Abstract

This study addresses the limited variety of engaging learning resources for teaching dance in elementary schools by developing SliMotion, an educational medium designed for third-grade students within the topic of movement and expression. The development process followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), integrating a board game and flashcards to encourage creativity, motivation, and active participation in learning dance. Data collection involved questionnaires validated by one content expert, one media expert, one practitioner, and trials conducted with 17 students. Data were analyzed using both qualitative descriptive and quantitative approaches. Validation results showed an average score of 3.65, categorized as very valid, with feasibility ratings above 92% from experts and practitioners. Student responses indicated high practicality at 93.2%, confirming that the medium is effective and easy to implement. The findings demonstrate that SliMotion provides an innovative and enjoyable alternative to conventional methods, significantly improving student engagement and learning outcomes. The originality of this research lies in integrating board game mechanics with expressive dance education, a rarely explored combination. This contribution highlights the potential of gamified media to enrich elementary arts education and promote interactive, student-centered learning.

Abstract

Marriage readiness is an essential factor that should be carefully considered before deciding to marry. Individuals who choose to enter marriage are expected to possess emotional maturity and stability, as these aspects significantly contribute to their ability to manage the demands and responsibilities of marital life. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional maturity and marital attitudes on marriage readiness among Generation Z. A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis was applied to data collected from 400 unmarried Generation Z individuals in Pekanbaru City, Indonesia. The results revealed that both emotional maturity and marital attitudes had a positive and significant effect on marriage readiness (R = 0.643, R² = 0.414, p < 0.001), indicating that 41.4% of the variance in marriage readiness was explained by the two predictors, while the remaining variance was attributed to other factors. More specifically, emotional maturity (β = 0.449, p < 0.001) showed a stronger influence than marital attitudes (β = 0.372, p < 0.001), suggesting that emotional regulation, self-control, and psychological stability play a dominant role in shaping individuals’ readiness for marriage. These findings highlight the importance of developing premarital counseling and emotional management programs to help young adults enhance their readiness for a stable and harmonious marital life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth how religion functions as a source of moral and social legitimacy in confronting and resisting racism as depicted in Joko Anwar’s film The Siege at Bukit Duri. The film was chosen because it portrays complex social dynamics where religion operates not only as a belief system but also as a moral foundation that strengthens solidarity amid social tension and identity conflict. This research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis design to interpret the symbolic meanings of scenes that portray discrimination, injustice, and the community’s resistance against social and political hegemony. Émile Durkheim’s theory serves as the main framework to explain religion’s role as a social fact that shapes collective consciousness, maintains moral order, and reinforces human values. The findings show that religious symbols such as the hijab, religious figures, and the slogan “we are all the same” act as forms of moral legitimacy that strengthen solidarity against discrimination. The urgency of this research lies in its contribution to expanding the sociology of religion through popular media, which reflects contemporary social realities and demonstrates how religious values can become a means of resistance to domination.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of Arabic language curricula based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the European and international contexts using content analysis with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through a literature study of CEFR-based Arabic language curricula and related publications. The analysis included data reduction, categorization, and interpretation, with validity ensured through source triangulation and verification against official CEFR documents and related institutions. The CEFR has become a global standard in language learning, including Arabic, which is used to assess language competence objectively. This study examines policy documents, academic syllabi, and related publications to explore how CEFR principles are applied in Arabic language curricula in various countries. The results of the analysis show that the development of a CEFR-based Arabic language curriculum demonstrates progress in the standardization of Arabic language learning at the European and international levels. The CEFR provides a measurable leveling framework and encourages communicative and contextual learning. This curriculum emphasizes competence in the four language skills with descriptions of the abilities at each level. However, its implementation still faces obstacles such as limited materials, linguistic and cultural differences, and a lack of teacher training. Collaboration between institutions is needed for the effective and sustainable implementation of the CEFR.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid growth of the global halal industry, which continues to expand, including in Indonesia. The Governor of Riau has designated Riau as one of the national halal destinations due to its strategic location near Malay countries. The development of the halal industry in Riau is supported by government policies that implement Islamic standards from upstream to downstream sectors. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as socio-economic entities play an important role in the value chain of the halal ecosystem. Dumai City, known as the “City of Dreams,” has been declared a halal industrial zone. However, the city faces five major challenges: drug abuse, promiscuity, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and the spread of heretical teachings. These challenges contradict the vision of establishing a halal city. This study aims to analyze the efforts and roles of pesantren business units as drivers of the halal ecosystem capable of creating social change and influencing community behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative method involving three pesantren in Dumai City, the findings indicate that pesantren can serve as exemplary institutions in applying Islamic values to economic practices through the principles of honesty, justice, balance, trustworthiness, and the avoidance of riba(usury). Interviews also revealed that pesantren administrators instill four main principles in managing economic activities—honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), public benefit (maslahah), and freedom from riba. In conclusion, pesantren can serve as role models for the community in integrating Islamic values into economic activities and implementing sharia principles in everyday life.

Abstract

Pesantren are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and play a central role in shaping the character of the Muslim generation. Amidst the development of globalization and modern technology, pesantren are required to maintain their Islamic scholarly identity while adapting to the competency requirements of the 21st century. This study analyzes the approach to character building of santri (students) at two types of pesantren in South Tapanuli: Pesantren Mushtofawiyah, which represents traditional pesantren, and Pesantren Darul Mursyid, which represents modern pesantren. Using a qualitative method with a case study design, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of curriculum documents and character building programs. The results show that the Mushtofawiyah Islamic Boarding School develops the character of its students through mastery of classical Islamic texts, intense worship, simplicity, discipline, and the exemplary behavior of the kiai, thereby producing students who are religious, humble, and deeply rooted in classical Islamic tradition. In contrast, the Darul Mursyid Islamic boarding school applies an integrative approach that combines religious education, science, technology, foreign languages, and life skills so that students are more adaptive, communicative, and critical. The study concludes that both pesantren play a strategic role, but excel in different aspects. Moderate integration between tradition and modernization is seen as the ideal model for producing a generation of Muslims who are moral, critical, digitally literate, and ready to face global challenges.

Abstract

Mamak is also known as penghulu or Datuk in the Minangkabau community's governmental structure. Datuk has duties and responsibilities towards the education of Kemanakan. As society has developed rapidly, the Minangkabau region is no longer inhabited only by the Minang tribe, but also by people from outside the Minang tribe. Naturally, the duties of the Datuk as the highest leader in the traditional government structure in Minangkabau to educate the Kemanakan have increased. Moreover, in Minangkabau society, there are the terms Kandung Kemanakan and Malakok Kemanakan (children of adopted siblings). However, nowadays, sometimes the person entrusted as Datuk is not in Ranah Minang, some have migrated to other areas, leaving behind the duties that should be carried out in the village. Even those appointed as Datuk themselves were not born, raised and grew up in Ranah Minang but in other areas. As a tribe with the philosophy of adaik basandi syara', syara' basandi kitabullah (customs based on Sharia law, Sharia law based on the Holy Book), the implementation of these duties must be in accordance with Islamic teachings, where the Qur'an is the guideline for life. Observing this condition, it is necessary to conduct a study on the duties and responsibilities of the Datuk in educating kemanakan from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of Mamak in educating kamanakan from the perspective of Islamic teachings, with the hope of revitalising the role of Mamak as educators in Minangkabau. The results of this study show that Mamak, as educators, have a responsibility to educate kamanakan in morals and provide education in social life, in accordance with Islamic teachings. This research is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation studies.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the educational policies of the New Order regime, particularly in Islamic religious education, and their impact on the advancement of Islamic education in Indonesia. The approach used is qualitative, using a library research method. Data sources are derived from secondary literature, including books, academic journals, and related scientific publications. Data were collected through a systematic search of documents analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the following stages: source selection, theme categorization, content analysis, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that the New Order's educational strategy prioritized the continuous and in-depth instillation of the ideals of Pancasila throughout society, primarily through education and training. The P4 improvement program and standardized curriculum facilitated the advancement of Islamic educational institutions, such as Islamic madrasas and universities, by integrating the national and religious curricula. This study concludes that the New Order era marked the beginning of the modernization and advancement of Islamic education within the national education system. This period saw a growing awareness of the challenges facing Islamic religious education, prompting the Ministry of Religious Affairs to formulate new policies that implemented various forms of Islamic education, including classical Indonesian Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), Islamic religious institutions (Diniyah), private Islamic schools, public Islamic elementary schools (SDIslamic elementary schools), and state Islamic religious institutions (LPIs). Consequently, the New Order period emerged as a significant chapter in the historical evolution of the modernization of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Medina as a center of Islamic scholarship and education during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). After the migration from Mecca, the Prophet Muhammad made Medina not only the center of government, but also the center of civilization and the development of Islamic knowledge. Educational activities during that period took place through several institutions such as the Prophet's Mosque, Suffah, and Kuttāb, which served as means of fostering faith, worship, morals, and literacy among the Muslim community. This study examines in depth the Islamic education system in Medina during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which includes educational institutions, the role of the companions as teachers, and the learning methods applied by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the main educator with the support of his companions who also acted as teachers. The educational methods applied included exemplary behavior (uswah ḥasanah), dialogue, habituation, memorization of the Qur'an, and the dispatch of teachers to various regions. This research uses a literature study method with a descriptive qualitative approach to examine primary and secondary sources regarding the Islamic education system during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), using in-depth analysis and a literature review. The results of the study show that education in Medina is integral, inclusive, and oriented towards the formation of a well-rounded personality, covering cognitive, spiritual, social, and moral aspects. The education system established by the Prophet Muhammad in Medina became the main foundation for the birth of a sustainable Islamic scholarly tradition that remains relevant as a model for Islamic education throughout the ages, integrating structured institutions, competent teaching staff, and effective learning methods.
