Abstract

The research was driven the lack of student engagement in Natural and Social Sciences subjects, particularly in the areas of communication and clasification, both of which are key components of basic science process skills. This research aims to see the improvement of basic science process skills by applying the POGIL learning model in the subjects of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences in each cycle. Conducted through Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and Taggart model (planning, acting, observing, and reflecting), the study involved 33 fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Bandung City. Data were collected through observations, performance tests, and descriptive tests. Initial findings showed that students’ basic science process skills were at a "Low" level, with an average score of 60.15 and a classical completeness rate of 30.33% ("Very Poor" category). The POGIL model used in Natural and Social Sciences subjects for the students from the fifth grade was revealed to be effectively implemented over three cycles, as reflected in increasing teacher activity scores (from the pre-cycle 66.67%, cycle I 82.36%, cycle II 94.11%, and cycle III 100%). Meanwhile, the cumulative average of student activity scores also increased (from the pre-cycle 60.10%, cycle 1 66.91%,cycle II 94.11%, and cycle III 88.38%). Additionally, students’ science process skills improved across cycles: 62.72 ("Low") in Cycle I, 70.15 ("Medium") in Cycle II, and 76.96 ("Medium") in Cycle III. These results shows that POGIL model can effectively enhance students’ basic science process skills in Natural and Social Sciences at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level.

Abstract

The problem in research was about the mastery of English vocabulary among students. Students had difficulties in writing words, understanding their meanings, and constructing correct sentences. Based on interview results, students often did not understand the material presented due to the use of ineffective teaching strategies and media. This condition led to unsatisfactory learning outcomes, as shown by the summative assessment 56% (18 out of 32 students) did not reach the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKTP) of 75. The purpose of this study was to examine students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the implementation of the strategy, as well as to observe the process in each cycle. This research was conducted using Classroom Action Research two cycles. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed significant improvement. The average student score increased from 58 in the pre-cycle to 75 in the first cycle, and 87 in the second cycle. The percentage of students achieving classical learning mastery also improved from 47% (15 students) in the pre-cycle, to 66% (21 students) in the first cycle, and 88% (28 students) in the second cycle. These results indicate that the applied strategy was effective in improving students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

In the 21st century, the existence of independent learning is very relevant to students' needs. It is hoped that the presence of an independent curriculum can improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia made the Pancasila Student Profile the vision and mission of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia as stated in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 22 of 2020. The values of the Pancasila student profile are: faith, devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning and creativity. This research aims to find out the role of class teachers in forming the character profile of Pancasila students at Al-Azhar 15 Pamulang Islamic Elementary School. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. data collection techniques in observational research, interviews and documentation. The technical analysis used is triangulation. The results of this research suggest that the role of class teachers in forming the character profile of Pancasila students has gone well, because the school culture is in accordance with the values of the Pancasila student profile. There are 5 roles of class teachers in forming the profile of Pancasila students, namely: 1). The teacher provides understanding. 2) the teacher carries out habituation. 3). The teacher provides an example. 4) the teacher gives punishment. 5). The teacher reflects. The supporting factor for the role of class teachers in forming the character profile of Pancasila students is that there is good cooperation between local residents and parents. And the inhibiting factor in the role of class teachers in forming the character profile of Pancasila students is the limited supervision time at school and teachers must be consistent in reminding students.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has an impact on the field of education. The use of technology in the field of education, one of which is an effort to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process. Elementary school teachers' understanding of technology is integrated with TPACK capabilities. TPACK skills are important for an elementary school teacher to have in the process of delivering learning. In conveying learning, media is needed, in this case the media used is technology-based learning media, namely augmented reality. This research aims to analyze the TPACK abilities of elementary school teachers in using technology-based learning media, namely augmented reality, as well as as a reference for carrying out further research related to developing augmented reality as a learning medium. The research was conducted qualitatively by involving ten elementary school teachers. Next, the ten teachers were used as research subjects who in this study are called participants. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to ten participants using Google Form and then analyzed using coding. The results of the research show that the TPACK abilities of ten artists have reached their maximum but their use in augmented reality is still very minimal. Thus, it can be concluded that TPACK's ability to use augmented reality as a learning medium for the ten participants is still very minimal and the next step is to develop augmented reality as a learning medium in elementary schools.
