Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, with a prevalence of 34.1% in 2023. The contributing factors include limited access to health services, low socioeconomic conditions, and lack of parental knowledge regarding balanced nutrition. This community service activity aimed to improve public knowledge through a cooking demonstration using local food resources, featuring morfish nuggets made from yellowtail fish and moringa leaves, which are rich in protein and micronutrients. The method consisted of preparation, recipe trials, obtaining permissions, coordination with the community, and a cooking demonstration involving local mothers in Ganti Village, Donggala. The results indicated active participation of 12 mothers who directly engaged in cooking, learned about nutritional content, and practiced processing local food into healthy snacks. This activity successfully raised community awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and provided a practical solution for stunting prevention using local food resources. In conclusion, the “Samba’a Naseha” cooking demonstration with morfish nuggets proved effective as a nutrition education medium, with potential to improve household dietary practices and support efforts to reduce stunting rates in endemic areas.

Abstract

Early financial literacy plays a crucial role in fostering rational and responsible financial attitudes and behaviors. Nevertheless, the delivery of saving literacy materials for Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah students often faces challenges due to the use of instructional methods that are less engaging and not fully aligned with the characteristics of the alpha generation. This community service program aims to improve students’ savings literacy through the use of animated media at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Swasta Maslakul Falah Klaling Kudus. The program employed an interactive approach supported by contextually designed animated videos. The implementation was conducted through systematic stages, including planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation, with fourth-grade students as the target participants. The findings indicate that the use of animated media effectively enhanced students’ learning engagement, comprehension, and active participation in understanding fundamental financial literacy concepts, such as the function of money, distinguishing between needs and wants, the benefits of saving, and the establishment of simple financial goals. Animated media proved to be an effective educational tool that aligns with the digital-oriented characteristics of Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah students. This program is expected to serve as an alternative model for delivering financial literacy education that is both effective and engaging at the primary education level .

Abstract

The lack of knowledge among adolescents about exclusive breastfeeding and reproductive health is a barrier in preparing the younger generation to support breastfeeding practices in the future. This community service activity aims to improve adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and motivation at SMK RISE Cirebon Regency, supporting sustainable reproductive health through breastfeeding education. Held on August 1, 2025, coinciding with World Breastfeeding Week, the activity involved 66 12th-grade students, the principal, teachers, and a cross-disciplinary team of lecturers, students, and laboratory staff. An educational, promotive, and participatory approach was used through presentations, educational videos, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and pre- and post-test evaluations. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, from an average pre-test score of 6.77 ± 2.10 to a post-test score of 10.59 ± 2.16, with the knowledge category shifting from "Low" to "Medium" and "High." Active participation demonstrated adolescents’ understanding of the role of families in supporting breastfeeding mothers. These findings confirm that breastfeeding education for adolescents effectively improves health literacy, fosters positive attitudes, and raises awareness of the importance of adolescent support for maternal and child health. This strategy serves as a promotive and preventive approach to sustainably support exclusive breastfeeding programs.

Abstract

Hydrodynamic testing is a crucial stage in ship design to ensure vessel performance and safety in accordance with design criteria. This testing is commonly conducted using small-scale ship models that must satisfy the principles of geometric, kinematic, and dynamic similarity. However, students of the Shipbuilding Engineering Study Program at the University of Jember have limited understanding and practical skills in constructing ship testing models, which may affect the quality of resistance and seakeeping experiments. This training activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in developing ship testing models that comply with hydrodynamic principles. The activity was implemented through a structured training program covering ship design, including three-dimensional modeling, two-dimensional lines plan preparation, scale determination, detailed design, and cutting plan development, followed by model construction stages such as frame marking and cutting, structural assembly, hull fabrication, finishing, and final model preparation. The results indicate improved student competence in producing ship testing models with appropriate shape and scale accuracy, making them suitable for hydrodynamic laboratory experiments and supporting other academic activities such as research and fast boat competitions.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has opened up new opportunities to improve the efficiency of the learning process, particularly in terms of how teachers can prepare teaching materials more innovatively and efficiently. However, the use of AI technology in education still faces several challenges, primarily due to teachers' limited digital literacy. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to help PKBM Maleo teachers improve their digital competency by teaching them how to use AI applications, specifically ChatGPT, when preparing lessons. In this activity, Participatory Action Research (PAR) is the approach method used in this activity. PAR supports active partner participation in every step of the process, such as problem identification, program planning, training implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The training activity was held in January 2026 with 14 teachers participating, with the results of the activity evaluation carried out using pre-test and post-test methods to measure the level of participants' understanding of the material provided. The pre-test results showed a significant increase in participant understanding, with an average score of 97.14, while the post-test results showed an increase to 85.7% to 100%. The results of this PKM activity demonstrate that AI training with ChatGPT can help teachers improve their digital literacy skills and better prepare learning materials. It is hoped that this activity will encourage the wise and productive use of artificial intelligence technology in learning in non-formal schools.
