Abstract

The community service activity conducted by Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) in Palembang aims to enhance the quality of education for the youth of the Anak Dalam (SAD) tribe in Muara Tiku Village, Karang Jaya District, Musi Rawas Utara Regency, South Sumatra. In an effort to improve the education of SAD youth, a spiritual approach that integrates local wisdom and local religious teachings is considered an effective solution. This community service program, titled "Spiritual Training Miracle of Happiness," will provide support through the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which encourages active collaboration between researchers and the community in designing, implementing, and evaluating the program. Through this program, it is hoped that the community can actively engage in the learning process, thereby strengthening internal capacities and promoting sustainable development. SAD youth will receive training that encompasses aspects of spirituality, local wisdom, and practical skills relevant to their daily lives. With a holistic and participatory approach, this program is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the educational quality of the Anak Dalam youth in Muara Tiku Village. The outcomes of this service are anticipated to serve as a foundation for the development of more inclusive and sustainable educational programs for marginalized communities in the region. The program is also designed to address the challenges faced by youth in accessing education, such as limited infrastructure, a shortage of teachers, and low motivation to learn. Improving the quality of youth education is a crucial key to advancing society, especially for communities living in remote and marginalized areas like Muara Tiku Village.

Abstract

Assessment is a critical subsystem in the overall learning process. However, teachers still face challenges in developing assessments, particularly those that align with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The results of a needs analysis indicated that teachers at the partner schools require urgent training and guidance in creating both formative and summative assessment instruments. The Community Service Program (PkM) was conducted at SD Negeri Marga Mulya VI, Bekasi City. The PkM activities were based on the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and consisted of six stages. The outcomes of this PkM activity include: (1) the successful implementation of training and assistance in the development of assessment instruments, enabling teachers to understand and create assessment tools; (2) the creation of assessment instruments by teachers, which can now be utilized in the learning process; and (3) positive responses from teachers, who reported that the PkM activities significantly benefited them in preparing and applying assessments in teaching. The outcomes of this PkM initiative can be further followed up through discussions and dissemination within the school's Learning Community to deepen understanding.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce biomass stoves to communities in need, particularly those with abundant biomass waste. The biomass stove's performance has already been evaluated through prior research conducted on campus. This community service initiative will be carried out with the Berkat Rama farmer group in Bibiosi Village, a major corn production area near Cenderawasih University in Arso District, Keerom Regency. Based on preliminary site assessments, local farmers reported significant quantities of agricultural waste, specifically corn cobs, left after harvest. This waste has not been optimally utilized by farmers and is typically disposed of by burning. Motivated by this, our community service team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cenderawasih University aims to introduce corn cob-fueled biomass stoves to the local community. The Community Service Program (PKM) was met with strong enthusiasm from participants, who actively engaged in the socialization session through to its conclusion. The community expressed a desire for more frequent activities of this kind to broaden their knowledge and skills, especially regarding appropriate technology applications. The final outcome of this community service is an increase in both knowledge and skills among members of the Berkat Rama farmer group, specifically in the fabrication and operation of the introduced biomass stoves. They also received training in operational safety for biomass stoves. The acquired knowledge and skills are expected to be applied and shared with other community members and farmers in the area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of technology, human resources, and infrastructure on MSME licensing services at the Gunung Meriah Sub-district Office, as well as the influence of all three simultaneously. The study used 150 respondents whose data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Multiple Linear Regression method. The background of this study is the importance of public services as an interaction between the community and the government to meet the needs of goods, services, or administrative services, as regulated in Law No. 25 of 2009 which states that the purpose of public services is to improve community welfare. However, MSME licensing services at the Gunung Meriah Sub-district Office, Aceh Singkil Regency, still face various obstacles such as long and complicated processes, difficult bureaucracy, lack of understanding of officers, limited facilities, and suboptimal technology. To overcome these obstacles, system improvements, service quality improvements, and more effective socialization are needed. The results of the study indicate that partially technology, human resources, and infrastructure each have a significant influence on MSME licensing services. Simultaneously, the three variables also have a significant effect on MSME licensing services at the Gunung Meriah Sub-district Office.

Abstract

One form of community service is the transfer of technology from universities to community groups. The Puspasari Women's Farmers Group (KWT) has a medicinal plant garden that produces medicinal plants, one of which is rhizomes. One of the shortcomings of drying the rhizomes is the drying process which is still conventional, this causes the quality of the rhizomes to be poor. The purpose of this service is, with the presence of an automatic dryer owned by the agricultural engineering study program of Ibn Khaldun University, it is hoped that there will be an increase in product quality and an increase in the understanding of KWT members regarding drying. After the implementation of the dryer training, training participants were given questionnaires and questions. As a result, the participants stated that the drying results with the automatic drying tool were much better than conventional drying. Participants were able to answer 60% of the questions given regarding basic drying knowledge.
