Abstract

The toddler years are the most important period, where children need adequate nutrition to support their physical growth. This study aims to determine the description of parenting patterns, mothers’ knowledge level, and parents' economic status for toddlers with problem nutritional status in the city center and outskirts of the city in the work area of the Gambok Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2022. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study was toddlers with problematic nutritional status (undernutrition and overnutrition) totaling 60 people. Collecting data using a questionnaire and direct measurement of the height and weight of children under five. The research results were analyzed univariately and displayed in the form of a frequency distribution table. The results of this study indicate that more than half of the bad parenting patterns (75%) in toddlers are found in the outskirts of the city, while in the city center, the parenting patterns are good (100%). More than half of the mothers (82.5%) have a good level of knowledge living in the city center, while more than half of the mothers (60%) have a low level of knowledge living in the Outskirts of the City. The economic status of parents in the City Center (95%) and Outskirts of the City (50%) already have sufficient economic status. Based on this, it can be concluded that parenting patterns, mothers’ level of knowledge, and parents' economic status are some of the factors that cause toddlers to have problematic nutritional status. This research can be developed by adding other factors that can affect the nutritional status of toddlers.

The method used was a qualitative method, by analyzing 9 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria from 182 literature studies found in PubMed and Scopus. The results of the analysis showed factors, barriers, and accessibility that influence health seeking behavior in HIV patients. These factors included economic factors, education, perceptions of HIV, medical pluralism, partner concerns, family support, community stigma, asymptomatic HIV status, travel distance, transportation costs, breach of confidentiality, mistreatment from health services, and lack of information regarding HIV health services. It is hoped that future research can continue research related to health seeking behavior factors, as well as develop strategies to overcome barriers and improve accessibility of health services for HIV patients.

Abstract

Diarrhea in East Mempawah has increased in the last four years. Data from 2017 to 2021 shows an increase of 76% in diarrhea cases. This study aims to determine the relationship between using clean water, healthy latrines, washing hands, and knowledge on preventing diarrhea in six villages and two sub-districts in East Mempawah. This study was a case-control study that observed 43 cases and 43 controls aged 1-4 years old children with research instruments in the form of questionnaires. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results showed that clean water sources were not related to the incidence of diarrhea with a p-value = 0.065, OR = 2.376 (95% CI=0.9361-6.0309). Defecation behavior was not related to the incidence of diarrhea with p-value=0.88, OR=1.222 (95% CI=0.459-3.255). The habit of handwashing was the incidence of diarrhea with a p-value = 0.023, OR = 5.161 (95% CI=1.339-19.895). Knowledge was related to the incidence of diarrhea with p-value = 0.003, OR=2.877 (95% CI=1.194-6.934).This study concludes that there is a relationship between handwashing and knowledge of the incidence of diarrhea. The handwashing habit is related to the incidence of diarrhea due to low awareness and willingness to do it. The Health Service needs to hold joint cross-sector and cross-program socialization activities about the importance of handwashing,as well as provide handwashing facilities in public places so that people can easily access them.

Abstract

has a major impact on a person's quality of life. Patients with multimorbidity have the potential to prescribe polypharmacy. This study aims to determine the level of patient adherence and the relationship between polypharmacy and adherence of multimorbid patients at the Internal Medicine Clinic RSUD dr R Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga. A cross-sectional study using the convenience sampling method was conducted on 342 multimorbid patients receiving polypharmacy prescriptions. Data were collected using demographic questionnaires and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire. The average age of the respondents in this study was 57.81 ± 10.596, with an average patient taking 9.8 ± 3.2 drugs per day and having an average diagnosis / number of diseases suffered 3.56 ± 1.06 diagnoses. Patients with low adherence category were 106 people (31%), medium were 125 people (36.5%) and high were 111 people (32.5). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between polypharmacy (p<0.05) and adherence to taking medication in multimorbid patients (p=0.000), where the more medication the patient gets (polypharmacy), the lower the patient's compliance in taking medication. It is recommended that the hospital carry out evaluations and interventions to improve treatment compliance.
