect on organizational agility (β = 0.394; p < 0.05) and psychological safety (β = 0.568; p < 0.05). Psychological safety also has a positive and significant effect on organizational agility (β = 0.335; p < 0.05). Self-serving bias has no significant direct effect on organizational agility (β = 0.028; p > 0.05), but it significantly influences psychological safety (β = 0.245; p < 0.05). Furthermore, psychological safety partially mediates the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and organizational agility (β = 0.190; p < 0.05) and fully mediates the relationship between self-serving bias and organizational agility (β = 0.082; p < 0.05). The R-square values of 0.412 for Psychological Safety and 0.433 for Organizational Agility indicate a moderate explanatory power of the model. These findings highlight the critical role of ambidextrous leadership and psychological safety in enhancing organizational agility and emphasize psychological safety as a key psychological mechanism linking leadership behavior and cognitive bias to organizational adaptability.

Abstract

Arabic language learning at the secondary school level requires effective instructional strategies to enhance students’ vocabulary (mufradat) mastery, which serves as a fundamental component of language proficiency. However, conventional teaching methods that rely heavily on memorization often lead to low student engagement and limited vocabulary comprehension. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Make a Match learning model in improving students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery at the secondary school level. This research employed a quantitative experimental approach using a true experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group. The participants consisted of 20 students from SMA Negeri 6 Kendari, who were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through vocabulary achievement tests, classroom observations, interviews, and documentation. The experimental group was taught using the Make a Match learning model, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative statistical techniques to compare students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the treatment. The results indicated that students who were taught using the Make a Match learning model demonstrated higher levels of vocabulary mastery compared to those taught using conventional methods. Improvements were observed in students’ pronunciation accuracy, vocabulary recognition, and ability to match vocabulary with visual representations. The interactive and cooperative nature of the Make a Match model also increased students’ motivation and active participation during the learning process. In conclusion, the Make a Match learning model is effective in enhancing students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery by promoting active learning, cooperation, and the use of visual media. This model can be considered an alternative instructional strategy for Arabic language teachers to improve vocabulary learning outcomes and create a more engaging learning environment.

Abstract

Amid the increasing complexity of cultural and religious diversity in public schools, maintaining the sustainability of inclusive Islamic values is becoming increasingly urgent. This study aims to examine how Islamic education in multiethnic schools can be a space for identity negotiation between Islam and Chineseness, especially for Chinese students at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak City. This study uses an anthropological approach with qualitative methods, involving participatory observation and in-depth interviews with 9 informants, consisting of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, homeroom teachers, Chinese students, and parents. The results show that the practice of Islamic education in this school is carried out through a humanistic approach that is open to diversity, without emphasizing cultural uniformity. Interethnic interactions run harmoniously and contribute to the formation of tolerance values and cross-cultural understanding. Islamic education not only functions as a medium for fostering religiosity, but also strengthens inclusive citizenship identity. This study contributes to the development of a pedagogical model based on local wisdom and universal Islamic values in creating a moderate, fair, and adaptive learning space in a multicultural formal education environment.

Abstract

Digital education transformation often focuses solely on infrastructure without addressing managerial aspects and character values. This study aims to analyze digital technology-based learning strategies at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok Sleman, a school that integrates the digital school concept with strengthening Islamic character. Using a qualitative case study design approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of the principal, curriculum, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted with the help of ATLAS.ti 9 software to ensure objectivity and depth of theme categorization. The results show that the school's strategy rests on the integration of the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) framework packaged within the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management unique to Muhammadiyah. Key findings reveal that the success of digitalization lies not only in the availability of devices but also in the formation of a digital ecosystem that aligns with the school's religious identity. This study contributes to the digital school management model in faith-based educational institutions.

Abstract

The success of education as a system in schools is determined by many factors, and one of them is teacher performance. It plays a strategic role in the overall education and learning process at school. Teacher performance is understood as the work performance and appearance of teachers in carrying out their profession professionally and effectively to produce quality graduates. Many factors can influence teacher performance in schools, two of which are educational supervision and strong motivation. The aim of this research is to describe the influence of principal supervision and motivation on teacher performance at MTS Muhammadiyah Garut. The research method used in this study is the survey method with correlational analysis. This means that data is collected with the help of questionnaires. In this study, the instrument used to gather data on the three variables being researched was a questionnaire. Based on the data analysis results, it is concluded that: 1) The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a significant positive relationship between the independent variables of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2) and the dependent variable of teacher performance (Y) with a correlation coefficient of 0.874. The multiple regression relationship is linear with the equation model Y = -44.596 + 1.021 X1 + 0.606 X2; 2) The independent variables of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2), both individually and together, make a significant contribution to the dependent variable of teacher performance (Y). The contribution of each independent variable to the dependent variable is as follows: school principal supervision variable is 67.8% and motivation variable is 48.8%. The contribution of both independent variables together to the dependent variable is 76.4%. Knowing that the contribution of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2), 76.4%, to the performance of the teacher (Y), it can be concluded that 23.6% of the performance of the teacher is due to other factors

Abstract

Empathy and sympathy are essential elements in character development and social harmony, especially during adolescence. In the context of education, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in instilling these values thru learning integrated with Islamic moral and social teachings. However, at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi, low levels of empathy and sympathy were still found among 7th-grade students, as reflected in their lack of caring behavior and weak positive social interaction. This study aims to analyze teachers' strategies in fostering empathy and sympathy among seventh-grade students thru Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained thru observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed descriptively thru data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing processes. The research findings indicate that PAI teachers employ several key strategies, namely modeling attitudes, cultivating positive social behaviors, discussions and group work, integrating Islamic values into learning materials, and a personal approach to students. These strategies have been proven to foster the development of empathy and sympathy in students, as demonstrated by their caring attitude, mutual respect, helpfulness, and ability to understand the feelings of others in school life.
