Abstract

The social and religious development in early childhood is influenced by interactions with the environment and the role of education. Young children experience an increase in social skills and develop an understanding of religion influenced by fantasy and emotions. Religious education strengthens their faith foundation, shapes good character, and teaches values aligned with their religious beliefs. Factors such as family, educational environment, gender roles, peer influence, and religion impact the social and religious development of children. Parents and teachers play a crucial role in supporting this development through gradual learning strategies and integrated programs. Formal and non-formal education are instrumental in shaping children's mindset and behavior, while the environment helps filter positive influences. In conclusion, formal and non-formal education, parents, and teachers are essential in supporting the social and religious development of young children. This article employs a literature review methodology with secondary data collection and critical analysis of relevant sources such as books and journals. The descriptive presentation of the analysis provides an overview of the social and religious development in early childhood and its implications in education.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine if children aged 5-6 at Setyara Wardani Kindergarten in the Jatiasih District of Bekasi City, West Java, improved their gross motor skills after participating in rough movement games while outside in the sun. This study takes a quantitative approach, adopting an experimental methodology and employing a one-group pre- and post-test design for its experimentation. Twenty-eight children from TK Setyara Wardani's group B4 served as participants. This investigation employed a Likert-scale rubric for data gathering using tests and observation sheets. Descriptive statistics and the paired-samples t-test are employed to evaluate hypotheses and draw conclusions from the data. The above table from the Paired Samples Test shows that when the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 0.05, H0 is rejected, whereas H1 is accepted. As a result, we can infer that children's gross motor abilities generally improve during the pre- and post-test periods, suggesting that they gain strength and coordination while engaging in roughhousing in the open air.

Abstract

Religious values are several social systems that regulate beliefs, behavior, social rules in carrying out the lives of fellow human beings, as well as ways of worshiping Allah SWT, this is also an effort in developing group and individual knowledge about the teachings that Allah has set in the Qur'an. 'an, and also all forms of provisions of life as well as regulations that must be accepted by humans as prohibitions, and orders, so that if these orders are violated then they will receive the punishment given by Allah in the hereafter. Character formation is basically a view of the relationship that every human being has, namely the relationship to oneself, to the environment, and to the creator, this becomes a value and belief in the growth of a child's attitude. Character building aims to instill certain attitudes in children so that they educate positive behaviors such as forming a sense of caring, responsibility, having a sense of justice, being persistent, diligent and having a sense of respect for others. The development of the child's character must start from learning his manners, morals, and religion. The lack of alertness from the role of parents creates a moral crisis that has negative consequences in society, for example, against children against their parents, promiscuity, theft, drug abuse and violence against people of their age or below.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) is crucial for a child’s school readiness, development, welfare, and future academic achievement. However, Indonesia is currently facing low participation of ECE students. This study discusses the parents’ education, household characteristics, child development, infrastructure, and environmental characteristics associated with parents’ decisions on ECE enrolment. This study uses a quantitative approach with probit regression. The data used for this research were from the 2020 Indonesia’s National Socio-Economic Survey and Village Potential Survey. The results of this study indicated that parents’ education had a positive and significant correlation with the parent’s decision to send their children to ECE. The income per capita, the mother's job status, the father's job status, access to food for the household, and the number of household members, which are household characteristics, determine ECE enrolment decisions. Children's growth and development, the infrastructure of the ECE within the district/city, and the environmental characteristics such as residential classification and the regional area of residence are proven to be associated with ECE enrolment.
