Abstract

Guidance and counseling (GC) services across educational, public health, and industrial contexts face core challenges: limited professional workforce, geographical barriers, and stigma that impede user access. This systematic literature review analyzes the potential of AI chatbots as a supportive solution for GC services in the digital era. Data were collected from 32 scientific journals (2018–2025) and practical reports, then analyzed using a thematic approach. The findings reveal that AI chatbots improve service accessibility through three key avenues: (1) 24/7 availability without location restrictions, (2) up to 40% reduction in operational costs for service providers, and (3) stigma mitigation via anonymous interactions. Additionally, chatbots equipped with natural language processing (NLP) algorithms and psychological data training enhance service effectiveness by delivering initial mental health symptom screening (78% accuracy based on a case study in Indonesian secondary schools), simple coping guidance, and referrals to professionals when necessary. However, the study identifies critical challenges: the risk of misinterpreting emotional context, limitations in addressing complex cases (such as severe depression), and user data privacy concerns. Based on these results, the study recommends a collaborative model between AI chatbots and GC professionals, as well as the implementation of strict data regulations to ensure service safety and relevance. This review concludes that AI chatbots are valuable supportive tools for expanding the reach of GC services but cannot replace the human role in addressing complex emotional needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of arrowroot flour (Maranta arundinacea L.) substitution on the physical properties and sensory quality of peanut rempeyek. The research was conducted at the Food Processing Laboratory, Culinary Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, from April 2025 to October 2025. The method used in this study was an experimental method. The research samples were peanut rempeyek with arrowroot flour substitution at levels of 20%, 35%, and 50%. The physical test included oil absorption measurement using oil paper, carried out in three replications for each sample. The hypothesis testing for physical properties was analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test. The results showed that arrowroot flour substitution at 20%, 35%, and 50% significantly affected oil absorption, with the lowest oil absorption found in the 50% substitution treatment. The sensory evaluation was conducted with 45 semi-trained panelists. Based on the Kruskal-Wallis test, the results indicated that arrowroot flour substitution at 20%, 35%, and 50% did not significantly affect the sensory attributes of peanut rempeyek across all evaluated aspects. Sensory quality assessment revealed that all three products had comparable quality. The conclusion of this study is that the 50% substitution sample was the best treatment in terms of oil absorption. Therefore, peanut rempeyek with 50% arrowroot flour substitution is recommended to optimize the utilization of arrowroot flour as an alternative to rice flour.

Abstract

This study examines the Finnish curriculum through a systematic literature review to explore its strengths, challenges, and implications for education. The Finnish curriculum emphasizes a holistic approach, supporting multilingualism, broad literacy, competence development, teacher autonomy, collaboration, interdisciplinary integration, and pedagogical continuity from early childhood to higher education. Multilingualism is recognized as an educational resource that promotes linguistic diversity and social equity, while literacy encompasses critical thinking, science, health, music, soft skills, and entrepreneurship. Teachers are granted significant flexibility to design multidisciplinary learning and collaborate with local communities, although variations in practice persist. Integration of subjects and experiential learning enhances holistic understanding and critical thinking skills. Despite challenges such as language hierarchies, uneven teacher implementation, and the need for additional pedagogical support, the Finnish curriculum represents an inclusive, progressive, and future-oriented model of education. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and educators aiming to implement effective curriculum reforms in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Big Book media on the reading literacy skills of fourth-grade students at Rade Elementary School. Observations show that most students still read haltingly, less fluently, and get bored quickly during reading lessons. Observations in fourth-grade students at Rade Elementary School indicate that some students still face reading difficulties. Some students read haltingly, skip words, use incorrect intonation, and even do not understand the content of the reading after finishing reading. Differences in ability are also quite striking: some students are already fluent, but many are still in the low category. Low reading motivation is further exacerbated by minimal parental support and a lack of interesting reading materials at home. This condition causes some students to get bored quickly when reading lessons are conducted using conventional methods. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group model, involving 40 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instrument was a reading literacy test that covered aspects of reading comprehension, fluency, and reading accuracy. The results showed a significant increase in reading literacy skills in the experimental group. The average pretest score of 76.50 increased to 82.00 in the posttest. Based on the Wilcoxon test results, the use of Big Book media has proven effective in improving students' reading literacy skills. Therefore, Big Book can be used as an innovative and effective alternative learning medium for implementation in elementary schools.
