Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the social media-based jigsaw learning model in improving the communication skills of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) Universitas PGRI Semarang. The method used is an experiment with the design of prates and posts. The experimental group received learning using a jigsaw model integrated with social media, while the control group was taught conventionally. Data were obtained through tests of communication skills, observations, and interviews, which were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' communication skills. The average score increased from 65 on prates to 86 on posts. The distribution of scores also shifted drastically, from the majority in the low category (60–65) to dominant in the high category (80–90). This increase is associated with the active role of students in group discussions as well as increased comfort and access to information through social media. The jigsaw model facilitates meaningful collaborative interactions, while social media flexibly expands the discussion space. This technology-based learning has proven to be effective in building essential communication skills for aspiring educators. However, the implementation of this model still requires strict supervision so that the use of social media remains focused on academic goals. This research contributes to the development of innovative learning strategies in the digital age, and opens up opportunities for further exploration in other educational contexts.

Abstract

Globalization, socio-cultural shifts, environmental changes, and work demands are key factors in instilling the Pancasila student profile in students, one of which is through learning literary works such as novels. This study aims to describe the Pancasila student profile values found in the novel Si Anak Pelangi and their relevance to Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data in the form of words, dialogues, quotes, and events in the novel that reflect the Pancasila student profile values. Data sources include the novel Si Anak Pelangi and teaching materials documents. Data were collected through reading, listening, note-taking, and document analysis. Data analysis used a sociology of literature approach with dialectical techniques and interactive analysis in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the values of the Pancasila student profile—faith, devotion to God, noble character, global diversity, independence, mutual cooperation, creativity, and critical thinking—are found in the novel Si Anak Pelangi by Tere Liye. Its relevance to Indonesian language learning in elementary schools is reflected in learning outcomes, teaching materials, and learning objectives.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of social concern and how it reinforces the Pancasila Student Profile through the literary narrative of the novel Orang Miskin Dilarang Sekolah by Wiwid Prasetyo. This qualitative research employs a descriptive content analysis method with a literary sociology approach. Data were collected using listening, reading, and note-taking techniques on textual elements—words, phrases, sentences, and quotations—that contain elements of social concern. Data were obtained from the primary source (the novel) and supported by secondary textual references. Sampling was conducted purposively, and data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and theories, as well as peer review and observer persistence. The data were analyzed through content analysis followed by dialectical techniques to identify interactions between social values and character formation. The findings reveal four main representations of social concern: (1) inequality in access to education, (2) societal indifference toward the poor, (3) individual resistance to social injustice, and (4) family empathy towards children's educational aspirations. These elements significantly contribute to the internalization of Pancasila Student Profile values, including mutual cooperation, independence, social justice, and empathy. The novel thus functions not only as a reflection of social reality but also as a medium to strengthen the values of character education aligned with national ideology.

Abstract

Independence is a crucial character trait that needs to be developed in educational settings. This study aims to analyze the representation of independence in Andrea Hirata's novel Guru Aini and examine its practical implications for literacy practices in schools, specifically focusing on students' behavioral and psychological conditions regarding literacy habits. This qualitative descriptive study employed a case study approach based on literary psychology perspective. Data consisted of words, statements, quotations, and sentences containing independence meanings from the 200-page novel Guru Aini published by Pustaka Belitung. Data collection utilized analytical reading and note-taking techniques. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. Content analysis with literary psychology approach was employed, followed by interactive data analysis including data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study identified three forms of independence representation: (1) Emotional independence - characters' ability to manage feelings without external support; (2) Social independence - adaptation and interaction capabilities in diverse environments; (3) Professional independence - autonomous decision-making in academic and career pursuits. The analysis revealed that literacy habits focusing on independence support students' development of critical thinking, autonomous learning, and responsibility. Literary works can serve as effective media for instilling independence values in students. The implications suggest that incorporating independence-themed literature in school literacy programs can enhance students' character development and learning autonomy.

Abstract

Penelitian mempunyai latar belakang dari kuatnya sistem patriarki dalam masyarakat Korea Selatan yang berdampak pada ketidaksetaraan gender yang tergambar dalam novel 나의 미친 페미니스트 여자친구 (My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend) karya Min Ji-Hyoung. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengungkap simbol-simbol ketidaksetaraan gender dan bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan yang dialami oleh tokoh perempuan dalam novel. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes, mencakup analisis denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos, serta didukung oleh teori feminisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 13 simbol yang mewakili ketidaksetaraan gender meliputi simbol kecantikan dan feminin, kekerasan seksual, dan moralitas ganda. Simbol-simbol tersebut membentuk mitos budaya yang memperkuat ideologi patriarki. Selain itu, ditemukan lima bentuk ketidaksetaraan gender yaitu marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotip, beban kerja ganda, dan kekerasan, dengan total 28 data yang dianalisis. Penelitian ini memberikan refleksi terhadap realita dalam budaya patriarkal. Penelitian ini diharapkan membuka ruang diskusi mengenai pentingnya keberpihakan terhadap perempuan dan mendukung perjuangan kesetaraan melalui kajian sastra.

Abstract

This research aims to explore Generation Z students’ perceptions of using the Ome TV application as a digital platform to improve their English-speaking skills. In the era of technological advancement, Ome TV offers real-time video interactions that provide authentic language practice opportunities with native speakers and global users. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with selected Gen Z participants aged 18–24 who have actively used Ome TV. The findings show that Ome TV offers several advantages, including increased speaking confidence, enhanced vocabulary, improved fluency, and flexibility in time and location, which aligns with the independent and digital-based learning preferences of Generation Z. In addition, the spontaneous nature of conversations encourages learners to apply vocabulary in contextual situations. However, several challenges were also identified, such as unstable internet connections, exposure to inappropriate content, and difficulty understanding different accents. Despite these challenges, most participants viewed the experience positively and considered it a valuable supplement to traditional language learning methods. This study concludes that Ome TV can serve as an effective alternative media to support speaking practice, especially for tech-savvy learners. The results are expected to contribute to the development of more interactive and safe technology-based language learning strategies that meet the expectations of today’s digital generation.

Abstract

Pengembangan bahan ajar bertujuan memajukan kecakapan menulis cerita pendek di kelas XI. Bahan ajar dikembangkan menggunakan muatan budaya Madura serta penilaian yang berbentuk assessment as learning. Metode penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE. Uji coba dilakukan di kelas XI dengan jumlah 36 peserta didik. Bahan ajar telah dilakukan uji validasi dengan melibatkan dosen ahli pembelajaran dan praktisi. Hasil validasi oleh ahli pembelajaran memperoleh skor rata-rata 82,86% pada kelayakan isi, 72% kelayakan komponen kebahasaan, 73,33% kelayakan materi, dan 80% pada kelayakan tampilan bahan ajar. Sedangkan dari praktisi pada kelayakan isi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 97%, kelayakan kebahasaan 96%, kelayakan materi 83%, dan kelayakan tampilan 84%. Berdasarkan hasil validasi tersebut maka bahan ajar layak untuk diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Pada hasil uji coba bab I nilai rata-rata pretest 52,75% sedangkan posttest memperoleh skor rata-rata 90,67%. Selanjutnya hasil bab II pada pretest memperoleh rata-rata 60,56% dan posttest memperoleh 87,64%. Terakhir bab III, pada hasil pretest memperoleh skor rata-rata 59,58% dan posttest memperoleh skor rata-rata 85,42%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, terindikasi pengaruh penggunaan bahan ajar terhadap pengembangan menulis cerpen pelajar kelas XI.

Abstract

This study aims to identify phonemes’ changing in NF rap song, in terms of the types of phonological rules in vowels and consonants; assimilation, dissimilation, and deletion. Furthermore, this study figures out how these phonological rules are formed. The rap song Story NF is chosen as the object study in terms of research on phoneme analysis in rap song is still limited. This research applied a qualitative approach. This research employs Lass' (1984) theory as the main theory to analyze data. The data found fifty cases which consist of six regressive assimilation, nine progressive assimilation, four fusional assimilation, two dissimilation, and thirty-three deletion processes. They consist of twenty-two aphaeresis, four syncope, and seven apocope. The findings show that progressive assimilation is the most frequently applied process from the assimilation aspect. At the same time, aphaeresis is the most commonly used process in the deletion aspect, highlighting how connected speech is naturally formed to adapt to the rhythm-driven nature of rap music. All of this connected speech occurs because of rapid speech.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SD Negeri 130/VI Sungai Manau III. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menemukan ide pokok, menjawab pertanyaan berdasarkan teks, serta kurang aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil keterampilan membaca pemahaman melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas dua pertemuan dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 26 siswa kelas V pada Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan. Skor observasi pendidik meningkat dari 68,75% (siklus I pertemuan 1) menjadi 93,75% (siklus II pertemuan 2). Pada aspek peserta didik, kategori “sangat baik” meningkat dari 38,46% menjadi 50%, sementara kategori “kurang” menurun dari 19,23% menjadi 0%. Hasil belajar siswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan, yaitu dari 65,4% siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I menjadi 84,6% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, penerapan model CIRC terbukti dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis teks deskripsi dengan tema kearifan lokal Madura. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dengan data berupa hasil tulisan peserta didik tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data difokuskan pada beberapa indikator penilaian teks deskripsi, yaitu aspek kebahasaan berupa judul dan isi teks, aspek isi berupa identifikasi, deskripsi, dan penutup, serta aspek kearifan lokal Madura berupa penggunaan bahasa dan budaya Madura. Hasil penelitian terhadap 15 peserta didik menunjukkan beragam kategori kemampuan, mulai dari sangat baik, baik, cukup, hingga kurang. Secara umum, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis teks deskripsi bertema kearifan lokal Madura tergolong baik berdasarkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh.
