Abstract

This study used a quantitative approach to analyze the influence of parenting styles and teaching methods on students' learning independence. All fifth-grade students at the school constituted the study population, with a sample of 20 students selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, while data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression. The results show that parenting styles have a greater impact (t = 5.155, p < 0.05) than teaching styles (t = 2.780, p < 0.05). The F-test confirms a significant combined effect (F = 12.917, p < 0.0001), with an R² value of 0.618, indicating that 61.8% of learning independence is explained by these variables. The findings highlight the importance of democratic parenting and interactive teaching in fostering student autonomy. Collaboration between parents and teachers is essential for maximizing learning independence.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of applying the science process skills (KPS) approach to student learning outcomes in the Basic Concepts of Science course. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection is carried out by observation, tests and documentation. Primary data sources are obtained from learning outcomes and student responses regarding the implementation of learning using a process skills approach. Meanwhile, secondary data is based on literature and previous research related to science process skills. Data analysis was carried out using the normality test, paired sample t test and N-Gain test. The population in this study were students of the 2023 class of the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, Surabaya State University. Using a random sample from class B with a total of 43 students. The research results showed that the average pre-test score was 68.76, then after applying science process skills the average post-test score was 84.27, which shows effectiveness in increasing students' understanding of basic science concepts courses. This is supported by N-Gain data which produces an increase of 0.60 in the moderate increase category.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the value-based local wisdom of the Karo Batak community, especially in the customary inheritance law system. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained from various sources, including literature, interviews with traditional leaders, and direct observation of inheritance law practices in the Karo Batak community. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, document studies, and participatory observation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and inductive inference. The results showed that the Karo Batak customary inheritance law is based on a patrilineal system, where the eldest son is the main heir. However, in certain situations, women also have the right to inherit property, especially if there are no sons in the family. Inherited property, especially land or hereditary property, tends to be passed down patrilineally to maintain the continuity of the lineage. In addition, the role of ancestors is very influential in the process of distributing inheritance, with strong customary mechanisms to resolve conflicts. The conclusion of this study shows that although Batak Karo customary inheritance law is still practiced, modernization has brought challenges and adaptations to this system. Urbanization, education, and the influence of national laws have led some families to adopt a combination of customary and state laws to suit social and economic needs. Therefore, policies that accommodate cultural values and aspects of justice in inheritance practices in the Karo Batak community are recommended to remain relevant to the times.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance with modeling techniques in increasing student learning independence. This quantitative research with a one-group pre-test-post-test pre-experimental design aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance with modeling techniques in improving the learning independence of students in grade XI MAS Plus Al-Ulum Medan. Data was obtained from a learning independence questionnaire, with a sample of 12 students selected using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out through pre-test and post-test, which was then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that group guidance with modeling techniques was effective in increasing students' learning independence, with a significance value of 0.002. This increase can be seen from the average pre-test score of 73.58 (low-medium) to 98.83 (medium-high) in the post-test. It is proven that group guidance with modeling techniques is an effective method to increase student learning independence.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the effectiveness of using the Blooket application in enhancing Akidah Akhlak learning at SMP Muhammadiyah Kasihan. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed by using primary and secondary data sources. Primary data is obtained from interviews and observations, while secondary data is collected through documentation. The data was collected through interviews and questionnaires involving Akidah Akhlak teachers and 7th-grade students around 25 students. The analysis process included data reduction, presentation, and verification. The study found that before using Blooket, learning relied on traditional, less engaging methods, leading to low student participation. After implementing Blooket, student motivation and involvement increased significantly. All students found Blooket accessible, 96% considered it effective for learning, and 92% found it more engaging. The app's strength lies in its gamification features, making learning enjoyable and competitive. Gamification tools like Blooket offer an innovative approach to enhancing Akidah Akhlak education in the digital era.
