Abstract

This study aims to: (1) identify the factors that influence student motivation in mathematics in grade V at Bajangrejo Public Elementary School and (2) identify the efforts made to increase student motivation in mathematics in grade V at Bajangrejo Public Elementary School. The research method used in this study was qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade students at Bajangrejo State Elementary School, totaling 14 students, who were then divided into three groups, namely high, medium, and low, according to the students’ abilities based on their summative assessment scores. Three samples were then taken using stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the discussion led to the following conclusions: (1) the factors that influence student learning motivation in mathematics in grade 5 at Bajangrejo State Elementary School are divided into two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors consist of interest and curiosity, self-ability, physical and mental conditions. External factors consist of parental support, the role of teachers, the learning environment, and rewards. (2) Efforts that can be made to increase student motivation in learning mathematics in grade 5 at Bajangrejo Public Elementary School can be divided into two categories: efforts by teachers in the learning process and the role of parents. From the results of observations and interviews, data was obtained from the three students sampled, revealing several common factors that influence motivation in learning mathematics, namely self-ability, the role of teachers, and the learning environment.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in foreign language education has brought about significant changes, yet it raises concerns regarding technological dependency and cognitive independence. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing an online questionnaire to analyze the impact of AI dependency on the A2-level writing abilities of Class B, Batch 2025 students in the German Language Education program at UNIMED. Findings reveal a universal adoption of AI (100%), with 60% of students relying on it for nearly every task, leading to "fleeting" vocabulary retention, a loss of personal writing style, and a psychological paradox where 65% of learners feel anxious writing without digital aids. The study implies that such dependency threatens the future professional competence of prospective teachers, as it erodes the linguistic logic necessary for manual instruction. Ultimately, the research suggests that educators must guide students to use AI as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for the thinking process to preserve academic and professional integrity.

Abstract

This study examines the management of routine school activities at UPT SMP Negeri 7 Medan. The problem addressed in this research is the effectiveness of managing routine programs in supporting students’ character development and learning habits. The objective of this study is to describe the implementation of routine activities, analyze their management based on management functions, and identify their impact on students. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation studies. The results indicate that routine school activities have been implemented in a structured and consistent manner, including flag ceremonies, literacy programs, physical exercises, creative activities, and religious programs. These activities contribute positively to students’ discipline, responsibility, and participation. However, the implementation remains relatively uniform and has not fully accommodated students’ individual needs. In addition, the evaluation process is still descriptive and lacks measurable indicators. From a management perspective, the activities reflect the application of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling functions, although the evaluation system has not been optimally structured. Therefore, improvements are needed in terms of differentiated activities, data-based evaluation, teacher involvement, and facility management to enhance the effectiveness of routine school programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of implementing ice breaking in improving the learning motivation of third-grade students at SDN Bajangrejo. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kurt Lewin model, which includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 13 third-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The results showed an increase in students’ learning motivation, indicated by the average score rising from 1.6 in the pre-cycle (low category), to 2.6 in Cycle I (moderate category), and reaching 3.5 in Cycle II (high category). The use of ice breaking created a more lively and enjoyable learning atmosphere, making students more enthusiastic, active, and able to remember the material more easily. Therefore, ice breaking can be an effective learning strategy to improve students’ learning motivation in elementary school

Abstract

Maulia Isnaeni. 037117042. The Correlation of Learning Discipline with Mathematics Learning Outcomes. This study adopts a correlational approach. The subjects of this research was the fourth-grade students from Class IV A and Class IV B at Pasir Putih 01 Elementary School, Depok City, comprising a total of 72 students with a sample size of 42 students. The data collection took place during the first semester of the academic year 2021/2022. The research findings indicate a significant correlation between learning discipline with mathematics learning outcomes, as evidenced by the statistical analysis yielding a correlation coefficient (ɼxy) of 0.53. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (KD) is calculated as 0.2809 or 28.09%. These results imply that 71.91% of the variance in mathematics learning outcomes is accounted for by factors other than study discipline. The regression equation Ŷ = 7.80 + 0.59 x indicates that an increase of one unit in study discipline is associated with a 0.59 unit increase in learning outcomes. In light of these findings, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant corellation between study discipline with mathematics learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at Pasir Putih 01 Elementary School, Sawangan District, Depok City, during the first semester of the academic year 2021/2022.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in developing elementary school students’ critical thinking skills through a literature review approach. Critical thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that needs to be developed from an early age; however, in practice, students' critical thinking skills remain relatively low due to teacher-centered learning. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining relevant scientific journals and books. Data collection was carried out through the stages of identification, selection, and analysis based on specific criteria, including empirical studies focusing on elementary school students, Project Based Learning, and critical thinking skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques by grouping, comparing, and synthesizing the findings of previous studies. The results indicate that Project Based Learning is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills through active involvement in problem-solving, analysis, and evaluation processes. In addition, PjBL enhances students’ collaboration, communication, and responsibility in learning. Therefore, Project Based Learning can be considered an effective alternative learning model to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of religious guidance in shaping adoles-cents’ character, particularly for fostered children at the Special Development Insti-tution for Children (LPKA) Class II Jakarta. The limited environment within the insti-tution often creates psychological pressures such as stress, boredom, and low self-esteem. Therefore, religious guidance is needed to instill Islamic values, improve behavior, and develop Islamic character so that fostered children are better pre-pared to return to society. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation related to the imple-mentation of religious guidance activities at LPKA Class II Jakarta. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The results show that religious guidance is implemented through congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, religious studies, and lectures using dialogic approaches, role modeling, habituation, and worship practices. These programs positively influ-ence behavioral changes among fostered children, including increased religious awareness, discipline, and motivation to improve themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze efforts to optimize children’s learning interest through interactive family-based learning assistance at home. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving school-age children and parents. The findings show that interactive learning assistance, such as discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and educational games, significantly increases children’s learning interest. Children become more active, enthusiastic, and motivated, while parental involvement creates a conducive learning environment. This research contributes novelty by focusing on learning interest rather than learning outcomes, and by applying interactive family-based assistance as a strategy to strengthen children’s motivation to learn.

Abstract

Mosques play a strategic role not only as places of worship, but also as centers of education, preaching, and community empowerment. The challenges of managing mosques in the modern era require improving the quality of human resources and implementing structured and sustainable learning instruments. This article aims to describe the implementation of community service through the application of learning instruments and skill enhancement in an effort to prosper the Al-Mujtahidin Mosque as a medium for Islamic preaching and education. The method used is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) with a participatory approach involving ustadz, ustadzah, TPQ students, and mosque administrators in all stages of the activity. The results and discussion show that the application of systematic learning instruments can improve the quality of the TPQ learning process, strengthen educators' skills, and increase student enthusiasm and participation. In addition, a more structured, effective, and locally relevant learning pattern has been established. The conclusion of this activity indicates that strengthening community-based learning instruments significantly contributes to optimizing the mosque's function as an adaptive and sustainable center for education and da'wah.
