Abstract

Child health is a crucial issue for the future of the nation, where nutrition is a major concern. Nutritional disorders in children can lead to obesity, learning disabilities, developmental disorders, chronic diseases, and cancer, influenced by genetic factors, socio-economics, parental education, history of infection, and intake patterns. Anthropometric measurements are used to detect these disorders. This community service activity aims to provide socialization about balanced nutrition through the concept of “Isi Piringku” and prevention of helminthiasis, as well as measuring the nutritional status of 316 students of SD Negeri 133888. The results showed that 87% of students had good nutritional status, while 13% had nutritional disorders, consisting of 5.4% undernutrition, 3.8% overnutrition, and 3.8% obesity. Further research is needed to identify factors that contribute to these nutritional disorders, so that appropriate interventions in community service activities can be designed to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition in the future.

Abstract

Barania Village is one of the villages located in West Sinjai District, which has significant tourism and Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) potential but has not been fully exploited. With tourist attractions such as Galung Village and Salu Birayya Waterfall, this village offers opportunities to increase people's income. However, the challenges faced include weak human resource management and a lack of innovation in managing tourism and MSMEs. The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK ORMAWA) from Muhammadiyah Sinjai University aims to provide training and assistance in tourism management and MSME development. Through this initiative, it is hoped that there will be an increase in community knowledge and creativity, as well as the formation of a widely known local brand. The output of this program includes development guidebooks, new products, and an increase in the number of visitors to the village, thereby encouraging sustainable local economic growth.

Abstract

The culinary segment is one of Tasikmalaya city's strengths in attracting both local and out-of-town tourists. Amidst the proliferation of culinary franchises, the food industry is striving to maintain its competitiveness with culinary companies from outside the city, which are backed by capital, brand image, and, of course, employees with superior skills compared to MSME employees who have not received training. The subject of this activity is culinary entrepreneurs in Tasikmalaya city, and the training was held at the Baso Mang Ja'i Tasikmalaya Hall. The main objective of this activity is to help provide business understanding for culinary entrepreneurs in the field of human resource management. From the results of the training, participants responded with questions related to ways to improve work effectiveness and performance, which were complained about by culinary entrepreneurs in Tasikmalaya city. Thus, it can be seen that the audience felt the direct benefits of the community service activities that had been carried out because they contained solutions to the problems faced by the attendees in these activities.

Abstract

Rubbish has become a national problem in Indonesia, including in Ciambar Village, Sukabumi. Public awareness and participation in Ciambar Village is still lacking. This is due to the lack of public knowledge regarding the basic principles of waste management through 3R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) and the lack of public knowledge about the potential of a circular economy. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct education and socialization of domestic waste management in Ciambar. This PkM aims to improve awareness and ability of the Cianjur village community to manage waste in the form of implementation of waste processing activities to reduce the amount of waste and increase the utility of waste through waste banks. This PkM is a multidisciplinary PKM that aims to Downstream the results of multidisciplinary research that provides acceleration of quality and quantity to realize Village SDGs. In this PKM there are two materials, namely materials on education and socialization regarding the urgency of implementing good waste management and regarding the right ways and methods of waste management. Based on the results of the evaluation of understanding the material, it was found that almost all participants had understood the material provided. Feedback from beneficiaries indicates that this activity provides great benefits and a desire to continue the program.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that plays a crucial role in developing students' logical and analytical thinking skills. However, at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember, it was found that second-grade students had low interest in mathematics. Students tended to be less enthusiastic about learning due to conventional teaching methods and the lack of interactive media. Therefore, this community service program aims to increase students' interest in learning mathematics through the implementation of engaging and interactive educational games. The method used in this program includes training teachers and students on the use of educational games based on traditional games, such as engklek and jejak kaki tangan. These activities were conducted in a competitive yet enjoyable atmosphere, where students actively participated in the games while solving math problems. The evaluation was carried out by observing student engagement and gathering feedback from teachers. The results showed that students became more enthusiastic and active in learning mathematics after using educational games. They not only understood concepts better but also enjoyed the learning process. In conclusion, educational games have proven to be effective in increasing students' interest in mathematics and can serve as an innovative learning method in elementary schools.

Abstract

The preparation of financial statements is an obligation for every organization or enterprise, whether profit-oriented or non-profit. However, more specifically for non-profit organizations, this obligation arises as a form of transparency and accountability for the use of the funds received. Therefore, as an effort to improve the quality of financial reporting, a good understanding of the Financial Accounting Standards Interpretation (ISAK) 335, which regulates the preparation of financial statements for non-profit entities, is required by fund managers. Therefore, this socialisation activity was conducted at the Rumah Sakit Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Umat (RS PKU) Muhammadiyah Makassar, which is one of the not-for-profit oriented entities. The activity aims to enhance the hospital management's understanding of ISAK 335, provide practical guidance in preparing non-profit financial statements by accounting standards, improve transparency and accountability in hospital financial management, and prevent potential errors in financial statement presentation that could impact audits and decision-making. The results of the conducted socialisation activities are expected to contribute to the hospital's implementation of ISAK 335, which can then enhance transparency, allowing donors and stakeholders to understand how funds are used, and facilitate the audit process, as the reports become more systematic and in accordance with general accounting standards.

Abstract

Digital transformation has opened up significant opportunities for business operators to enhance their competitiveness and broaden their market reach through the utilization of online sales platforms; however, in Graha Indah Village, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) still face various challenges, such as limited understanding of digital technology, restricted access to digital platforms, and insufficient capacity to implement effective digital marketing strategies, which is why this community empowerment initiative aims to empower MSMEs in Graha Indah Village through education and digital mentoring to enhance their online sales capabilities. The method employed in this activity involves several stages, including identifying the issues faced by MSMEs, conducting intensive training sessions that cover the use of market places, social media and other supporting applications, providing direct mentoring in the application of digital marketing strategies, and evaluating the success of the program based on specific indicators. The results indicate that 85% of the participants have successfully utilized digital platforms to market their products with 60% reporting an increase in sales after applying the strategies taught during the training, and the activity has also succeeded in forming a digital community among MSMEs that facilitates information sharing, collaboration, and future business development. These outcomes demonstrate that a digital empowerment approach can have a significant positive impact on enhancing the capacity of MSMEs at the local level while simultaneously creating a more autonomous and sustainable economic ecosystem, thereby suggesting that this empowerment program could serve as a viable model for supporting digital-based economic transformation in other communities.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) is an initiative by Universitas Balikpapan students to contribute positively to society. The KKN program in Graha Indah Subdistrict, North Balikpapan, focuses on literacy development and the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). One of the primary initiatives, the MSME Literacy Corner, aims to enhance community literacy across multiple aspects, including reading and writing, digital literacy, and business literacy. In the modern digital era, literacy extends beyond basic reading and writing skills to include technological proficiency, information analysis, and digital business strategies. This program seeks to provide MSME actors in Graha Indah with the necessary understanding to develop their businesses more effectively. Beyond MSME support, the Literacy Corner also addresses education and social awareness by fostering reading interest among youth through the establishment of an educational reading corner. Additionally, various social activities were conducted, including community religious gatherings, administrative assistance at the subdistrict office, and participation in local events such as the commemoration of Isra Mi'raj and MSME bazaars. By engaging in these diverse community activities, this program aspires to leave a lasting impact while simultaneously providing valuable practical experiences for students. The KKN MSME Literacy Corner serves as a starting point to cultivate a literacy culture and prioritize knowledge acquisition for both business and personal development.

Abstract

Electricity is a vital enabler for community life in all aspects, making it an ever-present factor in daily activities. This holds true for Muara Badak Village, where the majority of residents work in mining, plantations, and aquaculture. Evidence of this can be seen in the widespread installation of solar panels in community plantation areas, on fish ponds (tambak), and the use of independent generators in homes. However, this widespread installation of electrical equipment isn't always accompanied by an understanding of electrical hazards. This outreach program aims to educate the people of Muara Badak Village on the proper handling of electrical equipment. By doing so, it can reduce the risk of accidents related to electrical work, such as electrocution, fires, and even fatalities. The program also covers the appropriate response to electrical accidents, ensuring the community can manage such situations safely and effectively.

Abstract

Jepara’s woodcarving industry is one of the leading SME sectors that faces significant challenges in the era of Industry 4.0, particularly regarding limited production capacity, manual financial management, and insufficient human resource skills. The partner, Ajining Furniture, still relies on traditional tools, often leading to delays in production and unstructured administrative records. This study aims to enhance productivity and competitiveness through the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the CNC Mach 6090 machine and the development of web- and mobile-based digital applications for financial reporting and invoicing. A participatory approach was employed through stages of socialization, training, mentoring, technology implementation, and evaluation. The results indicate an increase in production capacity from 100 pcs/day to 180 pcs/day, improved carving quality with higher precision, and a significant transformation in financial and administrative management toward more structured and professional practices. Furthermore, the partner gained new knowledge of IoT technology, supporting adaptation to modern industrial demands. Thus, IoT adoption has proven effective in strengthening production capacity, managerial efficiency, and the competitiveness of Jepara’s woodcarving industry.
