Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a health problem that can cause disorders or abnormalities in the feet, namely disorders of the nerves (neuropathy) and blood vessels (PAD). Peripheral arterial disease is a circulation problem where there is a narrowing of the arteries which results in reduced blood flow to the legs. Severe PAD is a major factor in lower extremity amputation, especially in patients with DM, then PAD in patients with DM can be seen with ischemic or gangrene injuries. Patients with DM have decreased blood circulation, especially in the lower extremities due to changes in the function of the endothelial layer due to a long hyperglycemic status. The change is a decrease in nitric oxide (NO) production. Another problem is the decrease in sensation in the feet because DM patients have a risk for neuropathy. This neuropathy causes DM patients to get injured easily because the area on the feet is not felt when traumatized, making it easier for infection to occur. Preventive action taken from the start is one of the best actions. Preventive measures in DM patients who experience circulation disorders and neuropathic problems can be done in several ways, including using tools and gymnastics. The tool used is Veinoplus arterial or electrical muscle stimulation, then the exercise in question is foot exercise. The working principle of this tool can increase blood circulation in the lower extremities by increasing the production of nitric oxide (NO), NO is an important component in preventing atherosclerosis which is one of the causes of blockage in blood vessels and can lead to injury and amputation. Therefore, improvement of circulation through certain interventions is needed to prevent these complications. Electrical muscle stimulation has been researched and proven to be able to increase circulation and improve sensation in people with DM. Therefore, this activity is expected to be able to contribute in preventing complications that can occur in people with DM. The objectives of this activity include identifying risk factors for circulation disorders and neuropathy in patients with DM, increasing public understanding of complications that can occur in DM patients, increasing the community's ability to prevent complications that can occur. While the output that can be generated from this activity is an increase in the knowledge of DM patients on the prevention of wound complications.

Business development with great potential is very important, especially during the Covid-19 period where many businesses were destroyed but some businesses had the opportunity to be developed. The business development strategy is carried out to deal with the difficulties experienced by partners so that it becomes a solution that can be implemented. Like the results of the cardamom spice plant in Karanglewas. The packaging and management of the product is not optimal, so it still does not provide maximum profit. Through attractive packaging and processing of products into ready-to-sell powder, it is hoped that cardamom will become easier to market and more widely known to the public.

Abstract

Currently there has been an increase in the incidence of NCDs on teenager. One of the efforts to respond to the increasing prevalence of NCDs is to develop and strengthen active early detection activities (screening). Early detection of NCDs is a way to determine the presence of NCD risk factors. Early detection is useful for finding early on the possibility that someone may have NCDs or have risk factors. Screening was conducted on 98 High School students. The screening results showed that 77 students (78.57%) did not exercise regularly, 62 students (63.27%) had the habit of sleeping late, 26 students (26.53%) had overweight, and 18 students (18.73%) had pre-hypertension. These results indicate a risk of NCDs in students. The early known risk factors for NCDs in the prevention and control can be carried out as early as possible. Therefore, screening, or early detection needs to be held in schools in collaboration with local health care facilities.

Abstract

During the rainy season, many areas in Malang are prone to flooding, especially areas near rivers. Samaan Village is part of the Brantas River Basin, which has a source of water flow from Sumber Luh in the Brantas River area. Four neighbourhoods in this kelurahan are located in the river basin. The flood disaster in Malang City at the end of 2021 was the result of flooding that occurred in Batu City. This flood event was the worst after the flood in 2004. The flash flood caused many material losses, one of which damaged the newly built Taman Keceh tourist attraction. The activities offered from this PKM are socialisation, mentoring and training activities related to flood disaster management for communities around the Brantas River. This activity aims to equip the community with understanding and skills in flood disaster management. The implementation of disaster management consists of 3 (three) stages, including pre-disaster, during disaster (emergency response), and post-disaster (rehabilitation and reconstruction). The methods used in this activity included deliberation, brainstorming, and demonstration. In the process, the participants were accompanied by resource persons and the service implementation team as facilitators. During the series of processes, an evaluation was carried out as monitoring and improvement of activities. The results of this activity include (1) increased community awareness in flood disaster management, (2) the availability of Early Warning System (EWS) both traditional and modern simple ones as an effort to mitigate flood disasters, and (3) the formation of cooperation between local communities in flood disaster management (pre, during, and post).

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic was crucial worldwide. Ongoing COVID-19 disease investigation methods were primarily based on molecular and serological detection. These instruments are invasive and necessarily require the use of trained personnel. Non-invasive COVID-19 investi-gation methods could help diagnose and monitor the outbreak. Because the SARS-CoV-2 virus is non-living, it lacks its metabolism. Different infectious diseases can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), resulting in specific VOCs. All of these are metabolic products primarily produced locally in the respiratory system and systemically via blood circulation. We overview the clinical applications in the COVID-19 investigation and summarize the methodological is-sues. Numerous VOCs in the exhaled breath have the prospects to distinguish patients from healthy people and people infected with COVID-19. It is hard to define COVID-19 using VOCs from exhaled breath. Due to a lack of standardization in data collecting and processing proce-dures, their use in clinical practice is hampered. There are insufficient studies and external vali-dation to determine whether exhaled breath analysis adds value to the diagnostic and follow-up processes for COVID-19 infection. In conclusion, the use of VOCs in exhaled breath as a marker for COVID-19 infection has not been validated for clinical use.
