Abstract

The amateur radio community plays a strategic role in emergency communication, especially when conventional networks are disrupted during disasters. However, fire preparedness within this group remains limited. Fire risks mainly arise from electrical failures, short circuits due to non-standard equipment, and excessive heat from transmission devices. A lack of awareness regarding fire safety procedures, including the use of fire extinguishers (APAR), heightens vulnerability. This program aimed to improve fire preparedness among amateur radio operators in Mataram City through awareness campaigns and APAR training. The methods included observation, risk analysis, training development, implementation, and evaluation. Results revealed significant improvements in knowledge and practical skills, despite gaps in routine inspections and evacuation planning. The program strengthens the community's role not only as an emergency communication provider but also as an active fire mitigation agent, contributing to a safer and more resilient environment.

Abstract

The induction stove transition program in Sandik Village, Batulayar District, West Lombok Regency, was initiated to support the government's push for more efficient and eco-friendly energy use. Despite the benefits of induction stoves-such as energy efficiency, safety, and environmental advantages-LPG remains the dominant cooking fuel due to limited public awareness. The program involved education, practical demonstrations, and efficiency comparisons between induction and gas stoves, while also identifying challenges like limited household electricity and entrenched cooking habits. Evaluation results show improved community understanding and operational skills, along with increased awareness of clean energy transitions. This initiative strengthens the community’s readiness to adopt induction stoves and offers a replicable model to support sustainable energy policies in other regions.

Abstract

The implementation of the Village Community Empowerment (PMD) Real Work Lecture (KKN) is one of the programs that is one of the manifestations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. KKN PMD is one of the educational programs that implements student knowledge outside the campus. The creative economy is a theme that is one of the sectors focusing on creativity and knowledge as the main source of added value in obtaining added value for a product. South Korleko is one of the villages located in Labuhan Haji District, East Lombok Regency. The Natural Resources (SDA) owned by South Korleko Village are quite abundant. One of them is that there are moringa gardens or trees that have not been used optimally. One of them is the use of moringa leaves as a healthy food. A good processing process can increase the value of immunity for health, so that it can become a product with a high selling value. The process of making moringa leaves into flour has been socialized and practiced to become healthy food

Abstract

Many teachers face difficulties in writing scientific articles due to limited time, confusion in choosing topics, a lack of ideas, low enthusiasm, and insufficient understanding of how to write them. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be a helpful solution in overcoming these challenges. This program aims to enhance the understanding and use of AI among high school economics teachers in the city of Mataram. Several methods were used in implementing this program, including conducting a survey to identify the challenges faced, administering a pre-test to assess the teachers' initial knowledge of AI, delivering presentations on AI, providing a post-test for evaluation, and offering both offline and online consultation after the activity. This program was attended by 15 participants. The results showed that 62% of respondents demonstrated a good understanding, 23% showed fairly good results, and 15% showed less satisfactory results. These findings indicate that the program effectively improved teachers' knowledge of AI utilization.

Abstract

Marine debris, especially plastic waste in coastal areas, poses a significant threat to the sustainability of marine ecosystems and the livelihoods of communities that depend on them. Labu Sawo Beach in Sumbawa Regency, known as a strategic area with promising ecotourism potential, is currently facing issues related to coastal waste. As a form of community engagement, a service program was carried out with the aim of educating young people to become more aware of and actively involved in monitoring coastal waste. The methods used in this activity included the delivery of training materials, demonstrations of coastal waste monitoring techniques, and evaluations of the participants' understanding. The monitoring results generally indicated that Labu Sawo Beach is experiencing a serious waste accumulation problem, caused by its geographical location, increasing tourism activities, and waste carried through river streams. Furthermore, participants' understanding of the training materials significantly improved, with an average evaluation score increase of 95.73%. This activity demonstrates the crucial role of youth involvement. With proper training, they may become the front line in efforts to manage coastal waste in a more sustainable and data-driven manner

Abstract

The ability to communicate with stories is a special thing for generation Z. Telling stories with the works composed by Rsi and Bagawan in their time which until now continues to be used in the delivery of religious values, both positive norms and sebalikaya norms. The problem is that in the delivery of the story, it is necessary to appreciate and mimic expression.  The favorite story in Ithihasa is a Hindu story with a heroic study with a thick narration (Ramayana and Mahabrata). The spirit of heroism in the story evokes nationalism for love for the homeland and nation in the corridors of the Republic of Indonesia. One of the steps taken for the implementation of this program is a storytelling competition. The target of the competition is so that stories can go international by telling stories in English as an International Language. The competition began and was attended by representatives of schools and students in Mataram City. The enthusiasm for participating in the storytelling competition   was very enthusiastic.

Abstract

The Kosabangsa program aims to develop and apply science and technology resulting from university research to meet the needs and improve the community's welfare.  Through this Kosabangsa program, the implementation team and the assistance team collaborated to apply seed production methods and technology for male monosex tilapia cultivation in brackish water ponds of the Lalonggolosua Village Pond Farmer Group, which was the target partner and beneficiary. The problem faced by partners is the decline in pond production due to the failure of vaname shrimp farming so a commodity is needed to reinvigorate fish farming in ponds.  One of these commodities is male monosex tilapia because it has a high growth rate, can adapt well to brackish salinity, and prevents unwanted reproduction during the cultivation process. The stages of the Kosabangsa activity of male monosex tilapia farming technology consist of several stages, namely, the transfer of knowledge from the mentoring team to the implementation team, training and mentoring, and evaluation of activities. The results of Kosabangsa activities for approximately three months (September - December 2023) are that partners have applied the technique of installing tarpaulin ponds used for enlargement of prospective broodstock and seed production, application of wild honey for male monosexed seed production, and have applied the male monosexed tilapia enlargement method in partner farms.

Abstract

Puyahan Hamlet in South Lembar Village is one of the traditional crab peeling centers (Portunus pelagicus) on the west coast of Lombok Island. Women in the informal work system dominate this activity without social protection or quality standards. Despite playing an important role in Indonesia's crab export supply chain, women peelers still face major challenges in technical and institutional aspects. This service activity aims to increase technical capacity and strengthen the institution of women crab peeler groups through training in the processing of fishery products based on the principles of food sanitation and facilitating the formation of legal business organizations. The methods used include participatory social mapping, technical training based on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), group institutional formation, and participatory evaluation. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in participants' hygiene understanding and practices, with an average pre-test score of 35.4 and a post-test score of 82.1. In addition, the establishment of organizational structures and institutional legalization allowed groups access to advanced training and wider economic opportunities. This intervention has been proven to be able to encourage behavior change, strengthen women's socio-economic position in the fisheries value chain, and support the gender empowerment agenda in coastal areas in a sustainable manner. The program recommends replication in other coastal areas with a gender-responsive participatory approach to strengthen the economic resilience of women's fishing communities.
