Abstract

The New PLN Mobile application developed by PT PLN (Persero) aims to facilitate customers in accessing various electricity services, such as bill payments, purchasing electricity tokens, and submitting electricity service requests. Although widely downloaded, feature adoption and utilization remain suboptimal, especially among Generation Y. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the acceptance of the application, such as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risk, and subjective norm, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. The study also investigates how these factors influence users' attitudes, behavioral intentions, and actual system use of the New PLN Mobile application among Generation Y. A survey was conducted with 150 respondents from Generation Y in Jakarta. The research approach used a quantitative method with data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results of the study indicate that all the factors tested—perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risk, and subjective norm—have a significant effect on users' attitudes and their intention to use the application, which ultimately influences the actual use of the application. These findings are expected to provide deeper insights into the factors that drive technology adoption, especially among Generation Y, and offer practical recommendations for application developers to enhance user engagement. These findings highlight the need for apps that are easy to use, beneficial, secure, and socially supported to improve user engagement and satisfaction. Additionally, strategic targeting of Generation Y with engaging and relevant features, such as gamification and social media integration, can help increase sustainable application use.

Abstract

Although Indonesian Generation Z demonstrates strong commitment to climate change mitigation, their actual green behavior remains limited. This study examines the influence of product attributes on green purchasing behavior, with environmental awareness as a mediating variable. Data were collected from 113 respondents representing Generation Z in Indonesia and analyzed PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 4. Findings indicate that product attributes positively influence environmental awareness, but environmental awareness does not directly or indirectly affect green purchasing decisions. Factors such as green product characteristics, ecological sensitivity, and environmental concern were found to shape sustainable purchasing behaviors among Indonesian Gen Z. Theoretically, this research expands the understanding of green consumption patterns and clarifies the conceptual link between product attributes and environmental awareness in the Indonesian youth context. Practically, the study offers managerial insights and actionable recommendations to encourage green purchasing in this demographic.

Abstract

This study aims to assess and segment graduate student satisfaction in the Master of Management Program at UMB, focusing on academic services and teaching quality, using a data-driven approach through K-Means clustering and Decision Tree classification. The K-Means method successfully identified three distinct satisfaction clusters: Very Satisfied, Satisfied, and Dissatisfied. From an HRD perspective, this segmentation provides strategic insights into how students perceive institutional service delivery—spanning administrative processes, supporting infrastructure, and interaction quality across service units. These insights reflect the internal customer experience, which is critical in managing human capital performance within higher education institutions. The clustering results were further examined using a Decision Tree to identify key attributes driving satisfaction levels. Factors such as clarity in professional certification procedures (K55), responsiveness of certification services (K56), and management service quality (K78) emerged as dominant predictors of satisfaction in the service domain. In the teaching domain, lecturer empathy (K03) and responsiveness (K01) were shown to significantly influence student engagement and academic trust—two core components in HRD models for faculty performance. These findings suggest the need for targeted capacity-building programs, soft skill enhancement, and infrastructure development. By integrating student feedback into ongoing HR practices and quality assurance mechanisms, institutions can foster a more human-centered, responsive, and effective educational environment.

Abstract

This article examines ASEAN’s role in strengthening its centrality in Indo-Pacific economic integration through leadership in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Amid intensifying geopolitical competition and shifting material power in the region, ASEAN seeks to maintain its central role as a regional architect through the principle of “ASEAN Centrality.” The study explores ASEAN's functions as a regional leader, convener, driver, hub, and platform in the negotiation and formation of RCEP, the world’s largest free trade agreement by GDP and population. Employing a qualitative method with a deductive approach, the article applies the analytical framework developed by See Seng Tan (2017) to evaluate ASEAN’s five core roles within regional architecture. Findings reveal ASEAN’s effectiveness in initiating and steering multilateral economic integration, thereby enhancing its institutional relevance and its capacity to align diverse interests of major and middle powers in the region. The study underscores ASEAN’s leadership in fostering inclusive regional cooperation while safeguarding non-interference and consensus-building principles.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to compare the performance of three machine learning algorithms: Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) in predicting student graduation using a quantitative approach and comparative experimental methods. The analysis process follows the CRISP-DM stages, which include business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and implementation. The dataset used consists of approximately 1,251 data points from students of the 2018–2020 cohort with an imbalanced distribution, namely 73.78% graduated on time and 6.22% did not graduate on time. The variables analyzed include academic and non-academic data, such as total credits, GPA per semester, number of repeated courses, and number of leaves. To address the data imbalance, the SMOTE-TOMEK balancing technique was applied. The results of this research indicate that XGBoost showed an improvement in performance after balancing, with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score reaching 1.0000. Gradient Boosting shows consistent performance with a score of 0.9992, both before and after balancing. KNN also experienced an increase in accuracy from 0.9928 to 0.9968 after the balancing process. Findings from the confusion matrix results show a significant improvement in classification. Therefore, the implementation of the SMOTE-TOMEK technique has proven effective in improving the performance of classification models on imbalanced data, and XGBoost is recommended as the main algorithm for predicting student graduation.
