Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe academic procrastination in completing thesis for Social Sciences Education Study Program students, Jakarta State University class of 2017 – 2018, (2) Describe the factors that cause academic procrastination in completing thesis for Social Science Education Study Program students, Jakarta State University class of 2017 – 2018. This research was conducted in Building K, Social Sciences Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The subjects in this study were 10 respondents. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Student academic procrastination behaviour in the completion of thesis can be seen from several aspects such as perceived time, intention-action gap, emotional distress, and perceived ability. In this study, most students delay in the form of dysfunctional procrastination. (2) Internal factors that encourage students to carry out academic procrastination in completing their thesis are physical conditions and psychological conditions which consist of; intrinsic motivation, self-regulation, self-efficacy, and self-awareness. Then the external factors that encourage students to carry out academic procrastination in completing thesis are parents upbringing, environmental conditions, work, friends, and organization.

Abstract

Abstract Globalization has made the development of Korean culture (Hallyu) more rapid in recent years, coupled with advances in technology, causing the emergence of FoMO (Fear of Missing Out), namely the fear or anxiety of missing an event for Korean fans. This study aims to determine the causes and effects of the FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) phenomenon on students who are Korean fans of the Social Sciences Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects or informants in this study were 10 students using a purposive technique of taking informants with the criteria of Social Sciences Education UNJ students, Korean fans and having moderate to high FoMO scores. To answer the problem formulation, the researcher collected data by distributing pre-research questionnaires, interviews, literature studies, observation and documentation. The results of the study revealed that the cause of FoMO in social studies education students who are Korean fans is the high use of devices and social media. The impact of FoMO on student enthusiasts includes physical impacts; the impact on the psyche; disrupted learning patterns; to finance,. Keyword : FoMO, Fear of Missing Out, Korean Wave, Korean Fans Abstrak Globalisasi membuat perkembangan budaya Korea (Hallyu) semakin pesat beberapa tahun belakang, dengan dibarengi kemajuan teknologi menyebabkan munculnya FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) yakni rasa takut atau cemas tertinggal suatu peristiwa pada penggemar Korea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab dan dampak dari fenomena FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) pada mahasiswa penggemar Korea program studi Pendidikan IPS Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek atau informan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 10 mahasiswa dengan teknik pengambilan informan purposive dengan kriteria mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS FIS UNJ, penggemar Korea dan memiliki skor FoMO sedang hingga tinggi. Untuk menjawab rumusan masalah peneliti melakukan pengumpulan data dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner pra penelitian, wawancara, studi pustaka, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penyebab FoMO pada mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS penggemar Korea adalah penggunaan gawai dan media sosial yang tinggi. Adapun dampak dari FoMO pada mahasiswa penggemar antara lain dampak fisik; dampak pada psikis; pola belajar yang terganggu; hingga keuangan. Abstract

Muhammad Sidik. NGASA TRADITION IN INCREASING COMMUNITY COMMUNITY (Study of the Jalawastu Brebes Cultural Village Community). Essay. Jakarta. Social science education. Faculty of Social Science. State University of Jakarta. 2023. This study aims to determine the meaning and role of the traditional ngasa tradition in increasing the unity of the Jalawastu community in Cisureh village, Keuntungan sub-district, Brebes Regency. The methodology used is qualitative. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, literature study and observation. The method used in data analysis is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Ngasa Tradition by the Jalawastu Cultural Village Community has become a medium for the Jalawastu community and its surroundings in order to increase the harmony that has been formed for a long time. The form of the Ngasa Traditional Tradition by the Jalawastu people has now undergone changes and innovations, but the values ​​and meanings that are maintained by the community have not changed. The Ngasa tradition is still interpreted as an expression of gratitude to God for the crops and asking for blessings for the following year. In this Ngasa Tradition it prohibits the meaning of kinship, mutual cooperation, and cooperation between the Jalawastu people that have existed from the past to the present. Abstract

This study focuses on the use of social inquiry learning models based on the student's sense of nationalism in social studies subjects. The benefit of this research is to see the level of effectiveness of the use of learning models in fostering a sense of nationalism of students in social studies subjects. The theory of effectiveness & meaningful learning are used as the material for this study. The method used is a quasi-experimental research method with a quantitative approach. The location of the research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung. The population in this study was class VIII students. The sample used was for the experimental class, namely VIII–A and the control class VIII–B using purposive sampling technique. In general, the results showed that the application of the social inquiry learning model was effective in fostering a sense of nationalism among students in social studies subjects. In particular, the results showed that there was a significant difference in results between the experimental class and the control class. Thus it can be concluded that the social inquiry learning model is effective in fostering a sense of nationalism in students of social studies subjects

Abstract

Self-regulated learning (SRL) plays a pivotal role in fostering independent and lifelong learners. It empowers students to take control of their learning processes, enabling them to set goals, monitor their progress, and adapt strategies accordingly. Ubiquitous learning (U-Learning), on the other hand, emphasizes the seamless integration of learning experiences into everyday life through the pervasive presence of technology. This study aims to improve self-regulated learning and increase the learning independence of Universitas Negeri Jakarta students through ubiquitous learning based on the LMS Moodle. This study used a quantitative descriptive method, with the research subjects being 40 students of the social studies education program at Jakarta State University. In addition, Moodle is a powerful tool for implementing ubiquitous learning and improving self-regulated learning practices. By capitalizing on the platform's features and leveraging its potential, educators can create dynamic learning environments that empower students to take ownership of their learning journey. Future research and implementation studies should focus on exploring the effectiveness of Moodle-based ubiquitous learning strategies in diverse educational contexts to further enhance self-regulated learning outcomes.

Abstract

Aisah Indriani, The Effects of Conformity on Thrift Shopping Purchase Decisions Among Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. Thesis. Jakarta: Social Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, 2023. This study aims to determine the effects of conformity on thrift shopping purchase decisions among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. This research uses a quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted with the condition that the respondents are thrift shopping consumers and active students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. The sample obtained was 95 students out of a population of 125 students. Based on the t-test results, the calculated t-value of 4.928 is greater than the t-table value of 1.989, which means there is an influence of conformity on thrift shopping purchase decisions among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, with a low level of influence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh media pembelajaran Sociology Spin Card terhadap peningkatan kompetensi bernalar kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran sosiologi materi metode penelitian sosial. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas X-3 dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 36 peserta didik yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini. Proses pembelajaran yang efektif, menyenangkan, dan bermakna bagi peserta didik salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh media pembelajaran yang menarik dan mendorong peserta didik untuk belajar. Media pembelajaran Sosiology Spin Card digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kompetensi bernalar kritis peserta didik pada materi penelitian sosial dalam ruang kolaborasi pembelajaran di kelas. Indikator bernalar kritis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, kemampuan memperoleh dan memproses informasi dan gagasan, kemampuan menganalisis dan mengevaluasi penalaran, serta kemampuan merefleksi dan mengevaluasi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berkaitan dengan instrument yang digunakan menggunakan observasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasilnya adalah implementasi media pembelajaran Sosiology Spin Card dapat meningkatkan bernalar kritis peserta didik dengan persentase peningkatan kegiatan aktivitas guru sebesar 30%, aktivitas peserta didik meningkat 30,9% dan bernalar kritis peserta didik meningkat 30,5%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya menjaga lingkungan dan memiliki sikap kepedulian terhadap lingkungan alam yang rusak serta makhluk hidup lain yang terancam kehidupannya akibat dari aktivitas manusia. Perilaku kepedulian peserta didik terhadap lingkungan di kelas IX-B tergolong dalam kategori rendah, hal tersebut dilihat dari permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu banyaknya sampah disekitar kelas baik itu di dalam ruangan maupun di luar kelas. Oleh karena itu peserta didik perlu meningkatkan kecerdasan ekologis terutama pada aspek pengetahuan, keterampilan dan partisipasi peserta didik terhadap lingkungan. Pembuatan konten kreatif mengenai kearifan ekologis masyarakat kampung adat Ciptarasa merupakan salah satu upaya untuk membangun kecerdasan ekologis peserta didik. Kajian utama penelitian ini adalah identifikasi nilai-nilai kearifan ekologis masyarakat kampung adat Ciptarasa, hasil identifikasi dibuatkan konten berupa video yang di upload ke media sosial youtube sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 1 Pabuaran kelas IX-B. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa masyarakat kampung adat Ciptarasa memiliki kearifan ekologis yang dapat dijadikan konten kreatif youtube sebagai media belajar IPS meliputi nilai pelestarian hutan, nilai pelestarian sungai, mitigasi bencana, dan pola konsumsi ramah lingkungan. Implementasi penggunaan konten kreatif youtube tentang kearifan ekologis masyarakat kampung adat Ciptarasa dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 1 Pabuaran menunjukkan hasil yang bagus. Peserta didik memiliki rasa peduli terhadap lingkungan dan alam dan berempati terhadap mahluk hidup dan alam. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan supaya dijadikan rujukan bagi pengembangan pembelajaran IPS yang menggunakan konten kreatif youtube berbasis budaya diberbagai sekolah.

Abstract

Kompleksitas permasalahan yang dihadapi perempuan adat pendatang di Kasepuhan Anyar pasca mereka memutuskan diri untuk menjadi bagian dari warga adat, terutama dalam pengelolaan sistem budaya padi tidak lepas dari rangkaian relasi di dalamnya (relasi gender, relasi kuasa, relasi sosial, dan relasi budaya). Dengan demikian tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menelusuri pengalaman para perempuan adat pendatang dalam membangun makna terkait sistem budaya padi yang tidak lepas dari beragam relasi (gender, sosial, budaya, kuasa), melalui pendekatan interaksionisme simbolik. Permasalahan yang diangkat adalah: Bagaimana perempuan adat pendatang membangun pengetahuan dalam memaknai sistem budaya padi? Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada masyarakat adat Kesatuan Banten Kidul, tepatnya di Kasepuhan Anyar yang berada di Kabupaten Sukabumi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif perspektif feminis, dengan tipe fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, observasi partisipan, studi data sekunder, dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dilakukan sejak penelitian lapangan berlangsung, data yang telah diperoleh kemudian ditranskrip, coding, dan analisis menggunakan teori yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan pemaknaan yang dilakukan oleh perempuan adat pendatang tidak lepas dari proses interaksi yang mereka lakukan atas sistem sosial budaya yang berlaku dan berkelindan dengan seperangkat aturan, symbol, juga berlakunya sistem kabendon dalam kehidupan baru mereka sebagai warga adat.

Abstract

Marriage has a deep meaning in the Samin community, a Javanese ethnic group in Blora Regency, Central Java. This study uses an ethnographic approach to understand the meaning and identity of marriage in Sami culture. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with community leaders, family members, and direct observation. The results of the study show that marriage in the Samin community is a social bond that involves two families, not just two individuals. Marriage ceremonies strengthen bonds between generations and maintain harmony within social groups. Marriage is also closely related to the concepts of religion and spirituality. Traditional wedding rituals and ceremonies, such as the marriage procedure for the Samin indigenous people, are carried out through the stages of nakokke, mbalesi gunem, ngendek, nyuwito, ngenger, paseksen, and tingkepan, which are passed down from generation to generation and become an integral part of the marriage procession. The role of traditional and religious leaders is central to formalising marriages. Overall, the meaning of marriage in the Samin community reflects the rich culture and spirituality that are deeply rooted in their lives. Marriage is one of the foundations for maintaining their cultural identity and determining the direction of social life in the future.
