Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of career mapping-based information services on the ability to choose a college major in students of SMA Negeri 1 Stabat. The research method used in this study is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach. The data collection tool used was a Likert scale questionnaire about the ability to choose a college major. The research subjects consisted of 35 students of grade XI. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using a paired sample t-test to see the difference in the ability to choose a major before and after receiving career mapping-based information services. The results showed that the normality test value obtained a Sig. value >0.05 with a pretest value of 0.077 and a posttest of 0.083, and in the linearity test a coefficient of 0.699> 0.05 was obtained which means that the data was normally and linearly distributed. In the t-test, a Sig. value <0.05 was obtained, namely (0.01) and from the pretest and posttest tables, a t-count of 32.768> t-table 2.032 was obtained which proved that the hypothesis was accepted. This also proves that there is an influence of career mapping-based information services on the ability to choose a college major.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the differences in learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) and their implications for students' learning interests, while also analyzing the accompanying psychological conditions in the form of anxiety in mathematics learning. This descriptive quantitative study was conducted in grade VII of SMP Negeri 12 Jambi City with a total sample of 25 students. Data collection used a structured questionnaire instrument consisting of 30 statements to measure the level of anxiety and interest tendencies based on learning style preferences. The results of descriptive data analysis showed that the total actual score obtained from all respondents was 2,564 out of a maximum ideal score of 3,750. Through quantitative percentage calculations, the final index value was obtained at 68.37%. Based on empirical categorization standards, it can be concluded that the level of anxiety in mathematics learning in students is in the Moderate category. The implications of this finding indicate the need for a variety of learning strategies that can accommodate the diversity of student learning styles in order to minimize psychological anxiety and simultaneously boost interest in learning mathematics in the classroom.

Abstract

The Basic Literacy Program is one of the efforts made by schools to improve students' reading skills and reading interests. SD GMIT Peitoko has implemented the Basic Literacy Program since 2023 through reading activities for 15 minutes before learning starts. However, the implementation of the program has not been running optimally because there are still students who are not actively participating in literacy activities, lack of teacher assistance during the activity, and limited literacy support facilities. This study aims to find out the role of classroom teachers in implementing the Basic Literacy Program at SD GMIT Peitoko. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data is collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques, then analyzed using data analysis techniques that include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that classroom teachers have played a role in implementing the Basic Literacy Program as a guide, motivator, facilitator, and evaluator. Teachers guide students in reading activities, provide motivation so that students are more active in reading, provide reading materials available at school, and make observations on the development of students' reading skills. However, the implementation of the Basic Literacy Program has not run optimally due to the lack of a collection of reading books, limited educators, and low interest and participation of students in literacy activities. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that classroom teachers have an important role in implementing the Basic Literacy Program at SD GMIT Peitoko. However, it is necessary to improve literacy facilities, school support, and active involvement of teachers in assisting students so that the implementation of the Basic Literacy Program can run more effectively.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media has transformed the way people form and organize cultural identities in the postmodern era. In this context, issues of identity fragmentation, fluid cultural claims, and the dominance of popular culture that blur the lines between the local and the global have emerged, raising questions about how to understand cultural identity within the logic of symbolic capitalism and visual consumption. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of social media in the formation of cultural identity from a postmodern anthropological perspective, by examining the dynamics of symbolic hegemony, cultural consumption, and users' digital practices. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis and literature review of postmodernist theories (Baudrillard, Lyotard, and Foucault), as well as empirical data drawn from observations of social media posts and in-depth interviews with active users. The results reveal that cultural identity is not fixed and singular, but rather dynamic, personalized, and a performative construction visible through practices such as the choice of emojis, filters, hashtags, and recommendation algorithms. Social media becomes a space for negotiating cultural meanings, which also reinforces the fragmentation, simulation, and commodification of identity. These findings emphasize the importance of a digital anthropological approach in understanding the complexity of cultural identity amidst the hegemony of symbolic capitalism and the fragmentation of reality on social media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe efforts to empower adolescent girls through the utilization of sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L.) as natural facial masks based on local potential in Kampung Sawah Village, Besitang District, Langkat Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques comprising participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were adolescent girls aged 15–22 years residing in Kampung Sawah Village who actively participated in the training activities for making facial masks from sweet potatoes. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014), encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that: (1) the training activities successfully enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in processing sweet potatoes into value-added products; (2) participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the training process; (3) the facial mask products yielded good quality in terms of texture, ease of application, and natural ingredient content; and (4) the activity opened opportunities for the development of home-scale businesses based on local raw materials. Thus, empowerment based on local potential through skills training proved effective in improving the creativity, independence, and productivity of adolescent girls. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of sustainable community empowerment programs.

Abstract

Play areas such as Playtopia are not merely places for entertainment. They are also designed as facilities to stimulate children’s motor, cognitive and social development. This study examines the use of color and materials in the Playtopia play area as interior design elements that contribute to enhancing children’s activity stimulation. The results of direct observation, visual documentation and analysis of color and material theory suggest that the selection of bright and contrasting color (yellow, blue, red, and green) can stimulate positive emotions and encourage children to be more active and exploratory. Meanwhile, the use of safe, soft and impact-resistant materials supports children’s safety and comfort. The appropriate combination of colors and materials can create a pleasant, safe atmosphere that supports the learning process through play. Therefore, the application of color and materials has a significant influence on enhancing children’s activity stimulation in play areas and is an important aspect in the design of modern education and recreational interiors, such as Playtopia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model integrated with local wisdom on the visual arts learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 101767 Tembung. The study was motivated by students' low academic achievement in visual arts, evidenced by mid-semester summative data showing a mastery rate of only 36.7%. Conventional and monotonous learning activities limited to simple drawing media had negatively impacted student motivation and creativity. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The research subjects consisted of all 30 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 101767 Tembung in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected using a 15-item multiple-choice test that had been validated and proven reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.91). Data analysis included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test. The results demonstrated a significant increase in mean scores from 51.7 (pretest) to 84.6 (posttest). Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of < 0.001, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of Hₐ. These findings confirm that the CTL model integrated with local wisdom significantly improves students' visual arts learning outcomes, particularly in the topic of creating decorative motif patterns based on Batak Toba cultural heritage.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of civic character among students in Pancasila Education lessons. One strategy to address this issue is the use of an innovative and engaging instructional tool known as "Monalisa" (Pancasila Monopoly). The study aimed to determine the impact of using the Monalisa learning medium on the civic character of Grade X TPM students at SMK Negeri 1 Driyorejo. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design specifically, the Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The study population consisted of Grade X TPM students: class X TPM 2 37 students served as the control group using the Domino Game medium, and class X TPM 3 36 students served as the experimental group using the Pancasila Monopoly medium. Data were collected using a civic character questionnaire. Data analysis involved normality tests, homogeneity tests, descriptive statistics, and hypothesis testing via a paired-sample t-test using SPSS. The results indicate that the use of the Monalisa (Pancasila Monopoly) medium significantly influenced students' civic character, evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and an increase in the mean score from 44.00 to 49.31.

Abstract

One of the important milestones in the reform of the Indonesian constitutional system was the constitutional change through the amendments to the 1945 Constitution, which had a significant impact on the political system and the role of political parties. The purpose of this article is to examine how constitutional changes occurred after the amendments to the 1945 Constitution regarding the system and role of political parties in Indonesia, and how these changes impacted the implementation of democracy and elections. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive approach. This method involves reviewing literature from various journals, scientific articles, and other relevant sources. The study shows that the four amendments to the 1945 Constitution have significantly changed the Indonesian constitutional structure. This includes limiting the authority of the president, increasing the function of the House of Representatives (DPR), creating new institutions such as the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) and the Constitutional Court, and improving the electoral democracy system. With these changes, political parties, which are pillars of democracy, have more room to operate, conduct political education, and participate in a more transparent electoral process. However, in reality, several errors remain, such as transactional politics, political corruption, and manipulation of democratic mechanisms, indicating that constitutional reform has not been fully accompanied by increased political integrity. Therefore, to achieve the ideal goals of constitutional amendment, it is necessary to strengthen the legal system, reform internal political parties, and consistently enforce substantive democracy.
