Abstract

This community service was carried out in one of the wholesale grocery business units, at BUM Desa Remasa Kekait. This community service was held because BUM Desa Remasa Kekait had not implemented inventory management, so that it was difficult to know the amount of merchandise inventory. This community service aims to assist BUM Desa Remasa Kekait in managing inventory in the wholesale grocery business, so that it will be easier to determine the value of merchandise inventory, for the needs of preparing BUM Desa financial reports. In mentoring Activities at BUM Desa Remasa Kekait, the Community Service Team has prepared an inventory flowchart, that can be a Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) for Inventory Assessment, so that the inventory calculation method is easier to do. As a result, through warehouse cards or inventory cards and physical calculations (stock opname) of inventory, it is hoped that inventory assessment can be carried out more practically, and facilitate recording by BUM Desa employees. Community service activities are expected to continue to the next stage.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance human resource quality at SMPN 6 Mataram through the implementation of project-based learning. Project-based learning focuses on engaging students in solving real-world problems, allowing them to develop not only academic skills but also practical experience in project management and teamwork. The program was implemented in several stages: planning, execution, and evaluation, with students actively involved in each phase. The results showed significant improvements in students' project management and teamwork skills. Additionally, the program had a positive impact on students' engagement in learning and opened up better future prospects for them. Overall, project-based learning has proven to be an effective strategy for improving human resource quality in the educational environment, especially at SMPN 6 Mataram.

Abstract

Cashew tree plantations often experience fallow periods, causing the soil layer to be more easily eroded. As a result, the process of decreasing land productivity is happening more quickly. The right action to overcome this problem is to utilize the reciprocal relationship between plants and livestock to form an integrated ecological farming model. The purpose of this activity is to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in managing cashew nut plantations by implementing integrated ecological farming, processing agricultural waste, weeds and other forage for animal feed, and processing manure and livestock waste into organic fertilizer. The approach method used is participatory action in the form of direct training and assistance in the field from May 5, 2024 to November 6, 2024. The results of the activity showed that the implementation of training and mentoring for the application of integrated ecological farming models on cashew nut stands took place in an orderly, safe and smooth manner. The knowledge and skills of members of the Tunas Mekar farmer group, Lendang Mamben hamlet, Anyar Village, Bayan, North Lombok increased, as evidenced by their high participation, enthusiasm and enthusiasm in following the entire series of activities. The cultivation of peanuts and corn crops resulted in higher income and profits for farmers compared to the cultivation of long beans. In addition to being able to provide higher profits, the average BC-ratio for cultivating these two types of crops is also relatively higher compared to cultivating long beans, namely 2.81 for corn and 2.67 for peanuts

Abstract

This Community Service activity was carried out in Labangkara, Sukadana Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, from July to November 2024, in collaboration with the Padi Subur farmer group. Agriculture in this village is dominated by dry land with low productivity and crop diversification. Farmers face challenges in cultivation that is not yet intensive and reliance on chemical inputs such as inorganic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides, which increase production costs and cause environmental pollution, threatening agricultural sustainability. On the other hand, livestock waste (cattle and goats) in this village has not been utilized, causing environmental impacts such as unpleasant odors from ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gases, as well as health risks. The aim of this activity was to provide knowledge and skills to farmer group members on making compost from livestock waste, to support crop diversification and sustainable agriculture. The approach used was the participatory action method, involving the community fully from planning to evaluation. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, seen from their ability to explain the steps of compost making after the training. Participants' enthusiasm and active participation, both in discussions and independent practice, were also very high, indicating their great interest in managing animal waste into useful compost. This success confirms the effectiveness of interactive and practical training methods, as well as demonstrative methods, in increasing knowledge and learning motivation.

Abstract

The urban farming outreach and mentoring program in Senggigi Village aims to empower women, particularly members of the local TP-PKK group, in strengthening household food security by utilizing limited home garden space. The method used involved participatory approaches, including formal and informal socialization, sustainable farming training, and implementation of Integrated Farming Systems such as vertical gardening and catfish cultivation in buckets. The results indicate a 100% increase in partner knowledge on urban farming fundamentals. This activity hopefully will contribute to the productivity of home gardens and increases awareness of the importance of household-based food security.

Abstract

The Upaya Mina Group in Banyuasih, Sumedang, cultivates common carp using a running water pond system but faces challenges due to rising feed costs that are not matched by the selling price of fish. This community service activity aims to provide a solution through the implementation of a polyculture system combining common carp and Nile tilapia to improve feed efficiency. The method used involved educational outreach through demonstrations and pilot trials at the group’s aquaculture site. The trial results showed that the polyculture system produced 810 kg of fish with a feed efficiency of 76%. In comparison, the group’s previous monoculture system yielded only 640 kg with a feed efficiency of 59%, despite using the same amount of feed, which was 1 ton. The implementation of the polyculture system increased production by 170 kg and feed efficiency by 17%. Thus, the polyculture system not only boosts production but also offers a practical solution to the problem of high feed costs.

Abstract

Diphtheria, caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae, is a significant public health threat, particularly in areas with low immunization coverage. Despite national immunization programs, sporadic outbreaks continue to occur, especially in East Java, which reported the highest number of cases in 2021. The disease is transmitted through respiratory droplets and can lead to severe complications if not diagnosed and treated promptly. Diphtheria mortality can be reduced with appropriate treatment, along with good immunization status. Diagnosis can be made both clinically and through laboratory tests, including culturing the diphtheria bacteria from swabs of affected tissues. This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of healthcare workers in East Java, specifically in Sampang Regency, to manage diphtheria through training that included both theoretical and practical components. The training methods used included pre- and post-tests to assess knowledge, mini lectures on epidemiology, clinical symptoms, diphtheria vaccination, and management, along with case simulations to improve participants' practical skills. The program was attended by 42 participants from various healthcare professions, including doctors, nurses, health analysts, and surveillance officers The evaluation demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' knowledge after the training. This program contributed meaningfully to enhancing preparedness among local healthcare providers and is expected to support more robust early detection and response systems for diphtheria outbreaks in the future.

Abstract

Brain injuries have the third largest prevalence of other injuries in Indonesia. Most brain injuries occur on the road because of motorbike accidents. The only effective way to reduce the number of deaths due to brain injuries that occur in motorbike accidents is to use a helmet. SMA 1 Selong was chosen because the area is densely populated and awareness of wearing helmets is still low. Activities are carried out using lecture methods, demonstrations and carrying out pre-tests and post-tests. The activity was held in the SMA 1 Selong Hall on May 4, 2024, with 50 students participating in the training. The students' post-test results were 86.7, including knowledge in the good category. There is an increase in the knowledge of service participants regarding the advice of using helmets and preventing brain injuries.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of transportation grow, thus affecting the motorized vehicles number, especially motorbikes. This has consequences, namely traffic accidents. This provides encouragement for many parties to continue to socialize community service activities in order to encourage increased awareness of drivers in orderly traffic and also orderly parking of vehicles. The implementation of this traffic safety and orderly parking socialization activity was carried out for four days (February 10-13, 2025) in Bombana Regency with 80 service users who received socialization in the form of brochures and flyers by the socialization team. The results of the socialization evaluation obtained through the distribution of questionnaires showed that there was an increase in understanding of service users by 55.4% after socialization event, which indicates the effectiveness of understanding the contents of the material in encouraging increased understanding and awareness in safe, comfortable, safe traffic and obeying traffic rules.
