Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting business performance and competitive advantages in modern retail stores in Makassar City. The purposive sampling method was used by selecting 100 respondents who privately own a modern retail store for more than 5 years. Data were analyzed using path analysis in SPSS 21 Programs. The results found that competitive advantages had a positive and significant effect on variable market orientation, marketplace innovation, and entrepreneurial orientation factors in modern retail stores in Makassar City. Market orientation and entrepreneurial orientation are also found to impact business performance. In this study, competitive advantage can mediate the effect of market orientation and market place innovation on business performance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial motivation on the performance of packaged food MSME actors through the innovative products in Mamuju Regency. This research was conducted using quantitative data, while the data collection techniques were observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The sampling technique used in this study was sampling with a saturated sampling method where the researcher used all members of the population totaling 70 business actors. Data testing is done by using validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial motivation had a positive and significant effect on innovative products. Entrepreneurial competence, entrepreneurial motivation, and innovation products had a positive and significant effect on the performance of packaged food MSME. Entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial motivation through innovation products have an indirect effect on the performance of packaged food MSME actors in Mamuju Regency.

Abstract

Organizational effectiveness is the level of organizational success in an effort to achieve its goals and objectives. This study aims to analyze the direct influence of organizational culture and strategy on organizational effectiveness and indirect influence mediated by knowledge management at PT PLN (Persero) UPT Makassar. This research is a quantitative research using data collection method through questionnaires continued by data analysis method using PLS analysis. The results of this study found that first, the organizational culture and strategy have a positive and significant effect on knowledge management and organizational effectiveness. Second, knowledge management has a positive and significant effect on organizational effectiveness. The last is knowledge management can partially mediate between organizational culture and strategy on organizational effectiveness at PT. PLN (Persero) UPT in Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the influence of the additional employee income and the work environment on the performance of civil servants through work motivation in the Regional Secretariat of Gowa District. Data collection is carried out by civil servants assigned in the Secretariat Office of Gowa District. Of 127 population, as many as 96 respondents are taken using the Slovin technique. On the basis of findings, the results showed that the additional employee income and the work environment have a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Further, the additional employee income and the work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Interestingly, work motivation is unable to mediate the relationship between additional employee income and employee performance. However, the work motivation can mediate the relationship between the work environment and the employee performance at the Gowa District Secretariat Office.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of financial compensation and work pressure on the performance of employees through job satisfaction in DGT Regional office of South, West and South-East Sulawesi. Data was collected by a survey method, using questionnaire instruments created by Google Form platform and distributed to all civil servants of DGT Regional office of South, West and South-East Sulawesi and are grouped into five clusters. Of the 1,701 employee population, there were 352 employees who responded. Data is then analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of the SPSS AMOS application. The results showed that financial compensation and work pressure have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Interestingly, both variables, financial compensation and work pressure, did not show a significant effect on employees’ performance. Job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on employees’ performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the municipal tax revenues and their contribution towards original local government revenue in Sidenreng Rappang district. The study applied the descriptive quantitative method. The data obtained from the municipal tax revenues district and the budget realization report of Sidenreng Rappang district from the period between 2014 and 2019. This research uses the method of effectiveness and efficiency ratio to calculate local tax, local tax realization, local tax fees, local tax target, and local tax contribution. The result in this research indicates that local tax revenues in Sidenreng Rappang district during the period of 2014 are already effective. The annual local tax revenues are very effective. Interestingly, the contribution of local taxes towards original local government revenue in Sidenreng Rappang district is found still very low.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership on employee performance through work motivation and job satisfaction at the Secretariat of the Takalar Region Representative Council. Data collection was carried out at the Secretariat of the Takalar Region Representative Council. The study applies saturated samples so that the number of samples was 49 respondents. Data were analyzed using the path analysis method. The results showed that leadership has a positive and significant effect on work motivation and job satisfaction, but an insignificant effect on employee performance. Work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Leadership through both work motivation and job satisfaction show a significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the linking of the competitive strategy on the operational unit performance through the innovation at PT. Semen Tonasa. The data collected using a survey method using the Google Form application and distributed to 117 employees of operational unit heads at PT Semen Tonasa consisting of echelon 3 and 4 employees. The data were then analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the IBM SPSS AMOS application version 22. On the basis of the findings, the study indicated that the competitive strategy and innovation significantly and positively affect the performance. The relationship between the competitive strategy and the innovation also showing a significant and positive relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of recruitment and interpersonal communication on employee performance using work motivation as a moderating variable at Energy Equity Epic Pty Sengkang, in Wajo Regency. Of 105 employees In the company, the study distributed questionnaires to 81 permanent employees that have been working for more than three years in the company. To analyze the collected data, the study applied quantitative research using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the help of SmartPLS software. On the basis of the study, The results showed that interpersonal communication significantly affects employee performance with a positive sign. Interestingly, the relationship between recruitment and employee performance shows a positive sign, but insignificant. With regard to moderating a variable, the study found that work motivation cannot mediate both relationships, recruitment, and interpersonal communication, to employee performance.

Abstract

The research objective was to examine the application of the quality management system ISO 9001, and its supporting and inhibiting factors to leverage the employee performance at PT Tirta Sukses Perkasa. The paper applied a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach. Data obtained using observation and interviews from 3 informants. On the basis of the findings, the study found that the implementation of the 9001 quality management system to leverage employee performance refers to ISO 9001: 2008. The implementation follows several steps comprising of making company commitments, making company quality goals, forming an ISO team, making GAB assessment, making company policies, conducting ISO training, document preparation, quality management system implementation, internal quality audit training, management review, and external certification audit from ISO 9001 certification agency. The study found that the supporting factors for implementing the ISO 9001 management system are management commitment, facilities and infrastructure, effective communication, and availability of funds. Interestingly, there were several inhibiting factors that were work culture, understanding of the concept of the ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System, and time constraints.
