Abstract

One of the programs initiated by the Bogor City Department of Housing and Settlement is the Bogor Slum-Free Movement for the Acceleration Strategy of Beautiful, Healthy, Safe, and Comfortable Settlements, abbreviated as Gerobak Sae Pisan, which aims to boost the people's economy, MSMEs, and community empowerment. The pilot project for the implementation of Gerobak Sae Pisan is located in Mantarena Lebak RW 02, Panaragan Village. The implementation of this community service activity is a follow-up to previous activities, namely providing assistance in producing various taro-based products. Using a participatory approach method through intensive motivation with a personal and small group approach, the issue was found that partners lack confidence both in making products and in marketing. Therefore, intensive mentoring is required to prepare them to venture into the culinary business, in this case through bazaar activities as a means of self-actualization, so that the products are better known to the wider community and to increase income. Featured products made from taro are still being developed in Mantarena, Panaragan Village, Bogor, where so far no other area has developed them. Bazaar activities are an effort to introduce featured taro-based products and increase MSMEs' income.

Abstract

Red chili peppers hold substantial economic potential but face various challenges that affect production outcomes. One of the main issues encountered by the Sejati farmer group in Cenrana Baru Village is Fusarium wilt disease, which poses a serious threat to chili cultivation and can significantly reduce yields if left unmanaged. Trichoderma sp. is known to be effective in suppressing soil-borne pathogens while also enhancing plant growth through antagonistic mechanisms and improvement of soil fertility. This community service program aims to enhance the farmers’ knowledge and skills regarding the benefits and techniques of propagating Trichoderma sp. as a biological control agent and to facilitate the production of trichocompost. The implementation stages include preparation, socialization, training, and mentoring in the propagation of Trichoderma sp. and the production of trichocompost. The training activities were carried out directly with the Sejati farmer group and the community of Cenrana Baru Village. Improvements in farmers’ knowledge and skills were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The qualitative analysis involved observing changes in participants’ behavior and understanding, while the quantitative analysis was obtained from pretest and posttest questionnaires, which were converted into percentage values and subsequently described. The results indicate strong enthusiasm from the Sejati farmer group, who actively practiced Trichoderma sp. propagation and trichocompost production. There was a noticeable increase in knowledge and skills based on the comparison of pretest and posttest scores. This PKM activity is expected to strengthen the independence of the Sejati farmer group in controlling Fusarium disease and implementing sustainable chili cultivation practices.

Abstract

Household waste management has become a serious issue in coastal areas, particularly in stilt-house settlements that lack a structured waste management system. RT 36 Gang Rakyat, located in Klandasan Ilir Subdistrict, Balikpapan Kota District, was chosen as the activity site because the community still tends to burn or dispose of waste indiscriminately and has a low level of awareness regarding waste separation. This community service activity aimed to increase residents’ awareness and skills in waste management. The implementation methods included field surveys, community clean-up and awareness campaigns, demonstrations of compost-making from organic waste, creative recycling training for inorganic waste, and evaluation of the results. The outcomes showed that residents became interested in sorting and processing waste. They successfully produced compost used for medicinal and vegetable plants around their homes and created simple products from inorganic waste, such as tissue holders. This community service activity transformed residents’ perceptions of waste from useless material into a valuable resource. The model has the potential to serve as a sustainable waste management approach that can be replicated in other coastal communities.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the coffee sector in Jepara Regency have great potential to support local economic growth and the development of the region's tourism sector. However, most coffee SMEs still face challenges in digital marketing, particularly with location-based searches, which are increasingly used by consumers. The low visibility of coffee SMEs on Google Maps makes it difficult for both local consumers and tourists to find business locations online. This community service activity aims to implement a hyperlocal SEO-based digital branding strategy through the utilization of Google Maps with the Google Business Profile feature. The service method is carried out through mentoring for coffee SMEs, including creating and verifying business profiles, optimizing business information using local keywords, managing customer reviews, and integrating Google Maps profiles with social media and SME websites. The results of the activity show an increase in the visibility of coffee SMEs in local search results, an increase in consumer interactions in the form of route searches and phone calls, and an increase in direct visits to business locations. The implementation of this strategy has proven effective as a low-cost, easy-to-implement, and sustainable digital branding solution for expanding local consumer reach.

Abstract

Tanjung Gading Tourism is located in Karang Joang Km 12, North Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. This tourist attraction offers the appeal of beautiful, cool natural surroundings and is equipped with facilities such as boat tours, camping, interesting photo spots, a playground, gazebos, and local cuisine. Despite its great potential for development, this destination does not yet have merchandise that represents Tanjung Gading Tourism as souvenirs for visitors. Merchandise can be an alternative medium for branding and promoting tourism. The solutions provided through this community service program are (1) creating various merchandise designs, including mugs, tumblers, key chains, aromatherapy candles, T-shirts, and tote bags with identities that represent Tanjung Gading Tourism; (2) providing merchandise production training; and (3) basic digital marketing training. In addition, intensive assistance was provided for production, promotion, and sales. The questionnaire results showed that during the program, the partners/participants, consisting of around 23-36 members of Pokdarwis and the managers of Tanjung Gading Tourism, were very enthusiastic, with more than 90% participating, the participants' skills improving by 100%, and the questionnaire results also showed a positive response rate of 99%. After receiving training and guidance, the participants/partners were also very satisfied and felt greatly assisted by this program. The partners have also successfully produced Tanjung Gading Tourism merchandise and marketed it to visitors. This not only has a positive impact on the branding and promotion of Tanjung Gading Tourism but also increases economic potential and income opportunities for the local community, particularly the Pokdarwis of Tanjung Gading Tourism.

Abstract

This community service activity addresses the value of the third principle of Pancasila through Pancasila Education, a unifying principle, utilizing interactive learning. The main issues raised are students' lack of understanding of the meaning of unity and the suboptimal use of learning strategies that directly foster tolerance, cooperation, and respect for diversity. This community service activity provides a solution to these problems: the use of an interactive learning model focused on student-centered activities, such as educational games, group discussions, and project-based learning. The results of this community service activity demonstrate that interactive learning can increase student participation, empathy, and awareness of the importance of unity in social life. Furthermore, this learning approach can foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, proven to strengthen positive interactions between students. Overall, this community service activity concludes that the integration of interactive learning into Pancasila Education has proven effective in internalizing Pancasila values, particularly the value of unity, and can enhance social cohesion within the school environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to improve the efficiency and transparency of waste management through the development of a web-based information system called SekarCycle at the Sekar Waste Bank in RT 18 Balikpapan. The background of this activity is the process of recording waste transactions that have been done manually, which tends to be inefficient, prone to errors, and difficult to track. Starting with field observations and determining partner needs, the activity continued with the creation of a digital system, user instructions, and the development of social media accounts as a means of education. The results of the activity showed the ability of the SekarCycle system to accelerate recording, improve data accuracy, and make transaction reports easier. Educational activities and ecoenzyme workshops also encouraged residents to use household waste management methods. This program shows that sustainable waste management at the community level can be achieved through the integration of appropriate technology and participatory methods.

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower a group of housewives in Alata Village, Gorontalo, through optimizing the production and marketing of water hyacinth handicrafts. Alata Hande Made MSMEs, as existing artisan partners, face challenges in production scalability and limited marketing reach. The main problems identified are the lack of technical production skills in housewives and the lack of utilization of digital marketing to reach a wider market. The solutions offered include intensive technical training on the entire production process, from raw material processing to finished products, as well as digital marketing training that includes the use of social media, product photography, and simple financial recording. The method of implementation of this program uses a participatory approach that is divided into five stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The implementation of appropriate technologies such as portable drying racks and digital templates for the calculation of the cost of production (COGS) is also carried out to improve efficiency. This Program is expected to increase the skills and economic income of partner families, create competitive local product brands, and support the sustainable use of Natural Resources in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
