Abstract

In recent years, Yogyakarta has been suffered by a series of religious intolerances, an ubiqutious phenomena caused by decrease of religious literacy. By considering the pivotal role of student in maintaning religious harmony, this research, hence, will examine the level of religious literacy among the students of State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga and Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Yogyakarta. According to experts, religious knowledge alone does not necessarily make someone tolerant. However, this is different from religious literacy, which can foster the development of tolerance. Drawing on those gaps, this research is aimed to analyze the level of religious literacy among the college students in Yogyakarta by using quantitative approach and the method of statistic descriptive. By investigating three main components of religious literacy respectively, religious knowledge, religious multi-interpretation, and religious literacy, I found that the students have different level in each; they occupy the level of ‘quite high’ to ‘high’ for the first variable, ‘low’ to ‘quite high’ for the second and third variable. From the result, I finally argued that the religious literacy does not go in line with the religious knowledge highly accumulated by the students.

To ensure the quality of education, the Indonesian government has taken various measures through a range of programs, both educational and non-educational. However, the strategies implemented have not been fully integrated, so special programs are considered necessary to strengthen teacher professionalism. This study aims to analyze regulations, government policies, and literature related to teacher certification and PPG to explain their role in improving teachers' professional competence, especially in developing the quality of Islamic education. This study applies a qualitative literature review approach in examining various laws and regulations as well as relevant academic literature. It analyzes regulations, academic literature, and government policies related to teacher certification and PPG. The results of the study explain that the certification and PPG programs have an important role in increasing the professional competencies that teachers should have. This can be done through strengthening the curriculum, competent human resources, teaching and learning facilities and infrastructure, and field experience. The implementation of PPG has proven to be able to produce competent, certified, and competitive teachers, thereby contributing significantly to the development of education quality, especially Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a strategy for internalizing moral values through psychomotor-based fiqh learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurayin and to evaluate its effectiveness in enhancing students’ practical skills. The study is motivated by the gap between students’ cognitive understanding of moral values and their implementation in daily activities. A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted, with subjects consisting of fiqh teachers and ninth-grade students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman (1994) through data reduction, data display, and verification. Findings indicate that a learning strategy combining worship practices, reflection on meaning, habituation, and teacher modeling can improve the consistency of students’ ethical behavior and psychomotor skills. The learning process encourages a shift from normative compliance to reflective moral awareness, although the degree of internalization varies. The study concludes that moral value internalization is effective when supported by a consistent school culture, psychomotor evaluation, and learning that integrates cognitive, affective, and practical aspects. This research contributes to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in fiqh education through a reflective-transformative model that integrates ethical values and practical skills, making learning more contextual, applicable, and impactful in students’ daily lives.

Abstract

This article aims to conceptually analyze the integration of the learning outcomes framework with the orientation of Islamic Religious Education in responding to the dynamics of a digital society oriented toward human-centered development. Technological advancement requires religious education to emphasize not only knowledge mastery but also the formation of moral attitudes, spiritual values, and practical competencies of students. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing academic books, national and international journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. Data were analyzed using content analysis to examine the relationship between cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions within a holistic Islamic education framework. The findings indicate that the integration of learning outcomes taxonomy (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) strengthens Islamic Religious Education learning systematically and holistically. The cognitive domain builds understanding of Islamic teachings, the affective domain internalizes spiritual-moral values, and the psychomotor domain actualizes practice in real life. In the context of Society 5.0, Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in fostering digital literacy based on Islamic values, technology ethics, and humanistic awareness. This integration has implications for formulating holistic objectives, participatory teaching strategies, and comprehensive, authentic assessment, enabling Islamic Religious Education to develop a generation that is faithful, morally noble, and wise in utilizing technology.

Abstract

This study explores the systematic integration of KH Imam Zarkasyi's philosophical Independence Values (Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School) with the Differentiated Learning framework in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia. The Independent Curriculum prioritizes Differentiated Learning as a student centered pedagogical approach, which automatically demands a high level of self regulation from students. Although the independence values of Islamic boarding schools have proven successful in building students' self regulating character, there is a significant gap in the literature regarding the integration of this traditional educational philosophy with modern approaches such as differentiation. Through a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature review, this article aims to formulate a strategic integration model. The results show that integration is achieved by strengthening three elements of differentiation using Gontor values, Process Differentiation strengthened by the concepts of Self Reliance and Discipline that shape responsible freedom, Product Differentiation strengthened by the principles of Initiative, Independence, and Adab to ensure the originality and usefulness of the work, and Content Differentiation strengthened by the principle of Itqan (complete mastery) to ensure all students achieve a fundamental understanding before undertaking further exploration. This integration results in a holistic learning ecosystem, where student freedom is framed by strong moral and academic standards, strengthening the identity and relevance of national education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of maritime and Islamic values and their relevance as a basis for developing an Islamic education curriculum in coastal areas. The study used a qualitative approach with  thematic library research. Data were obtained from reputable journal articles, academic books, research reports, and policy documents relevant to Islamic education, coastal local wisdom, and maritime values, published in the last ten years. Data analysis was conducted using the Braun and Clarke thematic analysis model through the stages of coding, grouping themes, and interpreting meaning. The results show that maritime values such as work ethic, discipline, courage, social solidarity, and ecological concern have substantial alignment with Islamic values, especially the concepts of caliph, trustworthiness, gratitude, hard work, and the prohibition of environmental damage. The integration of these values is relevant for developing a coastal Islamic education curriculum that is contextual, ecological, and oriented towards the formation of students' religious-social character. The research conclusion confirms that the integration of maritime and Islamic values is a strategic approach in responding to the socio-ecological needs of coastal communities and can be a conceptual basis for the development of a sustainable Islamic education curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of Ibadurrahman in QS. Al-Furqan verses 63–74 based on the perspective of Tafsir Al-Munir by Wahbah Az-Zuhaili and examine its relevance to character education in the family. This study uses a library study method by examining primary sources in the form of tafsir books and secondary sources in the form of books, journals, and relevant scientific research. The results of the study indicate that the values of Ibadurrahman include the attitude of tawadhu', politeness in communication, the ability to control emotions, commitment in worship, and a life orientation based on the values of the Qur'an. These values have strong relevance to the process of character development of children in the family environment, especially in forming religious attitudes, self-control, and polite social behavior. Based on the results of the analysis, this study formulates a conceptual model of family education based on the values of Ibadurrahman which includes the objectives of character formation, habituation strategies in the family, and indicators of children's character achievement. This model is expected to be a conceptual framework in strengthening character education based on the values of the Qur'an in the family environment.
