Abstract

This research is motivated by the desire to analyze three main focuses, namely: (1) analyzing the combined influence of learning environment and reading motivation on reading interest, (2) analyzing the influence of each learning environment separately on reading interest, and (3) the influence of reading motivation on reading interest individually. This research was conducted at the Community Reading Park (TBM) Ruang Baca Rimba Bulan located in Padang Panjang City in the 2024/2025 academic year using an explanatory quantitative approach. The population in this study involved all TBM visitors, totaling 57 people. Through the use of the Slovin formula, a sample of 36 respondents was determined, taken randomly using the simple random sampling technique. The type of data used in this study is primary data, while data analysis was carried out using the multiple linear regression method using SPSS software version 25.0. This analysis includes classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing through F tests, t tests, and coefficient of determination tests. The regression equation obtained in this study is Y = 28.952 + 0.015X1 – 0.457X2 + e. The results of the F test produced a calculated F value of 2.052 with a significance level of 0.145 which is above the threshold of 0.05. This means that simultaneously, the variables of the learning environment and reading motivation do not have a significant effect on reading interest. Although theoretically both have a close influence on reading interest, statistical results show that the influence of both together is not strong enough to increase reading interest. Therefore, it is recommended that TBM visitors be more active in creating a learning environment that supports and strengthens internal reading motivation, in order to create a more optimal increase in reading interest.

Abstract

This paper presents the outcomes of a community service initiative designed to strengthen the digital competence of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers through the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR). Conducted in Sawahlunto City with 15 participating teachers, the program employed a participatory training model consisting of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. Teachers were introduced to AR concepts, development tools, and strategies for integrating AR into learning activities in accordance with Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP). Quantitative results revealed a 40.3% improvement in teachers’ pretest and posttest scores, indicating enhanced conceptual understanding and technical proficiency. Qualitative observations further showed increased motivation, creativity, and readiness to adopt AR-based media in teaching. The successful development of AR learning products by participants confirms the effectiveness of AR training in advancing technopedagogical competence. These findings underscore the potential of AR as an innovative tool for promoting digital literacy and transforming early childhood learning environments. Keywords: Augmented Reality, ECE teacher competence, digital transformation, digital literacy, learning media.

Abstract

English has emerged as a global language, necessitating its mastery among students, particularly given the abundance of learning resources and information accessible online. As a result, digital literacy, defined as the ability to search for and utilize digital information effectively, has become an essential competency. This study aims to examine the digital literacy skills of university students in the context of learning English for specific purposes, namely biology. The investigation focuses on four dimensions of digital literacy: operational skills in using technological devices, critical thinking in digital contexts, digital collaboration abilities, and awareness regarding the appropriate use of digital technologies. Employing a quantitative research design, data were gathered through an online survey distributed to 134 biology students from four universities in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings revealed that the students’ average digital literacy score was 85.24, which falls within the “outstanding” category. These results highlight the pivotal role of digital literacy in enabling students to access information more effectively and enhance both their disciplinary knowledge and English language proficiency.

The findings of the research indicate that (1) children can cultivate independence early in life, depending on their age and development objectives, like eating by themselves and puutting on their own footwear (2) parents have a role and duty in guiding the development of independence in children from an early age. So, through parental guidance, children can become independent, responsible for what they have and become confident in carrying out activities without help from others. It is hoped that parents can provide time to provide stimulation to children from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Botvin’s Life Skills Training (LST) Model in reducing juvenile delinquency influenced by environmental factors among students at UPT SMPN X Gresik. The main problems identified include smoking, skipping classes, fighting, and violating school rules—behaviors largely shaped by peer pressure and lack of parental supervision. The intervention involved three sessions of Life Skills Training focusing on personal self-management, social skills, and refusal skills. This research used a pre-test and post-test design with the Juvenile Delinquency Scale adapted from Trie Utami Lestari (2022). Data were analyzed descriptively using percentage scores. The results revealed a substantial decrease in delinquent behavior, with scores declining from 942 (80%, high category) to 226 (19%, low category). These findings indicate that the Botvin Life Skills Training Model effectively reduces juvenile delinquency driven by environmental factors by enhancing students’ self-control, decision-making, and social competence. The study provides practical implications for schools to integrate life skills programs as preventive and developmental approaches in character education.
