Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the efforts of the Islamic Library and Information Science Program (Prodi IPII) at IAIN Curup in creating professional and competitive librarians for the era of 5.0. This research is descriptive and qualitative. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Prodi IPII has several strengths, such as an adaptive curriculum in line with current advancements, competent and dedicated lecturers, and various student competence development programs. However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as integrating Islamic values into the curriculum and ensuring all lecturers are proficient in information technology. Opportunities for the program include the need for librarians in Rejang Lebong Regency and support from national standards for school/madrasah libraries. The main challenges are adapting to technological developments and meeting the public's information needs in the digital era. To achieve professional and competitive librarians in the era of 5.0, the Islamic Library and Information Science Program at IAIN Curup implements several strategies: 1) Curriculum Development, 2) Improving Competence of Lecturers and Students, 3) Instilling Character Values, 4) Enhancing the Quality of Learning, 5) Developing Cooperation Networks, 6) Increasing Scientific Publications, and 7) Improving Facilities and Infrastructure

Abstract

Library is one of the important elements in higher education institutions. The Postgraduate Library of UIN Imam Bonjol is an integral part of the higher education system that aims to support research and development of knowledge. This library needs an effective promotional strategy to increase the use and utilization of collections and services available. This study aims to analyze the promotional strategies that have been implemented by the Postgraduate Library of UIN Imam Bonjol in an effort to develop and increase the use of its services. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Postgraduate Library of UIN Imam Bonjol has implemented various promotional strategies, including book fairs, workshops, social media, and collaboration with study programs and other institutions on campus. These strategies aim to increase user awareness about the collections available, the services provided, and the importance of the library in supporting academic and research activities. There are still some challenges such as budget and human resource limitations that affect the effectiveness of the implementation of these promotional strategies. This research contributes to the importance of promotional strategies in the development of UIN IB postgraduate library.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the spatial planning of libraries in increasing students' interest in reading as well as the spatial planning strategies used to attract students' interest in reading. The method used is a qualitative method, by obtaining data and then analyzing it using descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Interviews were conducted with 4 informants. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Data validity techniques use four techniques: credibility, transferability, dependability, confirmability. The results of the research show that the spatial planning of the Ibnu Sina library at SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak as a whole has been running but has not yet reached the ideal standard based on the 2015 school library spatial planning guidelines. Indicators that are still lacking are the aspects of airing, instructions or signs. Meanwhile, the indicators for coloring, security, safety and accessibility have been met. The strategy used to increase interest in reading in the library is through physical and non-physical arrangements in the form of library facilities in the form of collection development, literacy activities and promotions which are considered to have been implemented although not yet optimal and still need to be improved.

Abstract

This research discusses the activities of tadarus (recitation) and tadabbur (reflection) of the Qur'an carried out by the employees of the Library of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, which have been conducted for one year to fulfill the employees' knowledge and understanding in the field of religion. The purpose of this research is to review how these tadarus and tadabbur activities impact the performance of the employees. The method used is qualitative research (field qualitative research) that aims to describe the implementation of tadarus and tadabbur of the Qur'an at the Library of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang by examining its impact on employee performance. The research results show that the tradition of tadarus and tadabbur of the Qur'an has a positive impact on the librarians, where the majority of librarians acknowledge that these activities positively affect their work motivation, increase their faith, obedience, and knowledge, enhance inner peace and moral values, foster mutual respect, and improve teamwork. Additionally, the verses reflected upon also provide solutions to their problems, help them avoid stress and work pressure, and assist in overcoming daily challenges and obstacles.

Abstract

ILPN is a local wisdom-based book acquisition program organized by Perpusnas Press Publishers. ILPN aims to encourage, develop and accelerate the ability and success of readers to produce written works. The problem in this research is how readers assess the ILPN activity process during the 2022 period, the materials/workshops provided in the ILPN program, the themes set by the 2022 ILPN program, and the timeline of ILPN activities. The aim of this research is to determine user satisfaction with the ILPN program. The method used to analyze this research data uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population in this research is library users who took part in the ILPN program in 2022. This research used a survey technique with questions on Google form and took 87% of the sample population, namely 131 respondents from 150 populations in 14 ILPN loci in 2022. Data processing techniques using data selection, data percentage, analyzing data using a measurement scale. The research results showed that the overall average score of the elements assessed was 4.42. The conclusion obtained is that library users who took part in ILPN in 2022 stated that they were very good/satisfied with the ILPN program in 2022

Abstract

Paradigma kepustakawanan telah berubah secara dramatis sebagai akibat dari pertumbuhan pesat teknologi informasi. Sekarang, peran pustakawan tidak lagi terbatas pada mengelola koleksi; mereka harus membantu orang menemukan informasi, mengajar orang tentang literasi digital, dan membantu mengubah lingkungan akademik dan sosial. Untuk menangani tantangan ini, artikel ini menunjukkan berbagai kompetensi yang harus dimiliki pustakawan masa kini, dengan penekanan pada kompetensi multidisipliner, seperti teknologi informasi, manajemen data, komunikasi, dan pemahaman sosial-budaya. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana peran dan kemampuan pustakawan harus berubah seiring dengan zaman, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif berbasis kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data primer berupa dokumen, sedangkan data sekunder berupa literature kelabu yang mampu menunjang keberhasilan penelitian ini. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan digunakan, termasuk buku, jurnal akademik, laporan penelitian. Fokus penelitian adalah untuk perubahan paradigma layanan perpustakaan, tuntutan kompetensi multidisipliner, tantangan dan solusi dalam transformasi peran pustakawan. Artikel ini menekankan pentingnya menciptakan kemampuan profesional pustakawan yang fleksibel dan kreatif melalui pendekatan studi literatur dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa pentingya pengembangan kompetensi digital pada pustakawan serta pentingya adaptasi oleh pustakawan terhadap perubahan paradigma yang terjadi. Hal tersebut dilakukan dengan adanya bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk para pustakawan sehingga mampu meningkatkan profesionalisme.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the representation of librarian characters in anime according to Stuart Hall's model of representation. Information utilized within the current study is derived from the article "10 Most Iconic Anime Librarians," published on Gamerant.com, which provides the primary source from which ten of the most iconic librarian characters within anime are established. Utilizing a qualitative method facilitated through content analysis, the current study also employs data triangulation through cross-checking relevant anime episodes as well as scholarly journals. The results indicate that protagonists that depict librarians in anime are now being portrayed as multidimensional characters—knowledge guardians, intellectual freedom advocates, and social change agents. Protagonists such as Iku Kasahara and Hamyuts Meseta have high emotional depth and perform active roles that break the stereotypes for librarians. The depictions contribute to the reconfiguration of librarians' social image, especially among the youth. This research makes a significant contribution to media studies, information literacy, and library science by highlighting the significance of progressive and inclusive images in shaping public perceptions of the librarian profession.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has brought significant changes to library services; however, not all librarians are adequately prepared to face this transformation. A lack of mastery in digital technologies and non-technical skills has become an obstacle to delivering effective services. This study discusses the essential skills that librarians need to possess in the digital era to address these challenges. The aim of this research is to describe the various competencies required for librarians to manage library services effectively and adaptively amid digital transformation. This research is a qualitative library study using a descriptive approach to analyze relevant primary and secondary data. The findings show that librarians are expected to master both technical skills related to information technology (IQ skills) and social-emotional skills (EQ skills), such as communication, adaptability, and quality service. These skills are crucial for enabling librarians to meet the demands of the digital age and to position libraries as relevant and appealing sources of information for the digital generation. Therefore, comprehensive competency development for librarians is a strategic step toward establishing a globally competitive digital library.

Abstract

Penelitian sebelumnya tentang American Corner telah banyak dilakukan terutama dalam hal pemanfaatan koleksi, layanan, persepsi pemustaka terhadap layanan, dan kemampuan literasi mahasiswa serta propaganda dalam penyelenggaraan layanan American Corner. Penelitian yang berkaitan dengan motivasi, kinerja dan peran voluntir atau relawan yang melakukan aktifitas di American Corner masih sangat jarang. Kondisi ini membuat penulis tertarik untuk mengkaji motivasi relawan yang bersedia bertugas dengan sukarela pada layanan American Corner UPT.Perpustakaan Unand. Layanan corner identik dengan perpustakaan khusus. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bagaimana motivasi relawan yang bergabung dalam kegiatan pelayanan di American Corner UPT.Perpustakaan Unand. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif adalah suatu proses penelitian dan pemahaman yang didasarkan pada metode yang menyelidiki suatu fenomena sosial dan masalah manusia. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan 10 orang responden yang ditetapkan sebagai subyek penelitian. Temuan yang diperoleh adalah (1) Motivasi kerja relawan American Corner UPT.Perpustakaan Unand sangat baik (2) Motivasi intrisik relawan dapat diketahui dari rasa ingin tahu dari dalam diri dan minat relawan untuk berkegiatan di American Corner (3) Motivasi ekstrinsik dapat diketahui dari insentif yang diberikan oleh Kedutaan Amerika Serikat dan lingkungan serta budaya kerja yang baik yang dibentuk oleh bimbingan Direktur American Corner dan kerjasama yang baik dengan relawan (4) Pengembangan American Corner memotivasi relawan untuk berkonstribusi lebih banyak dalam kegiatan. Abstral harus ditulis dengan ringkas dan jelas.  Abstrak terdiri dari tujuan penelitian, metodologi penelitian, hasil dan kesimpulan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas penulis pada Jurnal Al-Kuttab UPT Perpustakaan UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidempuan selama periode 2019–2024 dengan menggunakan pendekatan Dalil Lotka. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik straight count , di mana hanya penulis utama yang dihitung. Perhitungan dilakukan menggunakan model regresi logaritmik untuk memperoleh nilai eksponen (n) dan konstanta (C), kemudian dibandingkan antara distribusi empiris dan teoritis. Uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat kesesuaian distribusi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar penulis hanya menulis satu artikel, sedangkan hanya satu penulis yang menulis empat artikel. Nilai n yang diperoleh adalah 1,04779 dan nilai C sebesar 0,49165. Namun, hasil uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov menunjukkan nilai Dmaks sebesar 0,3655 yang lebih besar dari nilai kritis 0,17134, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa distribusi produktivitas penulis tidak sesuai dengan Dalil Lotka. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pola kontribusi penulis pada jurnal ini cenderung tidak merata dan tidak mengikuti distribusi klasik produktivitas ilmiah.
