Abstract

The machining industry, particularly lathe workshops, plays a vital role in supporting the manufacturing and machinery repair sectors in Jayapura City. However, many small-scale workshops still rely on conventional cutting tools due to limited knowledge and access to modern tool technologies such as insert cutting tools. Insert tools offer several advantages, including ease of insert replacement, longer tool life, and more precise and efficient cutting results. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and technical skills of lathe workshop operators in Jayapura City through outreach and training on the use of insert cutting tools. Many local workshops still use conventional tools, which have limitations in terms of efficiency and cutting quality. Therefore, this program is designed to introduce modern, economical, and practical insert tooling technology. The method used involves an educational-participatory approach through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and interactive discussions. The program encourages active participation to ensure that knowledge of insert tool usage can be effectively applied in workshop operations. The results of the program show a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, with an average post-test score increase of 35% compared to the pre-test. Participants also expressed strong interest in adopting insert tools for their production processes. During the hands-on session, they were able to correctly operate and replace the insert tools. The discussions were lively, indicating high enthusiasm for the topics presented. Overall, this activity has had a positive impact on enhancing the technical capacity of small and medium-sized lathe workshops in Jayapura City.

Abstract

The urgency of this community service activity is the need for efforts to improve the economy of partners, one of which is by providing skills to partners to carry out freshwater lobster (LAT) cultivation activities that have a high selling price. LAT cultivation was chosen as one of the strategies to improve the economy of partners because in addition to the high selling price, LAT is also easy to cultivate and does not require a large area of ​​land, so the community service team is sure that partners are able to carry out this LAT cultivation activity. The purpose of this activity is to provide skills to partners about LAT cultivation using gutters arranged like apartments so that the results of this LAT production can increase partner income. This community service activity is carried out in two stages, namely a pre-survey which aims to find out partner problems and discuss solutions and the implementation stage, namely socialization of LAT cultivation and training in assembling solitary system maintenance media using gutters. Based on the community service activities carried out in Muka Sungai Kuruk village, Aceh Tamiang, the participants were very enthusiastic about all the programs implemented by the team. In addition, partners also hope that there will be a continuation of this activity, namely training on LAT seeding.

Abstract

Infectious diseases remain a major public health concern due to their high morbidity and mortality rates, including conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes mellitus. Cardiovascular disease and diabetes are strongly associated with central obesity, dyslipidemia, elevated fasting blood glucose, and hypertension. Metabolic syndrome is defined as a constellation of complex metabolic abnormalities that significantly increases the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes mellitus. The key components implicated in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome include hypertension, central obesity, insulin resistance, and atherogenic dyslipidemia. This study aimed to educate the community about metabolic syndrome while simultaneously conducting early detection. The screening procedures included measurements of blood pressure, waist circumference, blood glucose levels, the measurement of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels was performed using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. A total of 52 respondents participated in this activity, consisting of 57.7% (n=30) females and 42.3% (n=22) males. The results indicated that 92.3% (n=48) had normal blood glucose levels, 100% (n=52) had normal total cholesterol, and 21.2% (n=11) had normal LDL levels. Normal blood pressure was observed in 34.6% (n=18), while 67.3% (n=35) were found to have central obesity. Overall, 9.6% (n=5) of respondents were diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, whereas 90.4% (n=47) were not. Most respondents demonstrated metabolic risk factors such as hypertension, central obesity, and elevated LDL levels, despite having normal blood glucose and total cholesterol. These findings underscore the importance of continuous public health education and targeted interventions to prevent and reduce the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in the community.

Abstract

During the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday period, Madiun Station experiences a substantial increase in passenger volume compared to regular operational days. This circumstance necessitates enhancements in service quality to align with customer expectations. Through a SERVQUAL-based evaluation, this initiative seeks to identify service gaps and develop targeted improvements. These efforts are intended to reinforce public trust in the quality and reliability of railway transportation services. This study aims to evaluate customer satisfaction at Madiun Railway Station during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday period, a time of significantly increased passenger volume. Using the SERVQUAL method, five key service quality dimensions Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy were assessed to measure the gap between customer expectations and perceptions. A total of 240 respondents participated in the survey. The results revealed a positive gap in all dimensions, indicating that customer expectations exceeded the services received. The largest gap was found in the Empathy dimension (0.184), followed by Tangibles (0.139), suggesting an urgent need for improvements in personal interaction and physical facilities. A paired t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference between expectations and perceptions (p-value = 0.00018). Based on the findings, it is recommended that station management improve staff training on empathetic service, modernize physical infrastructure, and utilize digital tools to enhance customer experience. This research provides practical insights for enhancing service quality and contributes to the ongoing development of public transportation service standards in Indonesia.

Abstract

Anemia is a serious health issue among adolescent girls, with one of the main causes being the low intake of iron supplements (Tablet Tambah Darah/TTD). In South Kalimantan, the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls reaches 53.3%, yet TTD consumption coverage remains low. In Sungai Tabuk Keramat Village, 56.7% of adolescent girls had not received TTD in the past year. This community service program aimed to increase knowledge and compliance with TTD intake through the establishment of peer educators. Activities included health education, training on the use of hemoglobin (Hb) measuring devices, peer educator development, and 2.5 months of monitoring. The results showed that 92% of participants improved their knowledge of Hb device usage, and 92% of those re-tested achieved normal Hb levels. Monitoring of TTD consumption recorded that 31.6% of adolescents adhered to recommended intake in August, but this declined to 15.8% in September. This program proved effective in enhancing knowledge and hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls and demonstrated that peer educators can serve as effective educational agents. However, maintaining long-term adherence to TTD intake remains a challenge. Therefore, continuous support, increased involvement of families and health cadres, and strengthened monitoring systems are essential to sustain the program’s impact and contribute significantly to anemia prevention among adolescent girls.

Abstract

Farmers in Kahingai Village still raise goats traditionally, although they have begun to apply several principles of intensive management. One of the main problems faced by goat farmers is the availability of feed, especially during the dry season. Farmers have difficulty obtaining sufficient and quality feed so that livestock are only given makeshift feed. To overcome this, it is necessary to apply feed technology (silage) as an effort to ensure the availability of feed, especially during the dry season. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the understanding and skills of farmers in raising livestock. In addition, it is also expected that there will be an increase in livestock production by utilizing local feed resources. The methods of activities carried out include socialization, counseling and training. The socialization of the program begins with holding meetings with the community/farmers to schedule activities and materials to be implemented, then counseling is carried out through lectures and discussions and participatory methods, namely involving farmers directly in feed processing training. The result of this activity is that farmers in Kahingai Village have succeeded in making good quality silage. The characteristics of the silage produced are brownish green, free of mold, do not clump and have a distinctive fermentation aroma. The success of making silage indicates that the fermentation process is running optimally. Success also shows that the training provided can be absorbed and has the potential to be applied for sustainability at the farmer level. In addition, the enthusiasm of farmers during the activity shows that farmers are interested in adopting the feed technology that has been introduced. Community service activities in Kahingai Village increase farmers' knowledge regarding good and correct maintenance management. Community service activities can also increase farmers' understanding in making silage.

Abstract

The advancement of technology requires the education sector to continuously adapt, including MI Nurul Hidayah in Bojonegoro. The school still faces challenges such as low reading interest and limited access to digital learning media. These issues affect the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. A technology-based literacy movement serves as a solution to enhance teachers’ and students’ competencies in utilizing digital media effectively. This Pelatihanaims to integrate technology into the learning process to improve digital literacy. The transformation is expected to foster a more inclusive literacy culture in the school environment. The implementation methods include teacher training on digital media use and instructional material development. The Pelatihanalso involves student mentoring and the introduction of various digital platforms such as reading apps and e-learning tools. All activities were carried out gradually and systematically. The results show a significant increase in students' reading interest, with 85% actively using the introduced digital library. Teachers improved their skills in designing technology-based instructional materials, utilizing educational applications and e-learning platforms. In addition, parental involvement in supporting children's literacy increased through socialization efforts. The learning environment became more interactive and engaging. Overall, the Pelatihansuccessfully fostered collaboration among teachers, students, and parents in building a sustainable digital literacy culture. It strengthened digital literacy and expanded access to interactive and continuous learning for MI Nurul Hidayah.

Abstract

Deteksi dini kesehatan mental sangat dibutuhkan dewasa dan remaja, seseorang yang mempunyai kesehatan mental yang baik sadar akan potensi dirinya, dapat mengatasi permasalahan hidup, dapat bekerja dengan optimal, produktif, dan dapat berkontribusi di lingkungan tempat tinggalnya merupakan individu yang memiliki sehat mental. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah melakukan peningkatan pengetahuan sehat mental berupa pertolongan pertama bagi siswa Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar 27. Salah satu cara untuk menciptakan kondisi mendukung kesehatan mental maka dilakukanlah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk melakukan skrining kesehatan mental kemudian melaksanakan pertolongan pertama untuk siswa yang terdeteksi gangguan kesehatan mental non-psikotik. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan a) Analisis situasi, b) Menentukan permasalahan yaitu Bapak/Ibu guru belum memiliki pengetahuan pertolongan pertama terhadap siswa dengan gangguan mental non-psikotik, belum memiliki pengetahuan penggunaan teknologi untuk pencatatan konsultasi dan tindakan pada aplikasi Smart senyum. c) Memberikan solusi yaitu sosialisasi peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan mental berupa pertolongan pertama, pelatihan probing dengan 5W + 1H yaitu what, where, when, why, who dan How, pelatihan menulis konsultasi dan tindakan dengan aplikasi Smart senyum. d) pelaksanaan kegiatan: Hasil kegiatan ini adalah Bapak/Ibu guru dapat menjawab pertanyaan post-test dengan presentase 100% dalam menggunakan alat bantu aplikasi Smart Senyum, apabila Bapak/Ibu guru sebagai konselor tidak dapat memberikan solusi dengan tepat maka dapat menghubungi tenaga ahli kesehatan mental, dokter atau psikiater terdekat dengan hasil jawaban post-test sebesar 89%. Kesimpulan bahwa kegiatan ini berlangsung dengan sukses untuk semua pertanyaan dapat terjawab dengan benar.

Abstract

Ketersediaan data panjang badan ikan yang akurat menjadi elemen penting dalam pengelolaan perikanan berkelanjutan, khususnya untuk komoditas ekonomis seperti kakap dan kerapu di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). Namun, rendahnya partisipasi nelayan dan pengumpul ikan dalam pengumpulan data biologis disebabkan kurangnya pemahaman teknis. Tujuan dari kegiatan edukasi ini adalah nelayan dan pengumpul ikan kakap dan kerapu memiliki pemahaman tentang bagian-bagian tubuh ikan, jenis pengukuran (panjang total, panjang standar), cara penggunaan alat ukur, serta metode pencatatan dan pelaporan data yang sesuai dengan standar ilmiah. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan pada April 2025 melalui pendekatan andragogi berbasis partisipasi, yang meliputi sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, dan demonstrasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pengetahuan nelayan dan pengumpul ikan kakap dan kerapu di Pasar Ikan Tanjung Luar dalam mengenali bagian tubuh ikan, menentukan jenis panjang (total, standar, cagak), menggunakan alat ukur dengan benar, serta melakukan pencatatan data secara sistematis. Edukasi ini juga menumbuhkan kesadaran pentingnya mematuhi ukuran minimum tangkap sesuai regulasi daerah, sehingga mendukung ketersediaan stok ikan secara berkelanjutan. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan edukasi pengukuran panjang badan ikan ini efektif meningkatkan literasi teknis masyarakat pesisir dan diharapkan mampu memperbaiki kualitas data perikanan di tingkat tapak. Ke depan, diperlukan pendampingan rutin, penyediaan sarana ukur yang memadai, serta pelatihan lanjutan agar praktik pengukuran dan pendataan dapat dilaksanakan secara konsisten oleh nelayan dan pengumpul ikan kakap dan kerapu di Pasar Ikan Tanjung Luar.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah merupakan permasalahan di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Salah satu solusi yang diterapkan di Desa Murangan Triharjo adalah dengan menyelenggarakan Bank Sampah ATRAS. Dalam pelaksanaannya, Bank Sampah ATRAS memerlukan sosialisasi yang menyeluruh kepada masyarakat untuk memahami proses pengelolaan sampah secara mandiri di rumah hingga sampai ke bank sampah. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait pengelolaan sampah tersebut, diperlukan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat untuk mendukung peningkatan kemampuan masyarakat dalam melakukan sosialisasi melalui media sosial. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan manajemen media sosial dan desain grafis kepada pengelola Bank Sampah ATRAS agar dapat secara mandiri memproduksi konten bermuatan edukasi pengelolaan sampah di media sosial. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu dengan produksi video company profile Bank Sampah ATRAS dan pemberian pelatihan secara luring di gedung pertemuan di daerah Murangan Triharjo Sleman selama 4 jam. Materi yang diberikan antara lain berfokus pada empat aktivitas manajemen media sosial meliputi research, ideation, creation, dan distribution, jenis konten media sosial, pengelolaan media sosial, dan pengelolaan aplikasi desain grafis. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, Bank Sampah ATRAS memiliki video company profile dan dipublikasikan pada website resmi Bank Sampah ATRAS. Selain itu terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan pengelola Bank Sampah ATRAS dalam mengelola media sosial. Selain itu terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pengelola dalam membuat infografis seputar pengelolaan sampah menggunakan aplikasi Canva.
