Abstract

The fishing community in South Ambesia Village faces major obstacles, including limited market access and a long catch distribution chain. To address these issues, an innovative information technology application, the SITANPAS (Fisherman's Catch Information and Marketing System), has been implemented, integrated with ICT devices on fishing nets and catch monitoring posts at the docks. This initiative began with outreach, training, and assistance in using the application, followed by the installation of catch monitoring devices and the strengthening of the fishermen's cooperative as a platform for business management and product distribution. The implementation results demonstrate increased marketing efficiency, with fishermen able to report their catches in real time, and buyers gaining direct access to seafood at more competitive prices. Sales lead times are reduced, distribution is faster, and market reach is expanded. Furthermore, the cooperative strengthens financial and marketing governance, giving fishermen a better bargaining position. Scientific findings from this initiative confirm that the digitalization of coastal community-based information systems can drive the transformation of fishing villages toward sustainable economic independence.

Abstract

Ngablak Village in Dander Subdistrict, Bojonegoro Regency, is a flood-prone area due to the annual overflow of the Bengawan Solo River. This condition hinders the community, especially traditional herbal medicine artisans, in cultivating Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as the main raw material. Through a community service program, the PPK Ormawa UKM P2J team from Universitas Bojonegoro introduced an agricultural innovation using a bamboo-based verticulture system as an environmentally friendly and flood-adaptive solution. The activities included site surveys, coordination with village officials, socialization, training, hands-on practice in planting TOGA, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results show that verticulture not only reduces the risk of crop damage caused by flooding but also utilizes the abundant local bamboo resources that are often underutilized. Participants gained practical skills in constructing, maintaining, and applying verticulture media, enabling them to implement it independently. This program provides Ngablak villagers, particularly herbal medicine artisans, with an alternative solution to ensure sustainable raw material availability. In conclusion, bamboo-based verticulture can enhance community self-reliance, strengthen traditional herbal enterprises, and support local economic resilience in flood-prone areas.

Abstract

The implementation of ICT has entered the world of Indonesian vocational education, especially in Vocational High Schools. SMK Suarna Wisata Tes, until this training, did not have a centralized and official digital-based information system. The presentation and dissemination of information are still done through several social media platforms, requiring special attention in the management process. Addressing this issue, the Community Service Team of the Information Technology Study Program at the University of Timor developed and conducted training on a digital information system (website) for SMK Suarna Wisata. The main objective of this activity is to assist the school in managing data and information digitally and centrally. The general public can easily access information about the school, teachers, and school activities. The public and the school can communicate through the Suggestions page available on this website. As a result of this Community Service activity, SMK Suarna Tes has a centralized information system management center that the wider community can access. All information about the school is available to the public without needing to visit the SMK Suarna location directly.

Abstract

Scientific writing is a fundamental competency that must be mastered by students as part of the learning process and the development of knowledge. One of the major challenges in academic writing is the management of references, including the preparation of citations and bibliographies in accordance with academic standards. At the University of Al-Qolam Malang, many students still encounter difficulties in effectively utilizing reference management software, particularly Mendeley. To address this issue, a community service program was conducted in the form of Mendeley training for students, using a hands-on practice approach supported by active facilitation. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in students' digital literacy related to reference management, the ability to generate citations and bibliographies automatically, and an increased awareness of academic ethics. Furthermore, the program encouraged the emergence of an initiative to form a Mendeley user community as a sustainability effort. Recommendations include integrating Mendeley training into the curriculum, providing digital modules, offering advanced training, and strengthening institutional support through collaboration with strategic campus units. Therefore, this training contributes to enhancing the quality of students’ academic writing and fostering a technology-based academic culture within the University of Al-Qolam Malang.

Abstract

Nutritional problems remain a major public health concern in Indonesia, particularly in developing regions such as Southeast Sulawesi Province. According to the 2025 Health Profile, the prevalence of stunting in this province is still around 27 to 30 percent. This situation indicates that public awareness regarding proper nutrition from pregnancy until the first two years of a child’s life still needs to be strengthened. This community service program was implemented in Tanggobu Village, Morosi Subdistrict, Konawe Regency an active mining area with socioeconomic challenges that can affect child care and nutritional fulfillment. The main goal of this activity was to improve the health and nutritional status of children through education on the importance of the First 1000 Days of Life (1000 HPK) as a preventive effort against stunting. The activity involved 35 mothers of toddlers and was carried out through interactive lectures and group discussions. Participants’ knowledge was measured before and after the educational intervention to assess its effectiveness. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 4.91 to 7.69 with a p < 0.05, indicating a significant difference after the educational session. This improvement demonstrates that educational interventions effectively enhanced mothers’ understanding of balanced nutrition and proper childcare practices. It is recommended that similar programs be conducted regularly and integrated with community health services to encourage sustainable behavioral changes toward healthier and more nutritious families.

Abstract

Emergency care services at primary health care centers demand effective interprofessional collaboration to ensure patient safety and quality of care. However, the practice of interprofessional collaboration (IPC) in primary care still faces challenges due to limited role understanding and lack of team communication skills. This community engagement program aimed to improve the collaborative competencies of health workers at primary health care centers through case-based emergency simulation training. The clinical simulation was designed as a form of interprofessional education to build cross-professional coordination in responding to critical situations, while providing a safe and structured training environment. Evaluation was carried out through field observation and the Interprofessional Collaborative Competency Attainment Survey (ICCAS), which consists of 20 statements rated on a 7-point scale, where 1 indicates strong disagreement and 7 indicates strong agreement. The survey measured aspects of communication, shared decision-making, feedback, and role understanding among professions. The results showed that the simulation effectively enhanced health workers' preparedness to handle critical situations collaboratively. Most participants demonstrated increased scores in various aspects of collaborative competencies after the training. Case-based emergency simulation has the potential to become a relevant learning approach to strengthen team collaboration skills in primary care, while supporting the emergency response system at the community level.
