Abstract

Background:Stroke can occur when there is an obstruction to the blood supply to the brain or when there is bleeding in a blood vessel in the brain. Stroke results in decreased neurological function, with clinical consequences depending on the degree of neurological damage. Post-stroke health problems may be exacerbated by poor oral hygiene. Poor oral hygiene results in the accumulation of bacteria in the oral cavity which allows these bacteria to enter the trachea. The purpose of this study was to determine the various oral hygiene interventions that can be carried out and their impact on the health status of stroke patients. Methods: This study uses a rapid review system where after obtaining articles from four databases, articles will be selected and assessed based on inclusion criteria, then a feasibility evaluation is carried out using The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tools. Results: After searching and analyzing, there were 6 articles that were judged to meet the criteria. From these 6 articles, there are 6 oral hygiene interventions that can be performed on stroke patients. Conclusion: The six interventions can have an effect on oral health status such as decreasing PI, GI, Candida colonization, oral hygiene, bleeding gums and preventing the occurrence of SAP (Stroke-Associated Pneumonia)

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a mother's effort to provide the best nutrition for her baby. Even if a mother intends to breastfeed, successful breastfeeding is not always achieved because many factors influence it. Rolling and Areoal massage is one of the efforts to ensure the smooth flow of breast milk combined with Jitu Oil and relaxation of Al-Qur'an Murottal. Sixty-four samples of breastfeeding mothers with instrument measurements using the Person Product Moment Validity Test. Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Normality and the Chi-Square test. Independent Successful Breastfeeding between the pre-test and post-test was significantly different; all respondents experienced an increase in Independent Successful Breastfeeding. So, applying Areola and Rolling massage using Jitu Oil with Al-Qur'an Murottal relaxation significantly affects successful breastfeeding independently.

Abstract

The information on the significance of family support in relation to the adolescent motivation to participate in Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination, remains limited. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between family support and adolescents’ HPV vaccination motivation. This study was quantitative with a cross-sectional correlational design and proportionate stratified random sampling approach. 271 students from two state junior high schools in the capital city of Indonesia participated in this study. The instruments were family support and motivational on HPV vaccination questionnaires. Univariate analysis to measure family support was first applied, then bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test. The study found that 52% of female students had support from their families at a moderate level, 48.7% of students exhibited a high level of motivation, while 51.3% had a moderate-low motivation to participate in HPV vaccination. According to bivariate analysis, there is a correlation between family support and adolescent motivation with a p-value of 0.05 (0.001) and coefficient of 0.486. The results show there to be a positive correlation; the higher the level of family support, the better the motivation of young women to undergo HPV vaccination. However, the number of students with a low motivation for HPV vaccination remains high. The government should develop an innovative program with a more comprehensive target to increase the HPV vaccination rate in Indonesia.

Abstract

Burns constitute a form of tissue damage and loss resulting from exposure to high-temperature sources, such as fire, hot water, chemicals, electricity, and radiation. Black turmeric (Curcuma caesia. Roxb) is identified as a natural remedy with empirical use for treating burns, owing to its composition of secondary metabolite compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins. Topical formulations like creams and gels are commonly employed for burn treatment. This study focused on creating gel and cream formulations incorporating black turmeric extract at concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 8% to assess their effectiveness in burn wound healing. The objective was to investigate the impact of dosage forms on burn wound healing and identify the most efficacious preparation. Employing an experimental approach with a randomized pretest-posttest design involving a control group, the study comprised five test groups. Data analysis utilized the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test followed by post Mann-Whitney analysis. The results indicate that the dosage form significantly influences the healing of burns in white rats, with the gel containing 8% extract concentration identified as the most effective preparation.

Abstract

Breast models are one of the learning media used by simulated patients in midwifery care practicums. Simulated patients' perspective is a new understanding in the selection of learning media. It is hoped that the results of the reflection carried out by the simulation patient can be used for the procurement of laboratory equipment and the development of designing learning models that are lower cost but have good effectiveness. This study aims to obtain group reflections from simulation patients regarding breast models used by simulation patients for midwifery cares scenario. This research is conducted by descriptive-analytic research. The sample in this research is the total population of the simulated patients in one midwifery school in Jakarta (24 respondents). Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. There are 3 breast models. We coded these three models into A, B, and C. The research results show that based on model function indicators, model B has a better function with a mean of 4.00 compared to model A (mean 3.18) and model C (mean 3.93). Based on model design, model B is also considered to have the best design (mean 3.67) compared to models A and C. The results of this study show that the most recommended model to use is model B (91.6%), followed by model C (66.7%) and model A (50%). The simulation patient recommends that the use of breast models should meet several criteria such as ethical norms, the weight of the model, the flexible nature of the model, ease of use, and comfort, it can be combined with other learning models, and students are not afraid to use it without worrying about damaging it.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a major health problem that causes an extraordinary number of incidents in Indonesia.. Fever is an infectious disease that still infects people throughout the world. The aim of this research is to analyze the prevention of dengue fever in society, especially in the Majalengka Regency. The research used is qualitative research, using phenomenological methods. Phenomenology requires seeing and hearing deeper explanations of events as well as personal understanding of these events. Based on the findings of the study, prevention of dengue fever in the community, particularly in Majalengka Regency, is as follows: 1) Early Warning and Prevention System for Dengue Fever, PSN is a safer, more affordable and easier eradication technique. Efforts to control dengue fever vectors are mostly directed at this program because it is government policy, although the success of this approach is very dependent on community involvement; 2) The Role of the Family in Preventing DHF, 89.1% of those surveyed said they did not take any preventive measures. DHF is recommended because the majority of respondents maintain water reservoirs with existing plants, there are cans scattered in the yard and house, there are larvae in the water reservoirs, the water reservoirs are not closed, and mosquitoes develop; 3) Carrying out tracking and assessment. From the results of in-depth interviews, it shows that the implementation of monitoring and evaluation is not good, where the implementation is only 45%. Informants from the health service and the Community Health Center gave the answer: carrying out monitoring and evaluation.
