Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce science teaching materials based guided discovery for training science process skills. This study adapted to 4D (four D models) that consists define, design, develop, and disseminate, but the stage is done only to develop stage. Teaching materials include syllabus, RPP, worksheets, student books, and science process skill test. This research tested at SMPN 5 Pamekasan. Feasibility of teaching material from the aspect of validity, practicality and effectiveness. Descriptive data were analyzed quantitatively. The validity results showed that teaching material is very valid. Practicality of teaching material show with the value of implementation learning process is excellent category and is supported by the activity of science process skills that have been shown in the study. The effectiveness of the teaching materials obtained from the increase pretest to posttest results of students science process skills with high category N Gain score and as much as 98% of students responded positively to learning guided discovery model. Based on the results, we can conclude that teaching materials based guided discovery that has been developed has been qualified validity, practicality, and effectiveness so that it can be used to train science process skills.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to produce an intervention which is valid, practical, and effective. This intervention design research is conducted through model 4-D that limited to three phases, that is define, design, and develop. Those intervention is tried out at eight class on SMPN 30 Surabaya in academic year 2014/2015 with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using observation method, tests, and questionnaires. Data are analyzed using descriptive analysis quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that 1) the intervention are valid categorized; 2) the implementation result of lesson plan until 99%, and the student activity show that the intervention is practice categorized to train scientific process skills, 3) students positively respond toward intervention, and the increasing of scientific process skills show that the intervention is effective to train scientific process skills. It can be concluded that the intervention design is valid, practice and effective to train students scientific process skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian desain bahan ajar ini menggunakan model 4-D (Four-D Model) yang dibatasi pada tiga tahapan, yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), dan pengembangan (develop). Hasil desain bahan ajar diujicobakan pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 30 Surabaya semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) bahan ajar yang dikembangkan valid untuk melatih keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP; 2) Keterlaksanaan RPP yang mencapai 99% dan aktivitas belajar siswa menunjukkan behan ajar yang didesain terkategori praktis dalam melatih keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP; dan 3) Respon positif siswa terhadap bahan ajar, dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains menunjukkan bahan ajar yang didesain efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar yang didesain valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP kelas VIII.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the validity and effectiveness of physics learning package based on Guided Inquiry. This research uses development method with Plomp and Nieven research design. Physics learning package that have been developed and then validated by three expert validators from UNESA. Validated sections include Syllabus, RPP Scenario, Student Book, and Student Worksheet.The result of validated, the first is Syllabus that has a high validity with 3.79 average score. Second, the validity score of RPP Scenario is 3.71 with high valid category. Third, the Student Book has a validity score of 3.47 with valid category. Last, Student Worksheet has validity of 3.71 with high validity category. The result of effectiveness can be seen before and after using learning instrument that developed. Before using the developed learning instrument, the student's Science Process Skills score averaged 29.2, while after using the developed instrument, the student's Science Process Skills score was 85.7. Based on the results of the validity and effectiveness of the instrument shows that the instructional instrument of physics based on Guided Inquiry is very suitable to be used in learning to improve student?s Science Process Skills

Abstract

Creative thinking required to be facilitated to students in order they are ready to face the challenge in the future which will be more complicated. The student need to motivated to think divergently, including aspects of originality (authentic, uniqueness idea), fluency (continuity of expressing idea), flexibility (capability to expressing different idea), and elaboration (giving explanation toward created idea). This research aimed to develop integrated science learning materials with scientific approach which feseable to facilitate creative thinking skill of grad VII junior high school. This research is development research, that is developing integrated science learning materials with subject Global Warming including (Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Student Work Sheet, Student Text Book, and creative thinking capability test), by using 4D development model. Target of this research is learning instrument which tested on 35 graders VII junior high school with plan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis using descriptive qualitative resulting: (a) validation of learning instrument with category valid and very valid; (b) learning realization with good category; (c) positive student response; (d) student creative thinking capability is trained (posttest score 71 which meant creative with N-Gain 0.78). The indicators of creative thinking skill wich get the most significant increase are fluency and flexibility. Elaboration and originality are indicators which have a low increasing score between the pre test and post test. It?s because the student mostly are not able to connect their own concept to make the idea clearer and they only focus on the ideas in the book, therefore almost all of their ideas are just the same. The conclusion of this research is that the integrated science learning instrument with subject of Global Warming is proper to be used to facilitate creative thinking skill. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif perlu dilatihkan kepada siswa agar mereka siap menghadapi tantangan pada masa mendatang yang semakin sulit. Siswa perlu didorong untuk berpikir divergen, yang mencakup aspek originality (keaslian, keunikan ide), fluency (kelancaran dalam mengungkapkan ide), flexibility (kemampuan mengungkapkan ide yang berbeda), dan elaboration (pemberian detail dan penjelasan pada ide yang dibuat). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terintegrasi dengan pendekatan saintifik yang layak untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan, yakni mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terintegrasi materi Pemanasan Global meliputi (silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), Buku ajar Siswa (BAS), serta tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif), dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D. Sasaran penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang diuji cobakan pada 35 siswa SMP kelas VII dengan rancangan One-Group Pre test-Post test Design. Analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan hasil: (a) Validasi perangkat pembelajaran dengan kategori valid dan sangat valid; (b) Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan kategori baik; (c) Respon siswa positif; (d) Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa secara umum terlatih (skor post test 71 yang berarti siswa mencapai kriteria kreatif dengan N-gain 0,78). Indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang mengalami peningkatan paling signifikan antara pre test dan post test adalah aspek kelancaran (fluency) dan fleksibilitas (flexibility). Indikator elaborasi (elaboration) dan keaslian (originality) merupakan indikator yang memiliki peningkatan rendah antara pre test dan pos test, karena masih banyak siswa yang belum bisa menghubungkan konsep yang mereka miliki untuk memperjelas ide dan siswa terpaku oleh beberapa hal yang dijelaskan di buku siswa mengenai cara mengatasi permasalahan dalam materi pemanasan global, sehingga ide mereka banyak yang sama. Simpulan penelitian ini, bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA terintegrasi materi Pemanasan Global layak digunakan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce learning material and educational game that feasible to improve student?s motivation and learning achievement. The development of learning material and educational game used Four D Model and was tested in class XI of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo second semester in academic year 2013/2014 with One-group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection used validation method, observation, test, and quetionnaires. The data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis of quantitative, qualitative, and correlative hypothesis test. The results of this research are: 1) Learning material and educational game developed has a valid category; 2) Learning material and educational game in terms of feasibility of lesson plans with good category.3) Student?s activities in accordance with the direct instruction model with the highest activities are learning by educational game, doing student activity sheet, and listening to the teacher explanation. 4) 91.67 percent of students are getting completeness and the n-gain score with high category. 5) Student?s motivation with high category. 6) The correlation of student?s learning achievement and motivation level is significant and showed a moderate positive correlation. It?s conclusion that the learning material and educational game are feasible to improve student?s motivation and learning achievement. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran dan media game edukasi yang layak untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Pengembangan perangkat dan media game edukasi menggunakan model Four-D dan diujicobakan di kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, kualitatif dan uji hipotesis korelatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran dan media game edukasi yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Perangkat pembelajaran dan media game edukasi ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik; 3) Aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan model pembelajaran langsung dengan aktivitas tertinggi yaitu: mengoperasikan game edukasi, mengerjakan LKS, dan memperhatikan penjelasan guru; 4) 91.67% siswa tuntas dalam pembelajaran dengan N-gain berkategori tinggi; 5) Motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran berkategori baik; 6) Korelasi antara motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa adalah signifikan dengan kekuatan korelasi yang cukup kuat. Disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran dan media game edukasi yang dikembangkan adalah layak dan dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi sebuah teori baru mengenai ilmu pengetahuan dasar sains berdasarkan kearifan lokal di Karimunjawa sebagai wahana untuk mengembangkan soft skill konservasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pengaturan masyarakat dan lingkungan di Kepulauan Karimun. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari nelayan, pemandu wisata, serta pemilik homestay. Pengambilan data melalui wawancara, observasi langsung, dan kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh dan diverifikasi, dikurangi, dan konseptualisasi. Fokus penelitian adalah pesan moral konservasi yang ditempatkan di papan buletin di Taman Nasional Karimunjawa; Hutan Manggrove, pantai Karimunjawa. Dalam penelitian ini juga terungkap jenis-jenis flora dan fauna pribumi, serta soft skill dan kebiasaan masyarakat Publikasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa nilai soft skill seperti komunitas karimunjawa sedang bekerja keras, tekun, gotong royong. Religius, ramah, peduli dan peduli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelestarian pesan moral yang dimuat di papan buletin di Taman Nasional Karimunjawa adalah konservasi penyu, ikan laut, kehidupan laut, dan berbagai hasil terumbu karang Karimunjawa juga menemukan bahwa pengetahuan lokal masih terjaga di Komunitas tanaman dewandaru, Setigi, kalimosodho, soft skill dan cinta bangsa, peduli lingkungan, religous, ramah, kerja keras, dan demokratis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is produce physics instructional materials based-on guided discovery model using simple equipment with criteria:  valid, practical, and effective to reduce Senior High School students? misconceptions in static fluid. The development of instructional materials used four-D model and tested to three class are class X-2, class X-3, and class X-4 and involved 90 students at SMAN 19 Surabaya, second semester in academic year 2013/2014 with one group pretest ? posttest design. The data collected include data instructional materials validation, data implementation of learning, data learning outcome, student?s activity data, student?s responses data, and data of documentations. The data analysis techniques used are: 1) quantitative descriptive analysis among others: completeness indicator, learning outcome, and reduction misconceptions. 2) analysis CRI among others: intensity misconceptions and reduction potential misconceptions. 3) analysis statistic parametric among others: normality test, homogeneity test, and paired t-test. The results of this research are: 1) the validity of instructional materials to develop is invalid category; 2) the instructional materials practicality in terms of: textbook students and exercise book students; the instructional materials in terms of a very good category; 3) the instructional material effectiveness in terms of: (a) mastery learning of classical 100%; (b) reduction misconception the same as lowering misconception, the average result of students misconceptions reduction were  class X-2 average 59,92%, class X-3 average 24,52%, class X-4 average 32,50%; and (c) the students? responses to instructional materials are very positive. It?s conclusion that the instructional materials through guided discovery learning model using simple equipment are valid, practical, and effective so worthy to reduce Senior High School Students misconceptions in static fluid materials. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model guided discovery learning dengan menggunakan alat sederhana yang memenuhi kriteria: valid, praktis, dan efektif sehingga layak untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi siswa SMA pada materi fluida statis. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan four-D model dan diujicobakan pada tiga kelas yaitu kelas X-2, kelas X-3, dan kelas X-4 dengan jumlah siswa seluruhnya sebanyak 90 siswa di SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dalam bentuk one group pretest?posttest design. Data-data yang dikumpulkan berupa data validasi perangkat pembelajaran, data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, data hasil belajar, data aktivitas siswa, data respons siswa, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan antara lain: 1) analisis deskriptif kualitatif meliputi: ketuntasan indikator, hasil belajar, penurunan miskonsepsi. 2) analisis CRI meliputi: intensitas miskonsepsi dan penurunan potensi miskonsepsi. 3) analisis statistik parametrik meliputi: uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: keterbacaan BAS dan LKS berkategori tinggi, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkategori baik; 3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) ketuntasan klasikal semua kelas mencapai 100%; (b) reduksi miskonsepsi merujuk pada penurunan miskonsepsi yang dialami oleh rata-rata siswa kelas X-2 mencapai 59,29%, kelas X-3 mencapai 24,52%, kelas X-4 mencapai 32,50%;  dan (c) respons siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran sangat positif.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika model guided discovery learning menggunakan alat sederhana yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan sehingga layak digunakan untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi siswa SMA pada materi fluida statis.

Abstract

Keterampilan proses sains termasuk pondasi dasar dalam mempelajari fisika, namun peserta didik masih kurang dilatihkan di sekolah. Makalah ini ingin mendeskripsikan kelayakan Creative Responsibility Based Learning (CRBL) dalam memaksimalkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Perangkat CRBL yang sudah valid, kemudian diujicobakan kepada 34 peserta didik kelas XI MIA 3 SMA Negeri 9 Banjarmasin. Pengumpulan data melalui instrumen pengamatan keterlaksanaan CRBL meliputi: membangkitkan tanggung jawab kreatif, mengorganisasikan kebutuhan belajar kreatif, membimbing investigasi kelompok, aktualisasi tanggung jawab kreatif, evaluasi dan refleksi; serta pengamatan keterampilan proses sains meliputi: merumuskan masalah, merumuskan hipotesis, mengidentifikasi variabel, mendefinisi operasional variabel, melakukan percobaan, menganalis data, dan menarik simpulan. Pada setiap pertemuan, pendidik mampu melaksanakan fase-fase CRBL dengan baik. Selain itu, peserta didik mampu menggunakan keterampilan proses sains dengan sangat baik. Dengan demikian, CRBL termasuk layak untuk memaksimalkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Abstract

This research aims to describe practicality and effectiveness of the integrated science learning through project-based learning in fasilitate academic and social Skill of class VIIF SMP Muhammadiyah 12 GKB Gresik. This research uses one group prettest-posttest design proceded by preparatory phase which aims to develop the material planning of the 4-D models of Thiagarajan and followed by  implementation phase in the classroom. The results showed:1) the practicality of teaching material categorized in feasibility of lesson plan and students give positive responses toward teaching materials and implementation of project based learning, 2) the teaching and learning use the teaching material development categorized effectively in terms of : (a) an assessment of the student's academic skills in organizing materials, skills to plan, implement and report on project task and psychomotor student in the laboratory showed very good (b) assessment of social skills of students in collaboration and communication showed very good and (c) increased knowledge learning outcomes of students with an average of 0.8 N-gain (high gain). Based on the result, it can be concluded that project based learning in teaching integrated natural science for Junior High Students is practicable and effectively to fasilitate student?s academic and social skill and gaining their knowledge. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepraktisan dan keefektifan pembelajaran IPA terpadu melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam melatihkan keterampilan akademik dan sosial siswa kelas VIIF SMP Muhammadiyah 12 GKB Gresik. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest -posttest  design yang di dahului dengan tahap persiapan yang bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat mengikuti rancangan 4-D model dari Thiagarajan dan dilanjutkan dengan tahap uji coba di kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) perangkat pembelajaran berkategori praktis ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan rencana pembelajaran dan respon positif siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek; 2) Pembelajaran menggunakan perangkat yang dikembangkan berkategori efektif, hal ini didasarkan pada: (a) penilaian keterampilan akademik siswa dalam mengorganisir materi, keterampilan merencanakan, melaksanakan dan melaporkan penugasan proyek, keterampilan unjuk kerja laboratorium menunjukkan sangat baik (b) penilaian keterampilan sosial siswa dalam bekerjasama dan berkomunikasi menunjukkan sangat baik (c) peningkatan hasil belajar pengetahuan siswa dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,8 (gain tinggi). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek praktis dan efektif dalam melatihkan keterampilan akademik dan sosial siswa SMP serta meningkatkan hasil belajar pengetahuan pada mata pelajaran IPA Terpadu.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students scientific process and aspects of knowledge, as well as to know activity and the response of the students through the application of science learning assisted PhET Simulation Program to 30 students of eight grades in junior high school. This research was experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative results: (a) Students science process skills are increase with an average value post test results of 80 (N-gain; 0.71 with high criteria); (b) Students aspects of knowledge are increase with an average value post test results of 80 (N-gain; 0.74 with high criteria); (c) Frequency of activities that do experiment/ observation that by 18.3 percent while activities that students do at least is behavior that is not relevant to KBM by 3%; (d) The students positive response to learning process (83% with very strong criteria). Conclusion of this research that application of science learning assisted PhET simulation program can improve students process skills and aspects of knowledge.
