Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) plays an important role in development policy in Indonesia. Through the HDI, related social and economic factors can be identified, apart from its main dimensions of a long and healthy life, level of knowledge, and decent standard of living. In 2024, Indonesia experienced an increase in the Human Development Index (HDI). Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of social and economic factors outside the constituent dimensions of HDI on the increase in HDI and predict its impact in the future. The analysis method uses the ARIMAX model, which allows forecasting by considering exogenous variables that affect the analyzed variables. The results of this study concluded that social and economic factors have a significant influence on human development with the formation of the ARIMAX(3,0,0) model. From the feasibility testing that has been done, the model is considered an appropriate model and can be used for forecasting. After forecasting, the model is able to capture historical patterns well, although there are fluctuating patterns. Forecasting shows a downward trend in 2026 and 2033, which is likely influenced by the pattern of the previous year, 2020. Nonetheless, the model provides a fairly good picture of the long-term trend and can be used to inform strategic policy making.

Abstract

The digital transformation of higher education requires learning models that are capable of enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effect of collaborative digital learning based on the Team-Based Project (TBP) approach implemented through the SPADA Indonesia platform on student learning outcomes, with student engagement acting as a mediating variable. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey design. The respondents consisted of 69 undergraduate management students who participated in a collaborative Innovation Management course jointly conducted by STIE PGRI Dewantara Jombang and the Yadika Institute of Technology and Business Pasuruan. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and path analysis. The results indicate that TBP-based collaborative digital learning has a positive and significant effect on both student engagement and student learning outcomes. Furthermore, student engagement was found to significantly mediate the relationship between collaborative digital learning and learning outcomes. These findings suggest that optimizing SPADA Indonesia through a Team-Based Project approach is effective in improving the quality of learning in higher education.

Abstract

There have been few studies examining the link between open economic and demographic policies and the integration of socio-economic indicators into employment, particularly in developing markets. To address this gap in the literature, this scientific paper investigates the relationship between foreign investment capital and population growth on labor force participation, considering the mediating roles of minimum wages, economic growth, and human development. The study focuses on the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) as a representation of a new economic growth center in Indonesia. Time-series secondary data from official government sources covering the period 2011–2024 were calculated using moderated regression analysis (MRA). The empirical results reveal that foreign investment capital has a significant negative effect on minimum wages, while population growth significantly and positively influences regional economic growth. Statistically, foreign investment capital significantly reduces human development. Moreover, foreign investment capital, when moderated by minimum wages and regional economic growth, as well as population growth moderated by human development, exerts a significant positive impact on labor force participation. These findings suggest that additional macroeconomic components beyond the current model warrant the attention of policymakers and further research.

Abstract

Poverty is a development issue closely related to the quality of human resources, particularly education. This study aims to analyze the effect of male Expected Years of Schooling (AHLS) on the number of poor people in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary time series data for the period 2014-2024 sourced from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The population and sample of this study are all national data on male AHLS and the number of poor people during the observation period. The analytical method used is simple linear regression with data transformed into natural logarithms and processed using SPSS software, preceded by a classical assumption test. The results show that AHLS has a negative and significant effect on the number of poor people with a regression coefficient of -2.063 and a significance level of 0.006. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.546 indicates that 54.6 percent of the variation in the number of poor people can be explained by male AHLS. This finding suggests that increasing male education plays a significant role in poverty alleviation efforts through improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of technology downstream governance in e-commerce for empowering traditional culinary MSMEs in Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research involved 156 traditional culinary MSMEs distributed across 8 sub-districts as the population, with 30 MSMEs as representative samples. Data collection was conducted through structured surveys, in-depth interviews, and direct observations of three stakeholder categories: MSME actors, supporting institutions, and technology developers. The results show that 70% of MSMEs use WhatsApp Business as their primary platform with a satisfaction level of 4.2/5. E-commerce implementation in three pilot MSMEs resulted in significant improvements: market reach increased by 700%, monthly turnover rose by 35%, and customer numbers grew by 40% within 6 months. The main challenges identified include limited technical skills (priority index 1), digital payment systems (priority 2), and technology investment capital (priority 3). The research developed an integrated governance framework with five pillars: digital infrastructure, human capital development, financial ecosystem, technology integration, and governance monitoring. The developed model proved effective in enhancing the competitiveness of traditional culinary MSMEs and can be replicated in other regions with similar characteristics. The study contributes to the understanding of technology governance in MSME digitalization and provides practical recommendations for sustainable digital transformation in the traditional culinary sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of green technology adoption on business performance through product innovation in batik micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Lumajang Regency. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire survey of 50 batik MSMEs selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). that green technology adoption positively affects business performance and product innovation. Product innovation also positively influences business performance and partially mediates the relationship. These findings show that environmentally friendly technology improves operational efficiency and stimulates value-added product innovation. The novelty lies in examining product innovation as a mediating variable in batik MSMEs located in a non-industrial-center area. The originality is reflected in integrating green technology, product innovation, and business performance into a single mediation model using PLS-SEM. This study concludes that green technology adoption, supported by product innovation, significantly enhances batik MSMEs’ business performance.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of the work environment and individual ability on employee performance among sewing line employees at PT Karya Mekar Dewatamali. The study employed an explanatory quantitative approach using a Likert-scale questionnaire survey administered to 66 employees. The work environment was measured through work atmosphere, physical facilities, subordinate–supervisor relations, and coworker relations (LK1–LK8). Individual ability was assessed through knowledge, training, experience, skills, and work capability (KI1–KI8). Employee performance was measured through quantity, quality, timeliness, attendance, and teamwork (KK1–KK10). The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, with model adequacy evaluated through classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. The findings show that the work environment is the most dominant factor and, together with individual ability, contributes positively to employee performance. The model explains a substantial proportion of the variance in performance (Adjusted R² = 0.702). These findings underscore the importance of workplace support and competency enhancement in repetitive and precision-based sewing tasks.
