Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the talqin method in learning Tahfidz Al-Qur’an for first-grade elementary school students at SD Al Madinah Belimbing, to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and to determine the effectiveness of the talqin method in helping students memorize the Qur’an. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Tahfidz teachers and first-grade students at SD Al Madinah Belimbing. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the talqin method was carried out through several stages, namely learning preparation, implementation of the talqin method, and memorization evaluation. In the implementation stage, the teacher recited the verses of the Qur’an slowly and clearly according to the rules of tajwid, then the students repeated the recitation several times until they memorized it. Evaluation was carried out through students’ memorization deposits to the teacher. The talqin method proved to help students memorize the Qur’an more easily because it is in accordance with the characteristics of early-age children who learn through listening, imitation, and repetition. Supporting factors in the implementation of the talqin method include the competence of Tahfidz teachers, a religious school environment, regular Tahfidz schedules, and parental support in muroja’ah activities at home. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include differences in students’ memorization abilities, lack of concentration, limited learning time, and lack of repetition of memorization at home. Therefore, the talqin method can be used as an effective method in learning Tahfidz Al-Qur’an for elementary school students, especially lower-grade students.

Abstract

Low levels of creativity among early childhood students are caused by a learning approach that remains teacher-centered and fails to provide children with sufficient opportunities to explore and express their ideas freely. One alternative learning approach that can be implemented is ecoprinting based on open-ended play, which utilizes natural materials and gives children the freedom to create. This study aims to determine the effect of open-ended play-based ecoprint learning on the creativity of 5–6-year-old children at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Sungai Buluah Kindergarten, Agam Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 13 children, including 6 boys and 7 girls. Data were collected using an observation sheet containing six indicators of creativity and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-sample t-test. The research results show that the children’s average creativity score increased from 10.54 on the pretest to 19.92 on the posttest. The hypothesis test results show a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These findings indicate that ecoprint learning based on open-ended play has a significant effect on enhancing the creativity of children aged 5–6 years. This activity provides children with opportunities to explore, solve problems, and produce diverse works using natural materials, making it an effective alternative learning activity for developing creativity in early childhood.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the essential competencies that prospective mathematics teachers must possess. However, this ability remains suboptimal because mathematics instruction tends to emphasize procedural knowledge rather than contextual problem solving. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by GeoGebra Classroom based on island ethnomathematics on the mathematical problem-solving ability of prospective mathematics teachers in the topic of vectors. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 20 second-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, PSDKU University of Pattimura, Southwest Maluku Regency, selected through total sampling. The research instrument was a mathematical problem-solving test developed based on Polya’s problem-solving indicators. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the paired-samples t-test. The results indicated that the mean score of students' mathematical problem-solving ability increased from 35.43 in the pretest to 77.61 in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk test showed that the difference scores were normally distributed (Sig. = 0.077 > 0.05). Furthermore, the paired-samples t-test revealed a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant improvement after the implementation of the learning model. Therefore, Problem-Based Learning assisted by GeoGebra Classroom based on island ethnomathematics significantly improved the mathematical problem-solving ability of prospective mathematics teachers.

Abstract

Digital transformation in public services has become one of the government's strategic efforts to improve service quality by making it more effective, transparent, and responsive. The West Nusa Tenggara Center for Education Quality Assurance (BPMP NTB) developed Si INTAN as a digital information and complaint service to support the implementation of the Student Admission System (SPMB). This study aims to (1) describe the complaint management mechanism of SPMB through the Si INTAN service at BPMP NTB; (2) analyze the extent to which digital service transformation through Si INTAN enhances transparency, responsiveness, and public satisfaction; and (3) identify the challenges and supporting factors in implementing Si INTAN as a digital complaint management instrument in West Nusa Tenggara Province. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and a literature review for data collection. The research informants consisted of the SPMB coordinator and the technical administrator of Si INTAN at BPMP NTB. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that the complaint management mechanism through Si INTAN is conducted systematically, beginning with the submission of complaints via the official website, followed by verification and clarification by the responsible officers, and ending with the provision of appropriate solutions in accordance with established procedures. The implementation of Si INTAN has improved service accessibility, information transparency, and responsiveness in handling public complaints, enabling the public to access services without visiting the BPMP NTB office directly. However, several challenges remain, including varying levels of digital literacy, limited internet connectivity in certain areas, and the need for continuous public outreach. Therefore, strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing human resource capacity, and expanding public awareness initiatives are essential to optimize Si INTAN as an effective digital complaint management instrument in supporting the implementation of SPMB in West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors causing health problems among ship crew during the cargo hold cleaning process on KM Tonasa Line XII using a qualitative descriptive method through observation and interviews. The results show that although the work implementation has followed established procedures, there are still health risks due to exposure to cement dust. The cleaning process, which is carried out manually, along with the enclosed, hot conditions of the cargo hold and limited ventilation, increases the concentration of dust in the air. The impacts experienced by the crew include respiratory disorders, eye and skin irritation, and physical fatigue. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is not yet optimal due to limited availability, inadequate condition, and discomfort during use. In addition, the lack of supervision and training affects the low level of awareness and compliance in using PPE. Fishbone analysis identifies six main contributing factors: human, work methods, equipment, materials, environment, and management. Control measures include improving discipline in PPE usage, optimizing the use of dust collectors, improving ventilation systems, and conducting regular safety training to minimize health risks among the crew.

Abstract

The North Natuna Sea is part of Indonesia's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and holds significant economic, geopolitical, and national security value. Although its legal status has been established under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, the area continues to experience various violations. These include illegal fishing activities conducted by foreign vessels and China's unilateral claim through the nine-dash line, both of which have created legal challenges in the region. This study aims to analyze the legal framework governing the EEZ under UNCLOS 1982, identify the forms of violations occurring in the North Natuna Sea, and examine the international legal mechanisms available to Indonesia in addressing those violations. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory and case approaches. The data were collected through library research, including UNCLOS 1982, Indonesian legislation, legal literature, and the 2016 South China Sea Arbitration award. The findings indicate that Indonesia has a strong legal basis for its sovereign rights over the North Natuna Sea under Articles 55–75 of UNCLOS 1982. Furthermore, the violations that have occurred, including the incidents between December 2019 and January 2020, are inconsistent with the provisions of international law of the sea. To respond to these violations, Indonesia may strengthen law enforcement at sea, pursue diplomatic efforts, and make use of international dispute settlement mechanisms such as the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) and arbitral tribunals. The consistent implementation of these measures is expected to reinforce Indonesia's sovereign rights and safeguard its national interests in the North Natuna Sea.

Abstract

Motor competence plays a fundamental role in supporting the physical, cognitive, and social development of primary school children. However, physical education instruction is still predominantly characterized by conventional, teacher-centered approaches that limit students' active engagement and motor development. This community service program aimed to implement Outdoor Physical Education based on the Joyful Learning framework as a strategy to enhance students' motor competence. The program consisted of needs assessment, school coordination, instructional planning, guided implementation of outdoor game-based learning activities, and evaluation through observation, documentation, and pre- and post-program motor competence assessments. The activities were conducted collaboratively with physical education teachers and primary school students. The findings demonstrated improvements in students' motor competence, active participation, learning motivation, movement coordination, balance, and agility. In addition, teachers enhanced their ability to design innovative, contextual, and student-centered outdoor learning experiences. These results indicate that Joyful Learning-based Outdoor Physical Education is an effective strategy for improving both the quality of physical education instruction and the motor competence of primary school children. The program provides a practical and replicable model that can serve as a best practice for strengthening physical education in primary schools.
