Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the kinesthetic learning style on the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among Year 4 students at MIN Bangkalan. This research employs a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 36 participants. The research data were obtained through a kinesthetic learning style questionnaire, observations, and a learning outcomes test on the topic of Friday prayer. Data analysis techniques included the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Pearson correlation analysis to examine the relationship between kinesthetic learning style and PAI learning outcomes, and simple regression analysis to assess the impact of kinesthetic learning style on students' academic performance. The findings indicate a significant influence of kinesthetic learning style on PAI learning outcomes, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. Students with a kinesthetic learning style exhibit characteristics such as enhanced recall through movement and hands-on practice, as well as a preference for physical activity. These findings suggest that the application of kinesthetic learning strategies can serve as an effective approach to improving PAI learning outcomes among primary school students, particularly in subjects requiring practical comprehension.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of a play-based program in developing linguistic skills, specifically listening and speaking, among kindergarten children aged 5-6 years. Using a one-group experimental design, the research was conducted in Zakho, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with a sample of 35 kindergarten children (18 males, 17 females). The program consisted of 14 sessions over seven weeks, incorporating various educational games and storytelling activities designed to enhance auditory discrimination, visual discrimination, pronunciation accuracy, and verbal expression. Pre and post-tests measured the development of linguistic skills using standardized assessment tools. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-tests revealed significant improvements in both listening skills (t=14.36, p<0.05) and speaking skills (t=6.34, p<0.05) following the intervention, with large effect sizes of 2.42 and 1.07 respectively. Additionally, gender-based analysis demonstrated statistically significant differences favouring females in skills acquisition. The findings confirm the effectiveness of play-based learning in enhancing linguistic competencies among kindergarten children and provide valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers in early childhood education, highlighting the importance of interactive, play-based approaches in developing fundamental language skills in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of metacognition-based learning strategies in improving the understanding of Pancasila values material in Class VI MIN 1 Majene students. This study uses a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research to explore the implementation of metacognition-based learning strategies in improving students' understanding of Pancasila values at MIN 1 Majene, West Sulawesi. Primary data were collected through learning observations, interviews with Pancasila teachers and students, and tests or questionnaires to assess students' comprehension before and after the strategy's implementation. Secondary data included documents such as Lesson Plans (RPP), curriculum, and records of school activities. The research subjects were class VI students and their Pancasila teachers. Instruments included comprehension tests, self-reflection questionnaires, observation sheets, and semi-structured interview guidelines to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. The study followed steps including preliminary observations, the design and pilot of a metacognition-based learning model, and data collection through various instruments. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data, with triangulation employed to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings. The results of this study show that the implementation of metacognition-based learning strategies has proven to be effective in improving students' understanding of Pancasila material in class VI students. Before the implementation of the strategy, most students had a low understanding, but after its implementation, there was a significant increase in the average score of students, which was in the high category. The results of the t-test showed a very significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores, proving that this strategy not only improves comprehension but also has a deeper impact on the learning process, especially for materials that require in-depth conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study examines the factors behind the low performance of madrasahs in West Sulawesi based on IASP 2020, analyzing root causes and assessing the impact of school management and teacher quality on educational outcomes. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study integrates quantitative and qualitative analyses. The quantitative phase examines secondary data from the National Accreditation Board, focusing on school leadership, teacher quality, teaching effectiveness, and student achievement. Correlation and regression analyses are employed to determine significant influences on madrasa performance. In the qualitative phase, 18 low-performing madrasahs are selected for focus group discussions (FGDs) and semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, students, and education experts. Thematic analysis identifies recurring patterns, with findings triangulated against quantitative data for reliability and validity. The population in this study consists of 62 madrasahs targeted for accreditation in West Sulawesi in 2023. A sample of 36 madrasahs accredited with a C rating was then selected. The results highlight that school management and teacher quality are critical but often constrained by inadequate planning, inefficient resource allocation, and limited professional development. Additionally, learning processes and student quality mediate accreditation outcomes. The study underscores the necessity of comprehensive management reforms and targeted teacher training programs to enhance madrasa performance. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders, offering evidence-based strategies to improve Islamic education quality in West Sulawesi.

Data analysis using the flow of activities as proposed by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data display and conclusions, drawing, and verification. The technique of sharpening the validity of data in this study is to use triangulation techniques. The results of this study are the modernisation of memorising the Qur'an with modern methods is significant to student learning motivation, especially in Gamification of learning to increase engagement and ease of access to increase the spirit of learning and improve the speed of memorisation to be higher and the existence of variations in memorisation methods according to student learning styles. While memorising the Qur'an with traditional methods has a significant effect on the effectiveness of student memorisation, especially in the quality of tajweed that is more guaranteed, and the memorisation process is more methodical, as well as a deeper understanding of the context of the verse. So it can be concluded that traditional Qur'anic memorisation methods and modern methods each have advantages and limitations. Therefore, the integration of both methods, i.e., combining the strengths of traditional methods and the convenience of modern technology, can produce more optimal results. This combination allows students to get direct correction from the teacher while utilising the convenience of self-learning with technology, thus increasing memorisation effectiveness and long-term memory retention. It also provides time flexibility for students without compromising the quality of teaching and learning.

Abstract

This study analyzes religious teachers' human resource management process at SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi in supporting student character development. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers analyzed the data using the Miles and Huberman analysis model, including data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions or verification. The study results indicate that the recruitment process for religious teachers prioritizes religious aspects, participation in religious organizations, solidarity, and discipline. Teacher development is done directly through internal discussions, WhatsApp groups, sharing sessions, and shared perceptions. The religious team routinely performs monthly and semester evaluations to assess craftsmanship, discipline, and order improvements. Implementing this human resource management has succeeded in forming a compact team, establishing good communication, and creating a positive work environment, resulting in competent and disciplined religious teachers. This human resource management of religious teaching impacts improving the quality of religious programs implemented to develop student character so that students are more disciplined in worship, have an increased understanding of the fiqh of prayer, and are more responsible. In addition to realizing the success of the religious program, this can also provide insight to the community that public high schools also have the potential to improve religious character in students.
