Abstract

This study aims to improve the news listening skills of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Seluma through audiovisual media. The method used is quantitative with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 20 students who were selected randomly. Data were collected through news listening tests at the pretest and posttest stages, then analyzed by comparing the average scores. The results showed a significant increase from the average pretest score of 58.84 (Quite Capable category) to 82.72 in the posttest (Capable category). This finding proves that audiovisual media is effective in improving listening skills, especially in understanding the elements of 5W + 1H. The implication is that the use of audiovisual media needs to be optimized in Indonesian language learning to improve students' understanding and learning motivation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model assisted by Google Sites on the fantasy story writing skills of seventh-grade students. The background of this study is the low writing ability of students in developing ideas, plots, and text structures. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a posttest-only control group experimental design. The research sample consisted of an experimental class that received the CORE model assisted by Google Sites and a control class that used conventional learning. The instrument was a fantasy story writing test. The results showed that the posttest scores of the experimental class reached an average of 83.88, while the control class scored 65.27. The normality test showed that both groups were normally distributed with significance values of 0.019 and 0.014 (> 0.05), respectively. The homogeneity test also showed that the variances of the two groups were homogeneous (sig. 0.18 > 0.05). Furthermore, the t-test results showed a t-value of 10.653 with a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, the CORE model assisted by Google Sites had a significant and effective influence on improving students' fantasy story writing skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap representasi nilai-nilai sosial dan budaya masyarakat pesisir dalam cerpen “Sore Ketika Angin Laut Utara Memanggil” karya Annisa Moezha melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah menjawab pertanyaan: bagaimana interaksi antartokoh, konflik, dan latar cerita merefleksikan struktur sosial masyarakat pesisir, serta bagaimana modernisasi memengaruhi tradisi, hubungan antargenerasi, dan solidaritas komunitas. Cerpen ini menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat pesisir yang sangat bergantung pada laut, namun dihadapkan pada tekanan modernisasi yang memicu migrasi generasi muda, keterasingan, serta melemahnya solidaritas komunal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis teks, yaitu mengkaji interaksi tokoh, konflik, dan latar sosial budaya untuk mengidentifikasi representasi struktur sosial dan nilai-nilai budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai sosial seperti solidaritas, keteguhan, dan religiositas direpresentasikan melalui interaksi tokoh dan konflik yang muncul, sementara modernisasi menimbulkan ketegangan antara tradisi dan perubahan. Cerpen ini tidak hanya menyajikan realitas kehidupan masyarakat pesisir, tetapi juga mengkritik dampak modernisasi terhadap budaya dan hubungan antargenerasi. Penelitian ini menawarkan perspektif baru dalam memahami dinamika sosial dan budaya masyarakat pesisir melalui sudut pandang sosiologi sastra.

Abstract

The problem in this study is how the main character in Falistiyana's novel Gibran Dirgantara is portrayed. The purpose of this study is to describe how the main character in Falistiyana's novel Gibran Dirgantara is portrayed. In this novel, the main character, Gibran Dirgantara, is a high school teenager who exhibits a complex character and shows significant character development throughout the story. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with content analysis as the data analysis technique. The content referred to in this study is the main character's character as depicted in the quotations in Falistiyana's novel Gibran Dirgantara. Research data was obtained by reading the novel, marking or underlining each sentence, collecting the underlined parts of the novel, and clarifying the data into a detailed table of the text and analyzing it based on four types of character according to Gunawan's theory, namely sanguine, melancholic, choleric, and phlegmatic. The research findings show that Gibran's most dominant character is choleric, with a total score of.

Abstract

This study was conducted to develop imaginopoly media as an alternative that can encourage students' creativity in writing short stories at the junior high school level. This media is expected to provide a more interesting and interactive learning experience, as well as motivate students to explore ideas more freely, so that the writing process is no longer considered challenging or boring. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the imaginopoli media in improving short story writing skills and to determine the extent to which this media contributes positively to the development of students' writing skills. The method applied in this study was Research and Development (RND) using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, so that the development process was carried out systematically and in accordance with learning needs. The results of the validation test showed that the imaginopoly media was categorized as good, with an average score of 94.6% from media experts and 81.4% from subject matter experts. In addition, the student response test also showed very satisfactory results, with small classes obtaining an average score of 90.2% and large classes 89.3%. The response from teachers, who are important supporters in the teaching and learning process, also showed positive results with an average score of 84%. Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of the SIPENA Ukir Bahasa media (Application of Curious Language Meaning Based on Jepara Local Wisdom) as an innovative digital learning media to improve the ability to interpret words meaningfully in grade II elementary school students. The method used in the study is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of design analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test process by material and media experts, while practicality is obtained through teacher and student responses to the use of the application. The validation results show that this application is feasible to use with a score of 77% from media experts, and 74% from material experts. In addition, the results of the practicality test obtained from teacher and student responses are also very positive, with teacher responses of 85.8%, and 90% from students. Thus, the SIPENA application is considered interesting, easy to use, and relevant to the context of Jepara local wisdom, namely with the presence of carvings. The novelty of the SIPENA application offers innovation in the form of integrating Jepara local wisdom in learning the meaning of words based on Android. This integration makes learning more contextual and meaningful while also supporting the strengthening of character and cultural literacy in elementary school students.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa slang di kalangan mahasiswa Generasi Z semakin berkembang seiring pesatnya penggunaan media sosial dan komunikasi digital. Bahasa slang digunakan sebagai bentuk komunikasi yang lebih santai, akrab, dan ekspresif dalam interaksi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan bahasa slang oleh mahasiswa Generasi Z di lingkungan Kampus UPI Purwakarta serta mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk bahasa slang yang digunakan dalam komunikasi nonformal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitik. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 15 mahasiswa Generasi Z yang aktif berkuliah di Kampus UPI Purwakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner esai menggunakan Google Form. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, pengelompokan tema, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahasa slang dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal meliputi rasa nyaman, santai, percaya diri, dan kebutuhan beradaptasi, sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi lingkungan pertemanan, lingkungan kampus, media sosial, serta tren digital. Bentuk bahasa slang yang digunakan mahasiswa meliputi akronim, frasa bahasa asing, modifikasi kata, dan ungkapan ekspresif. Penggunaan bahasa slang mencerminkan gaya komunikasi mahasiswa Generasi Z yang santai, fleksibel, dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman.

Abstract

This study examines the cultural significance of the Mendhem Ari-Ari tradition in Candisari Village, Grobogan Regency. It focuses on two main aspects: the verbal and nonverbal aspects that emerge during the tradition. Using a cultural semantics, semiotics, and etnolinguistics framework, the study attempts to understand how symbols, actions, and utterances within the tradition reflect the perspectives and cultural values of the local community. Data were collected through direct interviews, recordings, and note-taking, with the Candisari Village community as the primary source. Of the 22 items collected, 21 are nonverbal and only one is verbal. Analysis using the matching method shows that each element of the Mendhem Ari-Ari tradition has a meaning related to hopes for safety, protection, and prayers for the growth and future of newborns. This tradition ultimately demonstrates how the community maintains cultural values through inherited symbols and practice.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of imagery in the poetry collection Kopi Kehidupan. The background of this study emphasizes the tendency of poets to use complex and abstract language, resulting in a lack of clarity in meaning. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The data source is the book Kopi Kehidupan, collected through documentation techniques by reading, marking, and grouping. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and time triangulation to protect authenticity. The results of the study show six types of imagery with 36 quotations, including 9 quotations of visual imagery, 7 auditory, 3 tactile, 15 movement, 1 olfactory, and 1 gustatory. All of the imagery embellished the poems and reinforced the moral messages and religious diction embedded in Mr. Sae's poems, which contain values of struggle.

Abstract

Mobilitas pekerja migran Indonesia di Korea Selatan yang terus meningkat telah menciptakan kebutuhan komunikasi multibahasa yang semakin kompleks di lingkungan industri manufaktur. Salah satu tantangan utama yang dihadapi pekerja migran adalah memahami instruksi kerja, prosedur operasional standar, dan peringatan keselamatan yang sebagian besar disusun dalam bahasa Korea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesepadanan makna pada penerjemahan teks protokol kerja berbahasa Korea ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan bantuan mesin penerjemah di lingkungan pabrik manufaktur. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi teks kerja, observasi partisipatif, dan wawancara mendalam terhadap pekerja migran Indonesia yang bekerja di salah satu pabrik manu-faktur di Incheon, Korea Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mesin penerjemah mampu membantu proses pemahaman informasi secara cepat, tetapi masih menghasilkan berbagai bentuk ketidakakuratan makna berupa ambiguitas leksikal, kesalahan register, bias semantis, dan pergeseran makna pada istilah teknis industri. Istilah seperti jjikhim, suchuk, imul, dan miseonghyeong sering diterjemahkan secara harfiah sehingga tidak mampu merepresentasikan makna operasional yang sebenarnya di lingkungan produksi. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa pekerja senior berperan penting sebagai mediator linguistik yang menjembatani kesenjangan komunikasi melalui interpretasi kontekstual dan demonstrasi visual. Temuan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kolaborasi antara teknologi penerjemahan dan mediasi manusia merupakan faktor penting dalam menciptakan komunikasi yang efektif, menjaga keselamatan kerja, serta meningkatkan efisiensi produksi pada lingkungan kerja multibahasa.
