Abstract

The main problem in the learning process of basic programming in the classroom is the lack of available time allocation, considering that basic programming material is very complex and there are also practicum activities and program demos. So, with the existing allocation, it is not optimal if it is used for learning activities in basic programming subjects. This can be seen in the average student learning outcomes which are always low. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based blended learning (PB2L) model on basic programming learning outcomes in terms of students' computational thinking skills. This research was conducted through a literature review and relevant research results and continued through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). From the research, it was found that there was a significant positive effect between the variables of the problem based blended learning (PB2L) model, student learning outcomes and computational thinking skills, which means that student learning outcomes can be improved through the application of problem based blended learning (PB2L) models and students' computational thinking skills.

Abstract

Digital advertisement with various visualization techniques affects human daily-life and lifestyle. Movement Concept in advertising is in line with kinetic on digitizing era. It visualized through videography. The lack of research that has been done regarding the characteristics of camera movement as visual stimuli exposure in advertisements has led to further research on consumer perceptions. The case study is Adidas Originals Nite Jogger version DAY&NIGHT GISEOK CHO that has been released on YouTube, April 2019. Using Documentation Analysis with Computer Web-Based Q's for collecting data, this mixed-method research using one-shot case study, aimed to identify Camera Movement Concept which applied into digitizing process. Several logical explanations of the audience's perceptions constructed by visual stimuli of Camera Movement Concept on social media in Digitizing era have been resulted; it relates to audience cognition and affection. The research concluded fast motion that is constructed through distortion as one of Camera Movement Concept to gain audience attraction; and if it applied with Camera 360° could have more possibilities to construct exaggerated visual stimuli exposure in advertising.

The research use 50 samples for the fifth grade elementary school pupils in two State Elementary Schools with the accredated status of A in Tangerang District. It is the quantitative resech with the quasi experiment research design. The data test uses the prerequsite test, i.e. homogeneity test and normality test. Mofeover, the hypothesis test uses the t-test and the one-way Anova. The results of the data test that use the t-test and one-way Anova show that the two model are able to increase the reading comprehension ability overall. The results of the one-way Anova test show that the results of comparing the two learning models that have the higher influence is the contextual model. The SAVI reading model has an influence to the reading comprehension ability. that the contextual learning model has an influence to the reading comprehension ability. the contextual learning model has a higher influence than the SAVI learning model.

Abstract

Environmental learning at the school and university levels, often still uses conventional learning. This is a problem, considering the ability of students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is very necessary for the 21st century. The purpose of this study is to do need assessment on learning media, teaching materials, learning materials, worksheets, and learning evaluations used in the learning environment in schools and universities. The study was conducted from November 2017 - January 2019 at several schools in Bekasi and one university in Jakarta. The research method used is descriptive method with data collection techniques using observation and interviews. The results showed that media learning, teaching materials, learning materials, students worksheets, and learning evaluations at various levels were not all based on HOTS. HOTS-based learning has been applied at the university level and senior high school but is still rarely used. This is due to the lack of development in environmental learning. The conclusion of this study is that environmental learning is not all HOTS-based.

Abstract

Environmental learning in schools should be based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and based on environmental problems, one of which is Green Consumerism (GC). The problem is the absence of student HOTS profiles based on GC. The purpose of this study was to measure students HOTS based on GC concepts and present them descriptively in the form of profiles. The study was conducted in November-December 2018 at State Junior High School 1 in South Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive research. The sample used was 128 students in grade 8th, consisting of 42 male students and 86 female students. The results showed that GC-based HOTS scores were still relatively low. Students overall got an average score of 31.55. The aspect with the highest score was obtained in the analyze (C4) aspect with a score of 3.81, while the aspect with the lowest score was on the create aspect (C6) with a score of 2.57. This is because the information about GC is still not obtained by many students. The conclusion is that students' HOTS scores are low and need to be improved.

Abstract

Technology integration in mathematics instruction is demanded throughout the educational system as it offers to support students achievement, teachers productivity, and effectiveness in classroom management. However, its implementation has presented some complex problems including lack of specific knowledge and skills of technological tools, diversity of points of view and beliefs, and the factor of time. This indicates that integrating technology to improve mathematics education is a challenging task. To ensure technology is used effectively to enhance students learning and teachers practice of mathematics, many facets need to be considered. Australian curriculum clearly mandated educational stakeholders to use technology to support daily mathematics instruction, but a direction of how to apply it in the classroom still unclear. It is suggested that more emphasis on rich mathematical tasks, productive pedagogies and developing teacher professional development that fosters both technological competence and pedagogy flexibility as proposed by many educational researchers is needed.
